This is a great little vintage motel, even had metal door keys. clean, no frills, and pet friendly no problem. staff very accomodating, they even have a policy of no staff entry while your pet is present, which was a great comfort to us. we stayed her to ride the Eagle Cap train in Elgin, this was perfect for that. beware if you are not the first to use the hot water in the morning, you might end up taking a cold shower.

Rooms were scarce in La Grande. The online photos and rock-bottom price made me doubtful, I must admit. But arriving here, I found it welcoming and clean. Even though its exterior appearance is even more dubious than online. I mean, the parking lot has an ancient swimming pool with a rockpile in the deep end.

That said, my room was quite clean and very quiet. The bed was comfortable and spotless. It had a TV, Keurig coffee maker with coffee, tea, and even hot chocolate. Fresh bath towels. I was impressed by how well kept everything in the room was, especially for the price.

The manager was very friendly and helpful.

The location is very close to downtown La Grande and there is a convenience store/gas station/Burger King on the next block.

So, all and all, I would endorse choosing this very budget option. Unless you plan to use the swimming pool.

It was cozy. Has everything you need? Fridge? Coffee maker? Shower toilet bed TV. Free Wi-Fi! Lady at the front desk was pleasant. They do have some pet friendly rooms. Close to all amenities.
I can't seem to find enough to make 200 characters.

Proprietor (and, I assume, the owner) was very nice and helpful. Our room was close to our vehicle making unloading/loading easy. No easy access to bedside electric outlets, which made it very difficult for both of us to plug in our Cpap machines. Only 2 small desk lamps for light other than the dim overhead lights. No ice machine or vending machines. Had a nice sized fridge with an actual separate freezer. Bed was comfortable and wide variety of TV channels. Seemed clean but very, very rundown.

What a great find! This charming older motel was exactly what I was looking for: extremely quiet, yet near the downtown area of La Grande, great rates, immaculately clean, comfy bed, fast and reliable Wi-Fi, and with a roomy refrigerator/freezer since I travel with my own food. Love being able to refreeze my ice packs so they’re ready to go in the morning! The proprietor is very friendly and made me feel welcomed. Keep in mind that like most older properties it won’t have some of the modern conveniences like a lot of outlets handy to the bed. There was a power strip next to the desk, however, and I always travel with a fully charged backup battery for my phone and tablet, so that wasn’t a problem for me. Even though I have earplugs, I frequently have trouble sleeping in motels due to traffic noise, but this place is totally quiet. My room was extremely clean with homey touches. Will definitely stay here again when I’m in the area.

Chose this location for the price, and user reviews. The owner (think her name is Julie) was great to talk to on the phone and easy to make the stay work for my family. Came to La Grande for an AAU basketball tournament. Needed a room for my wife and son, Sister-in-law and her family of 4 and at the last minute was able to add a room for my dad and his dog. She was very accommodating, and friendly.

Now for the room. People should know what they are getting when the reserve here. The price, which is more than reasonable, was a big reason we chose here. With that said, we knew we weren’t on a family vacation to stay in an all inclusive resort. (Some reviews, I feel are unfair, as you should know what you are getting.) The room was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Bed was great, great water pressure, with good warm water. Heater, was located under the A/C unit, looked a bit small, but that little guy pumped out the heat! There was a Keurig in the room , and there was even hot cocoa for the kids.

Overall the stay was exactly what we hoped for. We got a great deal, felt at home and had no problems with the older feel, squeaky floors , or any of the other complaints that were mentioned. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

We stayed here the first and last day of our recent roadtrip. It's an older place, for sure, but the room was clean and comfortable. The fridge was a size up from the usual microwave-sized fridge you get. Pod coffee in the room, good blend. The manager was very nice, helpful. This motel is near multiple food options.

I lived here in 2006 and it has had a lot of work and remodeling since then. Still has monthly rentals on backside, but front is all nightlies. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and so clean. Kuerig with cocoa and coffee, mini fridge, microwave, flatscreen, and ADA accessible shower in a straight outta the 50s bathroom tile and light fixture...I though it was cool. Honestly, for the price this was more than you would expect and pleasant surprise, highly recommend.

When you first pull into the parking lot the place looks rundown. The room was just as bad. Burn holes in the carpet, The floor squeaked. The glass shower door had rust on it. The toilet seat had not been replaced since the 1960's, the finish had worn down to the wood. The entire room was a flash back to the 60's maybe 50's. Did not feel comfortable, would not stay here again. So much for privately owned Mom & Pop motels take pride in their business.

The place is run down and not very inviting. Some rooms appear to have fulltime renters which felt really odd for a motel. On the plus side the price was low. In fact, that's why I picked it. Next time I'd suggest camping instead.
