My husband wanted to surprise me for a weekend getaway and chose this place. I've stayed at other Embassy Suites and was very exited. Upon arriving I thought it was strange that there was a gate to get in and had to push a button, however, the exit gate was stuck in the up position. There were 3 shuttles parked in front of the building taking up all of the spots we ae had to go park to check in. It's Portland so of course it was raining. There was only one person checking people in so the wait was long. We finally got checked in and went to the room. They had a sticker showing the room had be sanitized, but when we walked in is smelled like mold and mildew. We didn't want to stand in like again, so I just used our sanitizer wipe and sprayed disinfected spray. The furniture was worn and the sofa was very uncomfortable. There were kids running up and down the halls so it was very noisy because there is a window facing the hallway. Our bedroom faced the airport runway so I just sat and watched planes take off and land which was really neat, but there is a railway crossing that makes noises all day that takes away from the ambiance. The bathroom shower was moldy. The one thing I did really like is that they did have a happy hour from 5pm to 6pm. They offer bags of chips and crackers. They also have a good selection alcohol beverages to choose from. They have a small menu to order food, but it is a bit pricey. Because happy hour is a only an hour it does get crowded. Again we had to wait again to check out and was told there were no charges , but a week later my husband ended up getting a charge on his card that no one could explain. I've stayed at other hotels in the area and prefer those over this one hands down.

Overall a good stay. I was shocked by the prices at the bar and restaurant and the fact I had to pay $15 per night for parking (maybe because it’s by the airport?). The nightly reception was good and the breakfast was excellent. Rachel at the desk was super helpful making check in easy and quick. I’m happy to hear the property is scheduled for a renovation, it needs it. It’s difficult to get older surfaces and furniture clean. The property is located between the runways of PDX but noise wasn’t a problem. The red line of the light rail runs right outside the hotel making it easy to get around if you don’t feel like driving. There is a Dutch Bros right across the street that’s open 24 hours, along with a 7-11. Overall I would stay again.

Does not live up to the embassy suites name. Decent looking building from the outside but interior is 100% 1990s and showing it’s age. Was here for 6 weeks. Big turn off when you first walked into the lobby and see the glass panes for the water feature is caked with years of hard water marks. Front desk staff is hit and miss. Some of them go above and beyond to help (AKA the shuttle bus driver) but some of them are just flat out rude. I was asking the receptionist to add on my gold Hilton membership number to my stay, before I even finished my sentence she just turned her head and walked away to serve the next guest. I even wrote down the number on the check in sheet to speed up the process, only got replied with “I will get to it when I get to it.” Sub-standard housekeeping/cleaning, judging even without the COVID precursor. Ironically, massive streak on the mirror right next to the “Hilton clean stay” sticker. Grimey marks on the desk surface. Questionable that they claim the high touch area has extra cleaning. Drooping palm prints on one of the elevator doors were present on all 6 weeks that I was here. No one emptied out the trash can by the elevator for days on end. One of the room I stayed the shower curtain was put on backwards. Room 819, one of the “premium suite” deemed by the hotel, the AC is constantly making noise even when it’s fully turned off, and the toilet keeps leaking every 10 mins. Another room has no sheer curtains. Oh did I mention the coffee dispenser in the lobby is empty at 7am? Save your money and go elsewhere.

The furnishings in this hotel from the lobby to the rooms is extremely dated, worn, and looks like it needs a good cleaning. The chairs in the bar area are so low that, when you sit in them, your chin is practically level with the top of the table. We would not choose to stay here again if we are paying the same price we would pay for a more updated hotel. We have stayed at MUCH better Embassy Suites (Ontario Airport, for example) and had hoped for the same quality. We were disappointed when this did not happen.

I made reservations at this hotel for 2 rooms for myself and children and one room for my Mum for 4 days each last week. This hotel has not been updated since it was built. The wallpaper is peeling off. There was a place in our room where the popcorn ceiling was coming off and a gaping crack about 9 inches long. Tiles popping off the wall in the bathroom. The living room furniture is tattered and frayed. The cushions on the couch are flat. They do not provide linens for the sofabed. The air conditioner is not sufficient enough for the size of the room. It will get the sleeping area cool but the living area is hot! There is no fan in the bathroom. And the smell inside the place gave us all an unshakeable headache the entire time I was there, even though I left two days early. The beds are an absolute joke! Nobody could get any good sleep! The last straw for me was after breakfast of the 2nd morning we were there the guy who cleans up the dining room made a rude comment directly to my two year old who is developmentally disabled! My toddler got muffin and eggs on the floor. I apologized to the man and said we should've brought our dogs! They're the clean up crew at home. As the man was cleaning up the mess he said to my grandson "Hey Daniel, maybe tomorrow we can keep the food on the table..." I just left after that. I was planning on giving him a tip, not after that comment! It took three times in calling front desk just to get the code for the upgraded wifi which I am entitled to for free as a Silver member. But the guest service clerk kept telling me that was a Hilton promotion and I needed to get it from them. I had already called them and they said get it from the front desk. They refused to give it to my son. Then finally when I told them look I've already talked to Hilton and they said to give it to me! They finally gave it up but not after making it sound like to me that they were doing me some incredible favor. This place nickle and dimes you for everything so be sure to check your bill! I told them of all of this at check out and nothing. So be warned! I checked out early and went to The Residence Inn. Walked in there and was greeted warmly, treated with respect and kindness. The suite was impeccable and a/c worked to 60* thru out the entire 2 bedroom unit! I will NEVER stay at Embassy Suites again!

Advantages:
Beautiful, spacious atrium.
Very friendly and professional staff.
A great location, whether you are flying in and out of Portland, or whether you are just looking for a base for your Portland visit.
Comfortable furniture.
Delicious and plentiful breakfast options.

Disadvantages:
The main reason I am giving this hotel only four stars, is that the rooms are in a serious need of modernization. The furniture looks like it's from the set of the Golden Girls. There are hardly any outlets. I am writing this review in the front room, and the only power outlets are the regular ones on the wall. There are none by the nightstands in the bed. Plus, all the furniture has these wooden frames, and it's not like the modern look of most current Embassy Suite hotels. There are many hotel options in the vicinity at the Portland Airport, and this location needs to upgrade and modernize their rooms in order to stay competitive.

Great airport shuttle also takes you to nearby outlet center with lots of restaurants. Rooms are quiet. Big wedding going on placed was packed however service was fast, evening reception very nice this ES actually makes cocktails in a real glass and not cheap booze dumped in plastic cup like others I've stayed at, nice work out area and pool opens early.

Breakfast opens right on time, really friendly staff in there, get the omelette nice job serving big crowd with no excuses. Had dinner in restaurant one night, very tasty and once again great service.

All three elevators work and are fast to handle the crowd. Nice job ES Portland Oregon airport!

Loved this hotel! Super close to airport (evident from the name) and about a 15-20 minute drive to downtown pending on traffic. An Uber will probably cost you around $12 ~ $18 pending on time of day. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel provides a good breakfast assortment (all complimentary) ranging from hot breakfast sandwiches to cereal, fruit, baked goods and juice/coffee. It’s more of a grab and go, but there are seats and tables in the lobby area if you didn’t want to dine in your room. The breakfast is nothing fancy, but it should fulfill your morning needs. What really made this hotel a must for me is the super friendly and courteous staff. Kyle, who checked us in and Abby, who checked us out were super helpful and kind. Definitely looking forward to coming back here soon!

I booked two rooms to accommodate our large family. Upon arriving there was a misunderstanding on rooms I booked. We were told due to covid you had to book time at the pool so we attempted to and said no availability yet same people were at the pool every time we looked. Also booked this hotel because it had restaurant on site well restaurant is not operating right now. Breakfast was all prepackaged food cheap granola bars, yogurt, and danishes. Nothing appealing. So had to go purchase breakfast else where. Then on top of that get home go to use card and notice they are now trying to charge another $108. Try calling to find out what's going on with that and get voicemails and run around.Talk about not happy.

I would think so; I would call the front desk to confirm; maybe they will even allow early check in. I checked in early when I stayed. Good luck.
