I am a pilot car in the wind energy field. We are loading blades out of the port. I am usually here for a few days. I call this hotel my "recharge " stay. Everyone from the front desk, housekeeping to breakfast crew are so kind and helpful. The hotel is very clean. The beds and pillows are awsome. If you enjoy a good ht breakfast, this is your place. I enjoy the fitness center and sauna. All well kept. Easy access to shopping and restaurants. Thank you.
The property was safe and well-maintained, if a bit dated. Staff was helpful and friendly. However, I was shocked and disappointed to find that the free breakfast advertised on their website does not exist. On the official IHG webpage for this particular hotel, the current front page runs the statement "Great dining begins here each morning at the free, hot Express Start Breakfast Bar. You'll be ready for the day with "Make Your Own Pancakes," western omelets, biscuits and gravy or other hot items, the cold favorites and bold 100% Arabica bean coffee." However, when we arrived, we were informed that they did not offer any breakfast whatsoever, other than the adjacent hotel restaurant at which one could purchase meals. We did not bring breakfast food because we were advertised this free breakfast *on the official webpage* We feel lied to and cheated, as if we paid for a service only to find the service was missing a key promised component.…
A great place to stay. With good service and excitement customer service. Was in Portland for business that got delayed but the facilities were spot on and customer service was 100% bar and restaurant service from all the staff Bonnie the peacock provided great service and support our glasses were only empty when we wanted them to be
Was happy staying here with my 2 grandchildren. It was quiet and comfortable. Very nice linens in the room. Plenty of pillows. Unfortunately, housekeeping was not done without a phone call to the desk even though we had been gone all day. But the staff was friendly . Best free breakfast I think I have ever been treated to! Nice indoor heated pool and hot tub , after a long rainy day out and about.
This hotel had excellent staff - polite and attentive. Rooms were big. They are had great COVID measurements. Their common area was kept clean including the elevator. The hotel site is not the best. No outdoor space, no views from windows. It felt really boxed in. We compensated by enjoying our time outside the hotel. Hotel is also quite dated. One room was dirty and we had to move. We had poor experience in all holiday inns we stayed at in the last 4 days. May be because of pandemics, hotels are struggling to meet the basics and stopped investing in the hotel. Now it is harder for them to restart after losing so many of their staff members. Hopefully things will improve.
Staff was super friendly and welcoming and the place was very clean. Breakfast was delicious too! The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet at night. I had such a restful night and comfortable spot I stayed 2 extra days!
Staying in the Portland area during Covid 19 has it's own challenges. I decided to book a room @ Jantzen Beach to get out of town a little. I frequently stay at Holiday Inn brands for business trips but was disappointed in the Jantzen Beach property. The walls are extremely thin and room dated. I know that the hotel wasn't full, but I was put in was next to the elevator and another guest was put in right next door. With all of the space available, spread people out!
My stay was weeks ago and I still have around 100 bug bite scars all over my body. It was a miserable experience and I do not recommend anyone stay there. Neither the employees at the front desk or the Manager seemed to care about the issue at all.
Holiday Inn Express 2300 N Hayden Island Dr Portland OR. On February 19th upon to return to room ~5PM the housekeeping staff was still working on my floor; my room had not been made up at that time. So I grabbed my computer bag and went out to dinner. When I returned the crew was gone and my room was not made up. I called the front desk and the lady who answered stated “you must have left your do not disturb indicator on the door” I advised I had not and her response was “I will get you points.” (to date points never appeared) The more I think about this the clearer it became that the hotel employees are always focusing on failures being the issue with the guests and not the ownership / employees to hold staff accountable. Not even an apology of failure was offered. I have had other issues with similar results at this facility. I like to stay with IHG and this property is close to my project here. If things do not change I may have to consider a move to another hotel chain, My project is still has a couple of more months to go.…
I stopped into this IHG property while in the Portland/Hayden Island area while on business in the area. I was only there for one night and was looking for something affordable. I have stayed at the Marriot Hotels nearby, but I always find them way overpriced. I have stayed at the Country Inn and Suites and hotels near the airport. I had never stayed on Hayden Island and that night the rates were really good. It was a rainy day and night so I didn't get to explore the Island as planned. I had dinner at Warehouse 23 and then came to the hotel. What I found were the friendly staff and an older but very well maintained property. There was a Starbucks close by as well so I could my morning espresso fix. I wasn't familiar with the area so I didn't know where any coffee shacks were. The hotel has all the conveniences you would find at Holiday Inn properties, the fitness center had everything I needed, my room was large clean and a bit dated but for only one night, no problem. My room was big and simply furnished with some free outlets to plug into. I would like to see is USB ports as it is 2020. The carpet could use refreshing as well. Overall the room was big, clean and my bed allowed me a good night's sleep. The AC/Heat unit wasn't too noisy, and the bathroom was immaculate. I got in some time in the fitness center and used the cardio equipment, which was a little on the older side but sufficient. There was a water cooler as well so you could refill a refillable bottle or just get a drink with a paper cup provided. Wifi was good, not blazing fast was able to connect through my corporate firewall fairly quickly, there a little lag on NetFlix and Amazon prime but nothing serious. Breakfast was a good selection of hot and cold items, and overall satisfactory. I can't say anything was wrong with the hotel, the staff were excellent and helpful, the rooms were big and clean, the fitness center did its job and I had a good breakfast. Great for a one night stay.…
