Hotel's Favourite
We came in late for an overnight stay. This hotel is very nice. Google Maps helped us located; the entrance is by a gas station. Our room was well-appointed and clean. I liked the decor & comfortable bed. We did not eat breakfast as we wanted to hit the road early, but I'm sure it was good. We would stay here again if in the area!

Decided to stop here for the night and spend some time on Hood River. Great hotel for the price. Staff were super awesome. The breakfast spread was huge and delicious. Indoor pool and hot tub that we had to ourselves every time. There’s a gas station, Taco Bell and a Dairy Queen in the same parking lot and a grocery store like a block away if you need anything. If we ever decide to do this again we will stay here again. There is one downside though. This is the worst place for soundproof rooms. You can literally hear everything in the rooms next to you and especially all the way up and down the hall. But all the other good stuff outweighs this any day.

Great reservation and check in experience. Very, very friendly front desk. Everything feels like it is new or newly refurbished. Breakfast included not only cereal and sweet rools but omelets and biscuits with gravy. Kids loved the cereal options. The pool and hot tub were very kid friendly. There is an elevator, the rooms are modern and super clean. Checks all the right boxes. Great place to stay in Hood River.

Customer service was poor. After driving for several hours we arrived at the hotel an hour before check in. There was no one at the desk with a sign that said they have stepped away. The receptionist came up to the desk after a few minutes and informed us that our room wasn’t ready but would be at 4. Not a big deal. We love hood river and had dinner and explored. We came back at 6 (2 hours past check in time) to no one at the desk again. The receptionist came up a few mins later and radioed housekeeping to ask if our room was ready yet. The housekeeper on the radio said “sorry I forgot, give me 3 minutes”. Pretty unnerving that our room would be cleaned this fast and that it still wasn’t ready. When we went to our room, the shower curtain stunk like it hadn’t been washed in a long time and there was hair in one of the beds…. Making us think the sheets weren’t even changed. There was a pull out bed on the couch that was full of springs and uncomfortable. The pool was closed unfortunately as well. The next morning we went down for continental breakfast and there was no coffee or plates with several people standing around. After about 10 minutes we finally got someone to restock everything. We went to checkout after this to find no receptionist at the desk and the sign again saying they stepped away. We saw this same receptionist that checked us in the night before outside with other employees smoking in the parking lot. She saw us through the window standing there and ran in to check us out of our room. Customer service was very poor. The hotel shared a parking lot with a gas station. There are much prettier and nicer places to stay in Hood River. We won’t return to this hotel.

In early September I booked 3 rooms for our f., I'm told its 4pm check in.
only 1 room was ready. Front desk would call me when other rooms were ready, she said 30 minutes. 40 minutes later, no call so I walked to lobby, she had card keys waiting on counter for 1 room and handed to me, (no call). She said it'd be another 45 minutes for 3rd room. I told her that was unacceptable since it was now 4:15 and we had someplace be soon. She gave us another room which was "ready". That room had pubic hair in and on the tub, beds looked half heartedly made in all 3 rooms, looked like kids jumped on beds they were so messy. 3rd room the toilet seat was so loose someone could slip and fall off it. I went back to front desk, complained about the 2 rooms with the issues and asked them to fix the seat on toilet. She told me they couldn't get a new seat, I said just tighten it down before myself or my daughters mother in law who was staying in my room fell off it. We all left for our excursion, came back several hours later. Pubic hair gone, toilet seat STILL loose. Nothing done about it. Terrible stay. I have stayed in these hotels many times, never an issue. This was a terrible experience.

Although the rooms were nice enough, our smelled to HIGH HEAVEN. It was a non smoking room but the stretch was as if someone had been chain smoking for weeks prior inside the room. The hotel was full so I didn’t ask for a room change and we were only there one night. The air conditioner was SO loud I had to turn it up as it kept me up whirring loudly on an off throughout the early part of the night. The location is next to a Taco Bell and Walmart and there were some shady peeps hanging about. All this I could deal with if the room didn’t smell so bad. We were only there one night so I went across the street to Walmart to buy a candle - but that only made the room smell like artificial candle and cigarette smoke. There were also creepy stains on the rug. Note the staff was very nice and we could have asked to move but for a few hours sleep we decided to endure but we won’t be back.

Room Tip: Although Hood River is beautiful this hotel is on a busy road not in a great area of town.

We had a basic room which was clean and had the usual amenities, coffee maker, fridge, iron, and big tv with cable.
Plenty of towels and nice pillows.
On the unwanted surprise side, our room had an adjoining room shared door which had a surprisingly large gap under it so we could clearly hear the people next to us (and they us I assume).
Breakfast was better than average.
The location is high on convenience, immediately next to a Safeway and gas station, but too far to walk into town.

+1
I first want to say that the night manager was wonderful. She tried very hard to accommodate us, however the lack of cleanliness prevented our stay. The first room we were given the beds had not been changed, which was clear from a note left by the maid. The second room the beds had pubic hairs all through the sheets and the bathroom floor also had toenail trimming and hair on it. The 3rd room had urine around the toilet base and hair on the floors and in the beds. The final room had bloody tissues in a garbage that hadn’t been emptied. Clearly there is a BIG issue with lack of cleaning here which was especially frustrating when there are signs throughout the hotel claiming they hold the highest of cleaning standards.

Ok so when we arrived we couldn't check in because our room wasn't cleaned yet. No biggie, we went to dinner. When we came back to check in the fire alarms were going off, phones, we're down, internet wasn't working and we couldn't complete our check in eventhough we had already paid for the room online hours earlier. Then we get checked in finally and get to our room which has broken shades that won't close on the first floor of the hotel. So we ended up having to move rooms to a room that wasn't supposed to be closed for repairs. The pool was closed for maintenance which was the main reason we chose this hotel. Breakfast was decent. For the price we would have stayed at another hotel with a working pool and hot tub.

We were in the area exploring and hiking. We chose this location due to its reasonable proximity to our hiking locations. Rooms were clean. It’s close to restaurants. Appears updated. Pool for the kids. Breakfast was the usual eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, etc. Nothing fancy but was one would expect from a hotel in this category.
