Stayed for two nights with my family. Was able to secure connecting rooms on the 5th floor. Heard complaints about the noise, and while there is for sure noise from the road, and some planes landing you can turn the fan on to run non stop, plus they have a white noise device (didn't us this) to help. Rooms were modern and updated (2015). Bed was comfortable, loved the in room coffee maker and ample charging locations. Property is just on the east side of I-205 and a quick ride to the airport. They do offer 24 hour shuttle service every thirty minutes, top and bottom of the hour. I found all the staff that I ran into having a great attitude and seemed to appreciate working at this property. Hotel itself was pretty quiet for Labor day and not that full. Rates were a little high, but I'll chalk that up to the labor day deal. If the price was right would consider staying here again. This is a pretty standard Courtyard, but I enjoyed our stay here.

This property truly is just a comfortable, well located hotel and one that I would stay out again without hesitation. Rooms were clean, service was great and the delivery of benefits with the Bonvoy program was flawless. I also very much appreciated that they actually had the gym open but restricted to reservations only.

Room was up to par with Marriott excellence.

Covid tests done in error 75 hrs prior to flight instead of 72 hrs caused much stress, heartache and misery. Add to that Typhoon destroying our home in the Philippines and closing that airport....sigh....

What made these past 8 days bearable was the Trifecta of three specific staff members.

First was Liyu. The first person we met at check in. Empathy is her strength. Always cheerful, encouraging, asking us how its going every day. Made us feel and know she really cares.

Second was Janice. Helping with printing, faxing and bringing us whatever we were lacking. From pillows, to shampoo and towels. Always commenting when she saw us on our scarfs, tee shirt (My boat, my rules) and laughing at mt antics. Making restaurant suggestions and getting us shuttles.

Third was Stephen. The restaurant/bar couldn't run smoothly without him. His quick one liners always led us to laugh. Whenever our drinks got down to a sip or two he'd show up. Ask him to make you his signature drink which he calls "Hugs on the beach"...very yummy.

This staff constantly offered up a friendly hello, a smile or greeting. It was as if they truly wanted us to feel special and not simply "another" hotel guest.

Was looking for the right word to describe this hotel. Let me first point out that the staff is professional and very friendly. It is just the hotel and the rooms that are not up to par with other Marriott Courtyard properties.
My room didn’t have a closet for clothing- just a rack with some hangers. The bathroom was super small and the fan sounded more like an airplane engine.
The door to the room across the hallway was sealed with plastic foil and tape ..... like airtight! That made me think....

Thank you for sharing your experience and complimenting our staff. I appreciate all of your input. I am sorry to hear that you were surprised by the seal you found in the hallway. We have had notices online and in the hotel regarding updates in progress. As part of our efforts to continually update and maintain the hotel we are completing the resurfacing of all guest room bathtubs. The chemicals used in this process can be quite strong. It was our goal to limit the odors throughout the hotel by sealing off the guest bathroom vents and rooms being completed. I apologize that our efforts to notify guests of this work did not reach you. Should you return to Portland I hope that we will have the opportunity to regain your trust and provide you with a comfortable stay.

I stayed here because I was taking a flight the next day. I took the train up there and called about a shuttle pick up. Miguel made that difficult because I didn't know there was more than one train station (as someone not native to the area, I didn't know) and he didn't explain that to me, so he directions were impossible to understand. I had to pay for a lyft because their shuttle was only to/from the airport. After checking in, it only got worse, because the woman ( I wish I had her name because of how disrespectful she was) who assisted Miguel in checking me in was condescending, rude, hurried me through the process, seemed like she couldn't be bothered to be welcoming or provide any information. She didn't even properly acknowledge my status; just "here is your room key, we have wifi, the elevator is over there". Then when I needed to book the shuttle the next day, I called and chose a time, then the person I spoke to had to call back and confirm it because he forget within minutes of my call. Side note, not once did a staff member introduce themselves on the phone. (The only reason I knew Miguel's name was because it was 15min between our conversation and me checking in.) But while I, and several other guests, were waiting in the lobby for the LATE shuttle the nght auditor was just hanging out in the back office. The only reason she came out was probably because of all the noise of bags rolling across the floor at the same time. I would NEVER stay here again if I could avoid it, based on the staff I encountered.

Not your typical Marriott experience. We were told lobby area was undergoing renovation. When we arrived, there were work trucks in front and back of building working on outside of building.
1. It would be nice if staff located guests in rooms that were not close to areas being worked on. We were taking a nap after a long drive and was awoken by a worker painting the railing on our balcony. Not what we expected!
2. Lighting is quite dark. More lighting needed over bar area.
3. Lots of light switches in room that don’t work.
4. Weekend staff is not very pleasant. Thought Bonvoy members received water upon checkin. Not once were we acknowledged as a Bonvoy member. Had to ask for the bottled water. Not real welcoming either.
5. Needed to contact front desk for a new iron board as the one in the room did not have a pad. Was told they were not sure if one could be brought up since no on was working in maintenance over the weekend. I should look for a maid on the floor and ask them. There was no maid so I called the front desk again. Another staff member answered and told me someone from maintenance would bring one right up.

After our 3 night stay, we wished we had chosen a different hotel. As mentioned in the title, not the typical Marriott experience we are used to.

Hotel was clean and the staff were courteous. However, the hotel is dated and in need of a refresh. The bathroom was split with the toilet and shower in the bathroom and the sink in the hotel room. You could just tell that it was tired and a bit worn from all the people coming and going through the airport. Until a renovation happens I would likely stay somewhere else in the future.

Under renovation, can’t use the stairways. Plastic closed off areas everywhere. Horrible smell from construction one of the days. I know this is a temporary thing, but it would’ve been nice to know before spending $400+ on two nights.
The pool is ridiculously small. At best, 5 kids may be able to swim?
Dirty wash cloth in our bathroom and a dead bug on the window sill.
Business center (computer station) doesn’t work.
And for the price you pay it would be nice to have complimentary coffee in the lobby - especially with the construction. Nothing though, just free water.

That said, the gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming and kind and the rooms are good sized. Can’t say I’d be back with so many other options in the area though.

They even have white noise machines by the dresser. I wish I knew this before I booked. I ended up with a quieter room, but it was 2 double beds instead of one king bed so my wife and I slept separately. No discount or refund was offered.

Thank you for staying with us. I am so sorry that outside noise was disruptive to your comfort. Please know that our staff was making the effort to recognize your high level status with Marriott when selecting you for the upgrade. Clearly this backfired and I apologize that we did not have a standard king room for you when you chose to move rooms. Be sure to take a look at your account with Marriott in the coming days. I will be acknowledging this experience and hope that you know I take your input seriously. I sincerely appreciate your comments and will be sharing with the team. Should you return to Portland we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with an outstanding stay in the true Marriott tradition.

Hello, I'm not sure if there is an airport shuttle. Uber was super cheap to get there and back to the airport though so I'd highly recommend that as a transportation to/from the airport.

HI, They do not offer free breakfast but you can get coffee and something to eat. But there are good breakfast places within 3-5 minute drive that offer extensive breakfast for the same price you can buy one at the hotel.
