The hotel was much the same as any other premier inn, but no onsite restaurant, but did serve breakfast. The twin room I booked for myself and my grown daughter was up to the usual good standard of cleanliness but the single bed was very noisy and creaky waking me often. The exterior of the hotel needed a gardener with grass up to our knees and a good sweep required. The Toby carvery in the car park, provided an average evening meal, tho items on the menu unavailable, but also looked neglected and in need of a good coat of paint, you couldn’t use the outdoor seating due to long grass. First impressions not good, and even if down to Tony carvery it made the premier inn look bad
One night stay but five star experience, from the moment we arrived until the time we left we received excellent, smiling friendly service from the staff; Kimbo on reception and Jack at breakfast in particular. We were in the area to make a long awaited visit to a relative in a care home that had been shut since Christmas due to another extended outbreak of covid 19. Consequently we didn’t spend a lot of time at the hotel. However, we had a comfortable, quiet night’s sleep and a good breakfast that was cooked to order. Easy to find from the motorway and located in a residential area this would be a good base for a short stay to explore the north east. Perhaps the next door Toby carvery isn’t the best place for an evening meal but there’s plenty of choice in nearby Washington, Birtley and Chester le Street.…
Stayed on a Saturday night to visit Beamish. Nice easy 15 minute drive to Beamish so great location for us. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival, we arrived late after a busy day out and went to the Toby carvery for a quick drink. There is no pub / restaurant attached to the premier inn, the Toby was fine for a drink but not our cup of tea for food! We has breakfast in the premier inn breakfast room which was excellent, great service and nice food. Would highly recommend. We will definitely book to come here again when next visiting Beamish.
My 6 year old daughter wanted to go to a hotel for the night for her birthday so I booked something local as we live in Washington. We were looked after by Kimbo and Jack from the moment we arrived, nothing was too much for them. They made a fuss over my daughter, really looked after us all the way through our stay. Polite, friendly and helpfully staff. A beautiful clean room, big enough for the two of us with TV and coffee/tea facilities, a lovely peaceful and comfortable night sleep. Breakfast was to die for, out of this world. The chef even asked if everything was ok and if my daughter wanted more scrambled egg. We've been here twice and will definitely come again. Booking, checking in and out was quick and easy.
As a family, we've stayed in many Premier Inns and this one stood out. The people working here are so friendly and the service and breakfasts were the best we have ever had. You know what to expect frem a Premier Inn but the genuine and passionate people working in the hotel made our stay. We never like to stay the same place twice but we'll make an exception for this hotel. Thank you for making our stay for our daughters birthday excellent
