This is a very pleasant hotel with clean, modern rooms and an excellent location near the city center. If you plan to stay a few days it’s worth spending a few extra dollars to get a room with a view of the Willamette River. But there is one strong negative: breakfast is inferior and overpriced. The “buffet” consisted of little bits of ham and three kinds of cheese. You can order anything you want as long as it is scrambled eggs, and don’t bother asking for sausage or bacon because they don’t exist. I rate the hotel 4 stars, but the food barely gets a single star.

Overall, the hotel is decent. I’m writing this review to mention a few things that a regular guest would notice. 1) there is a quiet but high pitched ringing in all the rooms (stayed in many and have asked my coworkers who also stay here regularly) - it is very annoying and worrisome 2) the floor is a plastic covering made to resemble wood and it frequently bubbles in the same spot near the entrance in many rooms 3) the bar staff is amazing 4) the lights in the room are very difficult to operate even after months of staying here 5) the hotel overall is very aesthetically pleasing 6) the bathroom 2 faucet situation means frequent leaks 7) overall it’s a hotel that was designed to look nice on the surface but was built on the cheap and will not age well

Madisonf407, Thank you for taking the time to let me know about the issues that you have experienced in the hotel during your frequent visits. This is a little troublesome to hear and I can assure you we will fix the issues that we can immediately. One of the issues you mentioned is our focus to repair and have set the schedule to fix and repair so that any other pop up problems will not pester our guests. I am happy to hear however, that you do enjoy our bar team as I think they truly are one of a kind in our hotel and some of the most veterened bartenders in downtown. I hope that I can still continue to happily welcome you back as your business necessitates as I promise to make every effort to ensure your comfortability. thank you again and safe travels.

Really cool hotel! The lobby was decorated nicely and the rooms look pretty new as well. I appreciated the eco friendly touches like having larger communal containers of shower products rather than giving out individual bottles.
But the best part of this hotel is the awesome coffee shop in the lobby called the Slab. Super cool to see hip places like this inside Marriott properties!

This hotel was wonderful, clean, spacious and the staff were all very friendly. I ordered from the restaurant and took the food back to my room, it was very good. I also ordered coffee and breakfast items from the cafe area in the lobby, and the coffee was so delicious. The room was wonderful and I appreciated the environmentally friendly soap and shampoos in the bathroom-refillable instead of wasting small plastic bottles. Very professional, courteous and friendly staff. I will definitely stay here again when I’m in Portland.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received, especially from a Marriott. I stay in a Marriott on a weekly basis and have never had this type of poor customer service experience. They double charged my card, then denied that they double charged my card, so I opened a dispute with Amex and now they are saying they did double charge my card but they cannot refund it because I opened a dispute!? Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, and the front office supervisor obviously could care less to handle the mistake that her employees made. After emailing multiple times, opening a case with Marriott, and receiving no response whatsoever from this individual, I opened a dispute with my credit card company. On top of this obnoxious issue, the valet parking was a disaster, the room was mediocre, the Air Conditioning didn’t work and was reported multiple times, the shower head was broken, and to be quite honest, the hotel itself was nothing to brag about. All of which I could have handled without writing this review, but the icing on the cake has been the fact that they charged me twice, and have done nothing to resolve the matter even though they now acknowledge that they duplicated the charge on my card. Stay at any other Marriott or one of the Hilton properties if you’re ever in Portland, as this location is atrocious!

Dear AAAK47, I thank you for taking a few minute to let us know about the issues you experienced with your billing and while I know our staff has contacted you about the routing issues with the reservation we have certainly processed the necessary items in our control. We take our guest feedback seriously and while I have no excuses as to why so many system failures occurred with your room, we have taken all necessary steps to ensure your room goes under full engineering review. Again, thank you for being patient and on behalf of my colleagues and myself, we apologize for any issues that detracted from your full enjoyment of Portland as we strive hard to deliver the exact opposite. Safe travels.

I really loved the modern, clean, friendly vibe of this hotel in the downtown area of Portland which is close to the water and also to bars, restaurants, and an awesome hot yoga studio (Flex). Front desk staff were so nice and accommodating with our early check in request for multiple rooms as well as stored all of our electronic equipment safely in their locked room so that we didn't have to haul it up to our hotel rooms. Valet also seemed very friendly.

I would stay here again and look forward to my next visit to Portland.

Kat at reception checked us in efficiently and was helpful in trying to remedy my mistake in accidentally signing up for the enhanced wifi instead of the basic wifi (adjacent forms on the login page). Later she was also helpful in routing a food delivery to the correct guest. Maintenance personnel I encountered in the hallways were courteous and friendly. When I requested to borrow an umbrella, folks at the front desk were quick to offer "how many?" and hand them to us with a genuine inquiry into our planned activities. I used the exercise room which was clean, modern, and spacious, just like our room. Despite the available space in each location, the TVs seemed oversized. I had to sit or stand as far away as possible to view them, or maybe I'm just not used to such luxuries!

BTW, all hotels should have no carpets, have updated bathrooms, garbage bins on every floor, light housekeeping, chromecast-enabled TV. I don't even request housekeeping even if we stayed 4-5 nights. BUT, there should be a way to clean up your own room. Garbage bins should be available or housekeeping should empty the trash cans on regular basis. Housekeeping should refurnish the amenities, coffee, etc on schedule. Towels should be changed after so many days. This hotel didn't have or did any. That's the one less star. But it's modern, clean, big room. Didn't come with microwave though which it should have because even though dining is nearby, it's expensive. The valet alone is $48 not to mention gas prices. We had issues during our stay but management addressed quickly and to our satisfaction. Overall, a pleasant no-drama stay. Would stay here again.

Thank you so much for this feedback. It appears from your comments regarding the housekeeping service our team did not communicate that housekeeping service is upon request. We are more than happy to clean your guestroom every day of your stay or simply bring some fresh towels and empty the trash. Many guest have been sensitive with employees coming into their room during the pandemic so we moved to a request only model. I am sorry that this was not properly communicated. I am certainly happy to hear you enjoyed the overall experience and you would be willing to stay again. Ryan (GM)

Good place to stay for a night or two.
We stayed as a family. We reached at late night and our room was ready. Parking is a problem. They offer valet parking (at $49), but make sure you offload all your stuffs as they use another building to park.
Service was courteous, we got a microwave in the room on request.
They had a small breakfast corner where we ordered bagels and croissants (for $4 each).
Check-out was a breeze. They gave us a few hours more on request.

The director of operations, Anthony made the stay a very very pleasant one. Courteous, timely, super informative, and hospitable. This hotel is top in my books not only in Portland
Location is quiet, views from the 14th floor over the waterfront are a plus and walkable to food trucks and the sights of the city
