Hotel's Favourite
Clean, comfortable room (we had the king bed), friendly staff, and excellent price. The rooms are not new, but ours had refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, remote controlled A/C with thermostat, and cable TV with on demand streaming. Great location for a home base during Port Clinton / Lake Erie visit.

We stayed for one night, so I didn't use things like the television to review. Though the TV did look new and modern. We just weren't there long enough to need to watch it. I'll base this review on my onw night's experience. I reminded myself this is only costing me $113 for the night and that was the lens I was looking through. We go to Port Clinton and/or Put In Bay every year. This was a last-minute trip. We have stayed in many different establishments. Upon arriving, we checked in. Check-in was extremely easy. We were given a key and instructions for check out. The woman at the counter (maybe the owner) was extremely friendly and let us know she was available. She gave us a phone number to reach her. We stayed in room 1. We went to our room and my husband reset the clock since it was blinking. When we returned from Put In Bay the clock was blinking again. Everything on the powerstrip was off until the lights were turned on. With some experimentation, we figured out that if you just leave the big light switch (when you walk in the door) on and turn off the lights at the actual light, the electricity on the powerstrip stays on. This was important because we both have sleep apnea and needed to run our machines all night. Once we figured out that mystery, the rest was a breeze. I'm mentioning this because I saw in an earlier review that someone had a problem with this. I felt like a lot of love was. put into running the place, the flowers outside the lounge were beautiful. We were only there a night so I had no reason to go into the lounge, but I did enjoy the flowers. I also appreciated the floors. I have stayed at many hotels and everyone has had carpeted floors. If you have issues with mold and mildew carpeted floors can mess you up. I am one of those people who has such an issue, so I was so happy to see the floors were not like that. Our only real issue was the beds and that could partially be chalked up to be our own fault. We had to sleep in separate beds. We are not small people and the bed was small. Also, there was only one nightstand it was in between the full-size and the twin-size bed, and as I said we both have to wear sleep apnea masks at night. I think if there had been a larger bed with nightstands on each side, the room would have been equal to Island House rooms except that it isn't in the middle of town. My husband works with computers and electricity and was troubled that the wall socket moved a bit and with the way the strip was up. So, I guess there were two things we found troubling. However. This room was not expensive and I've stayed in rooms that were close to this that cost much more. Check-out was even easier than check-in. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to save money.

Previous positive reviews could not have come from people who have actually stayed here! We had the "king" suite. Where to begin - could barley walk into the office as the steps were over grown with weeds. The grass on front of our room desperately needed to be cut. Let's go inside the room. One working light bulb in the whole room. The bathroom is falling off the wall. The shower is so tiny you can't move once you are in it. If you leave the bathroom door open it blocks the door to the room. We told the owner several times that the window air conditioner wasn't working. When the room reached 86 my husband went to the office and she said well it's supposed to provide cold air - told us to unplug it and plug it back in. It was very old but seemed to help. There is a section of the floor that feels like you are going to go through it when you walk on it and makes shifting noises when no oneis on it! NEVER AGAIN!!

Our previous reviews are from guests who have stayed with us. We do not have a king suite or suites of any type. You booked a standard king room in an independent economy class motel. It is indeed our smallest room. Your air conditioner was working when I went into your room while you were out and provided the 2 extra lamps you requested along with 2 tables. I want my guests to be comfortable, and i hope they helped. The lamp on the credenza was working as was the the one of the two reading lamps. I am sorry that one of the bulbs burned out, I changed it . Your husband requested a fan as well which was provided. I said I would be happy to come take a look at resetting the timer on the ac but he said he thought he could handle it. He brought the fan back because he said the air conditioner was working very well . I have no idea what the sound you heard was, I went to the room and checked it over and did not have that experience or find a soft spot on the floor anywhere but I thank you for reporting that and we will keep an eye on it. I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay.

Accommodations were clean and comfortable in this 1950s style motor court. Front desk staff were welcoming as well. Nightly rates were very reasonable, especially considering how much room rates have increased in the lodging industry this year.

We have returned here yearly when we come up for a fishing trip. The rooms are wonderful! Good beds, plenty of hot water and water pressure in the shower. They have a really good ice maker in their community room so you can get plenty of ice to keep your fish nice and cold. The fish cleaning facility they provide is great for do it yourselfers like us. We always grill the evening after our trip. We enjoy the peace and quiet as apposed to being in the downtown area of PC. The staff at check in is very helpful and let you know if you have any issues you can call them for assistance. Just a wonderful place all around.

Stayed on a fishing trip with my brother and nephew. These people are great and the location is convenient. Launch ramp to Portage River is right next door. Rooms are very clean and beds are extremely comfortable. Planning on another trip to the area in May and will stay here.

Nice clean hotel and campground that is an excellent place for guys on a fishing trip. I highly recommend it for that. While there's not a thing bad about the place, prissy women won't like it. Probably isn't fancy enough for them.😁

Thank you for your review. It is true that we cater to the fishing crowd. We have found that folks coming to the area for many things from fishing and bird watching and competitive shooting to wine tourism and arts events, enjoy our facility and appreciate the value. We are glad you found us and look forward to seeing you again! OH! and prissy women should ask about some of our newly renovated rooms with wood look flooring, up to date furnishings and artwork by local artists!
