We spent three nights at this beautiful hotel. The location is great, right off the freeway, close to some eateries, and far enough from Portland to make tourists feel safe yet close enough to get into downtown easily. Our room was nicely decorated in a modern style and we had a pleasant view watching bunnies romp in the grassy garden below. My only complaint is that housekeeping never showed up to make up our bed, empty our trash cans, or provide coffee cups/filters so we could make a morning cup in our room. All the front desk staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly providing us with the items housekeeping should have provided. Despite the inconvenience regarding the lack of housekeeping, though, I'd definitely stay at this hotel again for its ambiance and inviting atmosphere.

We chose this hotel for its location (on the east side of Portland just off I-84) and its newness/modern design. We made a reservation many weeks ahead of our arrival but when we checked in we were told there were no king rooms available, only double queen rooms. Since this is not the room we booked, I was quite annoyed. After some discussion, the person at the desk offered to comp our room for the night. We thought this was a very gracious offer and we accepted. While we didn't use many of the amenities offered by the hotel, our room was very nice, and we enjoyed it. It seems the hotel may be experiencing some reservation system glitches but we would give them another chance if we were in the area again.

We found out when we checked in that the hotel had opened 2 days before. It looked new, we hadn't realized how new. Obviously the room was in great condition. The location was very convenient for us because we were going to the Columbia Gorge and to see waterfalls. The staff were very helpful. We had a nice stay.

Based on the age of this hotel and the photos we were expecting a different experience.
The style of the hotel is modern and sleek. It could be very beautiful but the housekeeping is seriously lacking. Everything is tired and downright dirty.
The lobby floor I don’t think was swept the entire weekend we stayed there.
Elevators and stairwells are dirty. Our room had leftover food crumbs from prior guests. Fixtures were dusty and downright grimy. The bathroom vent appeared to have never been cleaned and the shower stall needed caulking.
We honestly should have packed up and left the first night but we we were too exhausted from traveling. We come to Portland often and although the location of this hotel was perfect for us we most definitely will not stay here again.

My husband and I had only 2 nights here and planned on spending 1.5 days hiking around Mt. Hood and visiting Multnomah Falls. We also knew we wanted to eat in downtown Portland neighborhoods. For those reasons, it was a centrally located hotel for what we needed as it was 1 block from 1-84 and about 20-30 minute drives from downtown Portland and from Multnomah Falls. Since we had a rental car, it was cheaper than parking in downtown hotels. It's a newer property but otherwise a typical Courtyard Marriott. It was fairly quiet with a comfortable bed, large shower, and clean room. Friendly staff and nice outdoor patio area.

Stayed here for one night on a cross country road trip. Everything was great! Front desk staff especially nice. Our room was so stylish and clean it felt like we were the first people to stay there. We also loved that the hotel was walking distance from a gas station/7-11 - super convenient. The beds were also so comfy!!! Would recommend!

Very disappointed in this Marriott location. Was talked into this location saying it’s new. That might be the case but it poorly managed. Trash outside full for three days (never emptied), dirty room, food under couch, mold in shower, must be the laziest staff I’ve seen. Take ownership and pride!!!! Anyways will not be returning to this property.

A picture speaks a 1000 words. Not the cleanest, do not have high expectations. Yikes, was my first impression unfortunately. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable BUT that comes with the downside of very obvious missed house keeping. Our bed had hair ALL over it? Stains on the carpet and some weird burnt markings on the table. There was items left in the closet and the drawers.

The Courtyard by Marriott Portland East is located at 2811 NE 181th Ave., Gresham, OR 97230, telephone 503-665-2811. The hotel is a 4-story property with an elevator. It has nice amenities including a large workout facility, small office work station, meeting rooms, and a beautiful open-air deck area. No pool or hot tub. Also no restaurant but does have a bistro operated by Starbucks. But no complimentary breakfast. A few restaurants are nearby. And the hotel is easily accessible from Interstate 84 for those traveling by car.

The hotel is only 2-years old so everything is modern and beautifully designed. The lobby is large and comfortable and the front desk is attractive. Our bedroom was large, nicely decorated and comfortable with a king-size bed. We had a small refrigerator as well as a microwave oven. Free wi-fi. Bath was average sized with a large walk-in shower which has shampoo, hair conditioner, and body wash dispensers on the wall. So if you prefer, you might want to bring your own products. Enjoyed having a room with a modern touch otherwise.

A large open-air deck is attractive and comfortable with a large gas-fired fire pit for warmth during chilly weather. Also included is small area which is under cover for shade and wet weather times.

Parking is free and excellent. And the staff was particularly attentive and friendly.

We stayed at the Courtyard for one night in room 401 - we picked this hotel since it was newly built and was only 15 min drive to the airport for our return flight home the next day. Check-in was easy and fast. Front desk was friendly. Parking is $7 a day - there was plenty of parking spots in front of the hotel. There is also a 7-Eleven across from the hotel in case you need a snack or something. The hotel itself has a small market corner with snacks and drinks (located next to the front desk).

Room 401 is nicely decorated with a king size bed and the window even had a view of Mt. Hood from the distance! The shower was big, modern and clean and even had Paul Mitchell products - you don't see that often at hotels.

Definitely a great hotel to stay - it was nice to stay at a newer hotel and enjoy the new design of it.
