The Courtyard by Marriott Portland East is located at 2811 NE 181th Ave., Gresham, OR 97230, telephone 503-665-2811. The hotel is a 4-story property with an elevator. It has nice amenities including a large workout facility, small office work station, meeting rooms, and a beautiful open-air deck area. No pool or hot tub. Also no restaurant but does have a bistro operated by Starbucks. But no complimentary breakfast. A few restaurants are nearby. And the hotel is easily accessible from Interstate 84 for those traveling by car. The hotel is only 2-years old so everything is modern and beautifully designed. The lobby is large and comfortable and the front desk is attractive. Our bedroom was large, nicely decorated and comfortable with a king-size bed. We had a small refrigerator as well as a microwave oven. Free wi-fi. Bath was average sized with a large walk-in shower which has shampoo, hair conditioner, and body wash dispensers on the wall. So if you prefer, you might want to bring your own products. Enjoyed having a room with a modern touch otherwise. A large open-air deck is attractive and comfortable with a large gas-fired fire pit for warmth during chilly weather. Also included is small area which is under cover for shade and wet weather times. Parking is free and excellent. And the staff was particularly attentive and friendly.…
We never actually stayed at this hotel, which is why I give zero stars. I booked 4 nights thru Expedia, and when my flight arrived we decided to go sight seeing first. I called the hotel and spoke to the front desk. I told them I would be checking in around 9 p.m. and to please hold our room. The front desk clerk assured me that was fine as long as i was arriving before 2 a.m. they would hold our room. We got to the hotel at 9 and they had already given our room away! We were EXHAUSTED and so pissed off. They tried giving us a king room - we are not sleeping together, thanks, that's why we BOOKED A ROOM WITH 2 QUEENS!!!! The worst of it is, after the man at the desk "helped" us by calling across the street to the Hampton, he printed me off a receipt showing there would be NO CHARGE since THEY GAVE OUR ROOM AWAY.... then we get home from the trip and lo and behold there is a $900 charge for this hotel, that we didn't even stay at as they had given away our room. We didn't even stay there. What a scam. I am STILL WAITING for the hotel (Monique I'm talking to you!!!!) to contact me to discuss this and offer me my refund since I did not receive what I paid for.…
We chose this hotel for its location (on the east side of Portland just off I-84) and its newness/modern design. We made a reservation many weeks ahead of our arrival but when we checked in we were told there were no king rooms available, only double queen rooms. Since this is not the room we booked, I was quite annoyed. After some discussion, the person at the desk offered to comp our room for the night. We thought this was a very gracious offer and we accepted. While we didn't use many of the amenities offered by the hotel, our room was very nice, and we enjoyed it. It seems the hotel may be experiencing some reservation system glitches but we would give them another chance if we were in the area again.
We stayed at the Courtyard for one night in room 401 - we picked this hotel since it was newly built and was only 15 min drive to the airport for our return flight home the next day. Check-in was easy and fast. Front desk was friendly. Parking is $7 a day - there was plenty of parking spots in front of the hotel. There is also a 7-Eleven across from the hotel in case you need a snack or something. The hotel itself has a small market corner with snacks and drinks (located next to the front desk). Room 401 is nicely decorated with a king size bed and the window even had a view of Mt. Hood from the distance! The shower was big, modern and clean and even had Paul Mitchell products - you don't see that often at hotels. Definitely a great hotel to stay - it was nice to stay at a newer hotel and enjoy the new design of it.…
Stayed here for one night on a cross country road trip. Everything was great! Front desk staff especially nice. Our room was so stylish and clean it felt like we were the first people to stay there. We also loved that the hotel was walking distance from a gas station/7-11 - super convenient. The beds were also so comfy!!! Would recommend!
We found out when we checked in that the hotel had opened 2 days before. It looked new, we hadn't realized how new. Obviously the room was in great condition. The location was very convenient for us because we were going to the Columbia Gorge and to see waterfalls. The staff were very helpful. We had a nice stay.
