I really liked the location, everything's in reachable distance and there are many great food options. But the rooms are super small and the heater wasn't suffcient to actually warm the bathroom - and it was super noisy from the outside as well as the heater.
Thank you Steven, Derek, Devin, Bailey, Zach, Kaitlyn, Kaitlyn (aka Babs), Alexa and the hostess at the restaurant I'm sorry I forgot your name! Great crew, great times. Warm, welcoming service all around. Helping to bring Portland back! And great gin selection!
I loved the Hoxton! The staff was friendly, food and drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was great. Be prepared to park in a paid lot or pay over $50 for valet service. I wish this was included in the hotel pricing. The rooms were ready clean, they had such cute showers and the decor was fun! I even loved the body was they had in the showers. I would definitely stay here again, with the expectation to pay for parking during my stay.
Room was everything we needed and nothing we didn't, it was beautiful and relaxing by design, and the hotel accommodated our pup perfectly. Breakfast was good but the restaurant service could've been much better. For dog-owners: this is a super comfortable place to stay with your pup, but do be warned that there isn't a lot of grass/dirt nearby (if your dog is particular about where they do their business) so you may be going on longer walks than intended haha.
Fantastic stay! Not only was the hotel beautifully appointed, it was very clean, and the staff was amazing. In particular, Lucia and Steven at the front desk were extremely helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. Despite being short-staffed, everyone went above and beyond. We stayed in a Snug room which we expected to be small, however the space was used well. Could have used more hooks for hanging jackets, etc. otherwise, we were very comfortable. Looking forward to planning our next stay.
Loved our stay at the Hoxton Portland. Almost all of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. I want to call out Lucia and Devyn in particular for their STELLAR service in helping us late at night to heat up our leftovers on Christmas Day. They even went the extra mile to make sure we had a pitcher of water and table settings (and even a candle!) so we could dine comfortably downstairs, even though the restaurant itself was closed. Derrick was super patient and helpful in providing local recommendations for us, and Jeffrey at the bar made sure we were well taken care of with any questions or needs. Atlas was really helpful with our check in & check out process too. I think the boutique style of this hotel allowed service to be so much more customizable and personable. Pros: - AMAZING kind & helpful staff. This is where the Hoxton shines. - Very Portland-hip vibes. Nice decor. - Central location (with caveat under Cons). - Excellent gin cocktails and drinks at the Lovely Rita restaurant downstairs next to the lobby. Loved the decor & vibes in this restaurant too. - Rooftop views at Tope restaurant on top floor were nice as well. Cons: - European sized rooms (on the small side). We paid a bit more for the "Cosy" room instead of the "Snug" room, but it still felt a bit on the snug side. - We were warned by multiple Uber/Lyft drivers about the now sketchier neighborhood that unfortunately changed due to the pandemic. Just be alert and aware of your surroundings.…
The Hoxton, as always, was the most pleasant stay. My partner and I were there just a night and enjoyed dinner at Tope, drinks at Lovely Rita, and the snacks behind the check in desk as a late night snack. This place has wonderful views, great food, and great people. The next morning we popped downstairs for some coffee and pastries to bring upstairs to enjoy our late checkout. At the start when we knew we were way too early to check in, they were able to hold our bags while we went wine tasting and shopping. If you’re looking for the perfect cute place that has all you need and plenty nearby, I recommend the Hoxton. I used to come here to stay while traveling from California, now that I live in Oregon, I still come to stay because we love it so much!
The main floor was nice and the live plants and good food in the restaurant was welcome. The bar was confused and seemed to be out of everything. Getting a drink was very difficult. The room however let much more to be desired. We stayed in the largest room type available, but it was tiny, dirty and the shower had a significant build up of mold growing all over.
This Hoxton is right at the center of the PDX quadrant with tons of stuff in a less than 15 min walk from the hotel. Check out downtown portland dot org or travel portland dot com to find fun pop-ups and events. We discovered some really cool pop-ups and got all our xmas shopping done in one day. Beautiful lobby and rooms, staff is friendly and warm.
Got one of the comfy rooms, perfect for a couple that just needs a place to sleep. Location was great, we were seeing a show at the roseland so it was perfect. Found vomit splatter up the bathroom wall which was lame then when we mentioned it to the staff we were offered a cup of coffee for compensation....
