If you are looking for a charming boutique hotel near many of Portland’s famed attractions then you simply must consider The Harlow Hotel. The renovations to this 19th century building have transformed it into a modern oasis of affordable luxury with the amenities of an otherwise snobbish luxury chain. There is a fitness center with a man Echelon for goodness sake. The Pride flag proudly displayed let my partner and I know we were surely to be welcomed. Clean and comfortable room furnishings will surely welcome you back after a day exploring the nearby waterfront and, for us, the Saturday Market. Major retailers including Nordstrom, Colombia and REI are all within easy walking distance. If you are arriving by train, Union Station is a stone’s throw away. Portland has a great transportation system including buses, streetcars and light rail. As with most major cities Portland, too, has its challenges with the homeless however my partner and I remain vigilant of our surroundings and continued our exploration in the beautiful city of Portland. A complimentary welcome beverage of either drafter beer or cider at the hotel’s cafe awaits you. I am not enjoying the pleasures of alcohol at the moment so a nonalcoholic beverage would have been nice. Other food and beverages are available, all of which may be added to your room. The friendly Night Auditor, Tazz, greeted me in the morning with charming conversation and crafted an exquisite latte which I enjoyed with a warm cinnamon scone. The Harlow Hotel is a definite must stay and we will return again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review and for all of your kind words. We are so happy your visit to our beautiful historical building was an enjoyable and memorable one ! We are so delighted that you and your partner felt comfortable and welcome here at our hotel, our main goal here at the Harlow is that all of our guests feel welcome, comfortable and safe, so it makes us very pleased to know that was your experience! Please do not hesitate to ask any of our bartenders to whip you up any mocktail or non-alcoholic drink you would like on your next visit, our staff is always open to getting creative when behind the bar , cocktail/ coffee wise :). We will definetly take into consideration creating a special mocktail menu for all of our non-alcohol drinking guests to enjoy while visiting our cafe & bar . Thank you again for choosing the Harlow hotel in downtown Portland OR , we so look forward to hosting you again :)

My wife and I got married a few blocks away and our venue didn't have a location to get ready, so we were looking for a hotel close-by that could serve that purpose. Harlow Hotel popped up when I was searching, since it looked like the rooms had good natural light for hair and make-up and the art deco aesthetic matched the theme of our wedding. We are SO glad we found this spot, they added so much joy to our wedding weekend and we cannot recommend them enough!

We booked the two executive suites as our getting ready space and set up a hotel block for our guests, then their team mentioned that they had a space where we could host a rehearsal dinner if needed. We decided to go that route since we were getting ready there anyways, but Noemi and Armando went above and beyond to make the whole weekend special. We were able to arrange custom cocktails for our party, created by one of the hotel bartenders (I don't remember her name but we're so grateful to her). Each of our guests staying at the Harlow got a little menu with those custom cocktails, such a cute touch and a fun keepsake from the wedding. Our guests all commented on how lovely the whole team was, they worked their tails off and did it with a smile! A very sweet and genuine crew and we absolutely adore them. The hotel also had their back patio decorated and available to us (it wasn't available when we first looked at the hotel), and it was so beautiful that we decided to do our first look out there. When we left at the end of the weekend, Noemi gifted us a Christmas ornament on behalf of the Harlow to commemorate the event.

I don't think I even scratched the surface of everything they did for us but suffice it to say they far exceeded our expectations. Planning a wedding is stressful but they made things as fun as possible, while offering creative touches that we never would have thought of! We would highly recommend them as an event space, a place to get ready for your wedding, or just a spot to stay downtown. Such a lovely little slice of Portland and we're so happy we found the Harlow Hotel!

It was a great decision to stay at the Harlow Hotel. The hotel was a cozy and comfy retreat after a day of walking the streets of Portland and discovering its environs.
The room ( I had a queen deluxe) was spacious , my bed was to my liking, everything was neat and clean, and the decor and styling of the room looked very classy.
The hotel has a very spacious and inviting lobby and cafe which caters not only to the guests but also the students and faculty of the art college across the street.
Aside from all these, the most memorable part of my stay are the nice and friendly staff who were always there to attend to my needs or just to share a minute or more of worthwhile conversation.
I would stay at the Harlow again on my next trip to Portland.

Maid service came the first night only out of 5. The full trash can we put in the hall with food stayed there for 4 days. Disgusting. We called day 3 for toilet paper and were told to come down and get it.

This is the FRINGE of the Pearl District. There is an open drug area across the street. The staff told us not to park in front of the hotel.

I highly recommend going anywhere else. The manager, Brandon, has the nerve to charge me an additional $200 because he saw me vape. This after I complained. That says it all!

Thanks you for taking the time to give us your feed back and voice your complaints again with us, we understand that the fees for smoking even vapes inside the cafe, stairs, and room which all occurred can seem high but unfortunately it does cost the hotel additional monies to remove the smells and stains and unfortunately we have to pass those charges along. I apologize that your stay was not what you had hoped but after you submitted a complaint and we investigated those claims we found where several times our policies were broken and you were asked to follow them and refused. We want every guest to feel welcome and safe and enjoy their stay in Portland Oregon in the Historic Pearl District and that means that we unfortunately have to pass those costs along to the guests that break policy. As I have stated before I would be happy to speak to you further on this matter as we have in the past via email and other 3rd party travel sites and I will gladly understand how after nearly every rule and guideline to being a guest in our Historic Building was broken, we decided to pass along just a small portion of those costs, if you need anything additional please reach out to me directly and I will gladly assist you.

Our room was perfect. Nicely updated and felt like a sweet little pampered getaway. I didn't hear any street traffic, hotel hallway traffic or any other city noises. The front desk person we checked in with was so kind and accommodating. I appreciate they have a place onsite to get coffee, spirits and a bite to eat. I will definitely be staying here anytime I come to the city; which is fairly often.

The Harlow Hotel is a hidden jewel in the Pearl District in downtown Portland. It's about a 3-5 min walk from the Max and Union Station. It's also at 8th street which has park like area all the way down the street. It's a nice area to walk. The hotel is so cute and quaint inside! I love the decor and the feel of this cute boutique hotel, plus the staff was so friendly and willing to help and get you anything you need, they definitely went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and catered to. They also keep the hotel secure, which is a great added addition in Portland. Will definitely be back to this awesome hotel if I come back to Portland.

The staff at the hotel were amazing. From friendly greetings, help getting checked in and parking, to recommendations for dining, the staff were all about customer service in a way I rarely see anymore in a reasonably priced hotel. The rooms and the lobby were beautiful and comfortable. It was easy for us to drive or even walk to everything we needed. My only complaint would be that I had to go downstairs in the lobby to buy coffee instead of being able to have something in my room.

Fun cocktails! mixologist Michelle made my Rick Hard a custom color to match my rock candy. Happy hour was $9.
Glowing blue fireplace in lobby. Punch card for coffee drinks.
Visit Lan Su Chinese Garden nearby if you stay overnight. Room with a view of the N Park blocks is $199 after taxes.

The decor is really nice and there are very friendly staff. We had a couple broken things in our room (toilet seat) and it was a little noisy. The walls don't keep out sound. It was a nice experience though! Really nice and convenient location.
