Detailed Reviews
Hallway was dark with badly stained carpeting. The room was also very dark with only one overhead light at the far end. The staff were friendly but the checkin person did not wear a mask even though a sign was posted that masks are required for all staff and visitors. Most guests were also not wearing masks. The breakfast was very good and included ham, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, etc. the room was clean.

Thank you for your review. I am personally going through all the rooms here to check things like the lighting you mentioned. All our rooms should have at least 4 sources of lighting, not including the bathroom and vanity areas. Unfortunately mask enforcement was often met with hostility however that does not excuse staff from wearing them when mandated. I am glad you enjoyed the breakfast. We have made a few changes to make it even better! I will certainly follow through with looking how we can improve hallway lighting also. Thank you for taking the time to help us improve our hotel.

The customer service and amenities is what I would expect from a Wyndham property. With this being a lower price point, I knew it was going to have quirks. Does it need updated? Yes of course. But if you don't want to spend the price of a 4+ star hotel, you better not expect it to look like a 4+star hotel.

This property has possibilities but is need of some upgrades and TLC. The mattress was not comfortable to say the least and in need of replacement. The room had some nice features like microwave and minifridge and decent wifi, towels and bed linens were clean. The room carpet was not well vacuumed and evidence from previous occupants were on floor and around the bed. For the price we have stayed in much cleaner and better maintained rooms on our road trip. Staff was friendly and realize in this present situation they are short handed and unable to thoroughly cover all the bases. When the world is normal again will check the reviews before considering staying here on our next road trip through Baker City.

Thank you for your review, I appreciate your understanding in our staffing situation. Many business have the same issue in finding good employees. However, that does not excuse the cleanliness of your room. We are currently instituting new housekeeping policies and practices. The uncomfortable mattress is a concern because you came here to rest. Please contact me at 541-523-8282 or debi.super8@gmail.com so I can acquire your room number and discuss your stay with us. Thank you again for taking the time to review our property.

This motel is by far the best we have ever encountered! And we have been to Southern California to Oregon to Florida!!! The owner was a wonderful hostess! The room had 3 queen beds, (which was wonderful) and a sofa pull out!!! there were 5 in our family, the motel itself was clean extremely clean. The free breakfast couldn't have been better in any way! Cereal, toast, biscuits and gravy, coffee, juice, milk, tea, and much more every morning fresh! The owner was right there to replenish anything that was emptied. The swimming pool was very clean and the hot tub wonderful which was all inside, and opened from early morning to late in the evenings! Clean towels and bedding was provided every single day as much as we needed, and the laundry room had both washer and dryer. The staff was very nice, and the owner who was from India was most friendly and helpful any way she could be of service to us. We were not there on vacation. Our family had to drive from Reno, Nevada to Baker in a very cramped car to take care of business, so we had a lot of down time with kids. The pool helped so much! This motel is close to downtown, we walked on some days to the downtown area, and it was close to restaurants,, the Truck Corral is just across the street as the grocery store is also. We highly recommend this motel if you go to Baker City. It is excellent!!

My son and I were driving from Seattle to Denver. Planned on spending the first night here, so I called and made a reservation. Woman I spoke to was nice, and assured me she was signing me up for Wyndham rewards. Day of trip, I went to print out all relevant emails and realized I never got a confirmation. Called and was assured there was still a room. Gave them all of my info again, and received a confirmation #. Arrived at 8:00 p.m. after a day of driving. Guess what? No reservation. I told the bored looking man behind the desk that I have a confirmation #. His response? "We don't use confirmation numbers." In disgust I threw the slip of paper with the # in the trash and left as there were no rooms. Called every motel between Baker City and Boise. Because of holiday travel and a baseball tournament, there was only one room available on that whole corridor. I was forced to stay at a literal drug hotel in Nampa after driving two more hours. The kind where only one person can be buzzed into the office, clerk is behind plexiglass. No phone in room. Sink dripped. A literal menu of the prices they will charge you for breaking any items in the room. You get the picture. Guess what they charged me knowing my alternative was to sleep in the car with my son? $420 for the night. Cherry on top - I called Wyndham to complain. Representative said he could not verify that I ever had a reservation without the confirmation number! The one I threw away when the clerk told me Wyndham doesn't use them. This was a very costly mistake.

If I had a choice i would stay here everytime. It's always clean, there is a pool! And a hot tub. There's always hot water for a great shower. Clean towels. Clean bedding. You're basically treated as family when you stay here. Staff is super nice, owners are great! They have been very accommodating, patient and a phone call away if you need anything. There is free wifi, contenental breakfast, pets allowed for a small fee. I love this place I would recommend to anyone.

Air conditioner did not work in room, asked to fix it and they "said they worked on it" Returned from dinner, still not working. Contacted staff again and they "replaced" the unit with another one that didn't work. By then, they were "full" and could not move my son and family to another room. My son and family had an infant and were miserable due to the room temperature (I had booked five rooms for a family trip) Also the smoke detector in my room was taped over! They don't work well when they are covered!

Spent our hard earned money on a two night staycation here, the room was not clean when we checked in, there were several issues that should have been handled with regular maintenance. Missing outlet covers, hair in the bathroom, food and God knows what on the walls. We live here locally and I rented the room for my husband's birthday. We chose super 8 because of the pool and hot tub for our kids. The pool room was disgusting, there was toilet paper all over the walls and ceiling. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The hot tub was too nasty and murky to even step foot in. The bathroom was nasty, and the woman in charge took no responsibility whatsoever for the state of her establishment. Woke up to the room filled with exhaust from an idling diesel truck that was backed into the parking space outside our AC unit, overall not worth the money spent.

First, I would like to thank you for your review, I appreciate your feedback. Secondly, I would like to apologize for the experience you had at our hotel. This is no way the standard we want to represent. Unfortunately we do allow local kids to swim for a fee and two of them chose to vandalize our pool area. This does not excuse any of the concerns you have. We are taking corrective actions with our extremely small staff. Please contact me at our local number or debi.super8@gmail.com at your convenience.

The Breakfast and staff were both great. I am not able to eat anything with MSG and they checked all labels to be sure and I was able to eat anything provided. Usually I am not able to eat any sausage or gravy - was very nice to have the sausage gravy on biscuits.

I highly do NOT recommend staying at the Super 8 Motel, Baker City, OR. Address:250 Campbell Street. The bed was comfortable, but no laundry facility that I could find, and a grab and go breakfast that people with diabetes shouldn’t eat. Pretty pricy for what it had to offer. I would not have commented on this motel at all, but the following changed my mind. At 9 P.M., I went from the pool to my room. The room was hot because my air conditioner stopped working. I went to the on-duty clerk and said I needed his help. In a bit of a terse tone, he asked what he could do for me. When I told him about the AC, he said he had NO MAINTENACE staff on duty (mind you, this is a Friday). So I ask for a fan. He has no fan. So I am angry and basically say that I can’t believe a motel could offer such poor service. So he tells me he will give me my money back and I can check out. RIGHT- it is a weekend, I am on a motorcycle, it’s late, and I’m sure I’d have a terrible time finding somewhere else to go. And there is no elevator, and my buddy and I have a lot of gear to repack and it is two flights of stairs to the main floor. The following morning, the actual manager was still on duty and I explained to her what happened. She was very disappointed with the clerk’s performance and told me the “no maintenance” statement was ridiculous as she has on call maintenance EVERY weekend. So the clerk lied, and that fact upsets me greatly. In shear desperation, I did unplug the unit for a few minutes, and plugged it back in. Fortunately, it reset! But like I said, I don’t like liars. Thus, this review.

We paid $75 per night in mid- March 2015. Parking is at the periphery of the structure. Find out where your room is, and according to its location you park either close to the front or the back entrance. The front desk staff was very helpful. They pointed out where it would be best for us to park. If you have problems with stairs, ask for a room on the ground floor!
