Booked the hotel to go to a grimsby town football match (Grimsby Town.1 - Northampton Town.1) as I won free tickets on sky vip, car parking round the back, easy check In and very friendly staff, comfy twin room with good TV and tea making facilities, the windows didn't open which I like and air con was a bit cold and had to keep changing the temp, bathroom nice but the shower wasn't a power shower and door leaked, ok tho, plug had to be twisted open to let the sink empty, good staff tho who booked our cab as football ground in cleephorpes a few miles away, had a pint before bed and an ok breakfast, food not that hot buy plenty to choose and car parking is £9 but if you leave and go back later its another £9!!! So be warned, the Town centre is just across the train tracks with plenty of pubs.…
We stayed for 4 nights. Usually we stay at a different hotel in Grimsby. However we were very pleased with the hotel . It was clean, up to date, good housekeeping and lovely breakfast. The staff were very helpful and friendly especially Lucy. The only disappointments were not much in way of vegetarian breakfast and only scrambled egg on menu. The main disappointment was the car park. Paying extra to park the car and no warning beforehand was a big no for us, we are both registered disabled so needed to be near entrance and as pensioners we can't really manage hidden extra charges. So as much as we really enjoyed the hotel and facilities, we may have to resort to our original hotel next month unless we can use the car park without extra charge.
Probably the 6th time we have stayed here. This is the best hotel in Grimsby for this price range. Rooms large and beds comfy. Hotel immaculately clean. Bar area and breakfast area spacious. Staff very efficient and friendly. Thank you. We will return
Elaine and mark on reception were amazing ! 100% recommend. Nicest people I have ever met ! Made my stay 100 times better. Best receptionist I have ever come across. I’ve had an amazing night. Booked last minute and I’ve had a great time !
Car Park was on site but was surprised they charged £9 for the night. Room was cheap as chips so perhaps this is the trade off. Friendly welcome and clean, perfectly functional hotel room. Breakfast was ok but hot choice was not very varied. Location is handy for town centre and station. Did everything that was required.
Arrived at the hotel £9 in Grimsby to park the car 12 hours - not acceptable really . Went to first room good first impression but toilet kept running water . Went to reception told it’s a design fault - so thought hotel was new and hadn’t been sorted. Helpful guy came up said he’d sorted it however next flush the same. Went to reception and they moved us rooms. Next room - very clean hoe er when having a shower the door didn’t close and came in on you result shower water all over the bathroom floor ! Plus the square sink didn’t not flush away shaving residue and it couldn’t so sink a real mess after use. The hotel allows dogs woke this morning to a dog running down the aisle between the rooms and barking ! On way to breakfast some people came out if their room leaving the dog in it loose whom then barked like hell as they shut the door . Sunday morning at 8.30am . Many dogs here not separated from normal hotel guests it seems - not sure about this at all. Breakfast no sanitation and a self service operation - not good when the covid rates going up - why I ask myself ? However breakfast offer very good! Not a great stay will not be going back…
When I drove towards the hotel I became a tad concerned after noting the surrounding area that was looking run down and need of some serious TLC. However, upon entering the hotel I was pleasantly surprised with how fresh, clean l, spacious and modern the place looked. The express brand can be a bit hit or miss sometimes l, but this didn’t disappoint. Friendly and helpful welcome. Decent food (albeit basic). Breakfast in the morning was fresh and tasty. Well kept rooms with decent space and comfort. Stayed for two nights whilst waiting to head offshore. A nice experience.
We stayed here while visiting cleethorpes scooter rally, the hotel is nice and quiet and very clean, and I would have given 5 stars but the breakfast was poor, I would however like to single out 1 member of staff that was very helpful and always had a smile, her name was jasmine, she was literally doing everything, check in, bar, cleaning, answering the phone and also dealing with our enquiries and booking our taxis, not once did the pressure get to her and it’s an absolute pleasure to see someone work so hard and be completely professional throughout.
Stayed here for one night as part of work. although bit depressing looking area from outside next to railway station the hotel itself is lovely modern and clean. Staffs are very helpful. Breakfast was good not as extensive but adequate. I would not be hesitant to stay here again. But £9 car park for one night not good.
Upon checking in two twin rooms for a night, the Hotel Reception tried to charge an extra £50 on top of the £199 quoted when booking. The Duty Manager came out and reduced the extra charge to £20. Having been a returning customer, I find this appalling service. I have to say that the staff were most polite whilst robbing me of the extra £20. We have rebooked a forthcoming stay in Grimsby to a different hotel and will not be returning? Avoid if you don't want to be ripped off!!
