Detailed Reviews
This is a very nice B&B with a very friendly reception from the proprietor, and comfortable clean rooms. The layout is quite different, being spread across various bits of the building at first floor level, but no worse for that. Slept very well in a comfortable and warm bed: we had no noise problems in our room apart from the rain hammering down outside!
It's right in the centre of Yarmouth very near to good pubs and restaurants.
Breakfast was excellent - the 'full English' had big portions and with good alternative choice of continental style on offer and as much coffee etc as you could want.
The only negative about breakfast was that the vegetarian version is simply the normal 'full English' minus the sausages and bacon! Ask for extra tomato, mushrooms or beans and a second egg!

We haved stayed here twice now and both times it has been a pleasure, good tidy clean rooms with ensuite showers, a warm welcome and a monster breakfast, the fact it's above cost cutter made no difference to us no noise problems and plenty of places to eat locally as its right on the Yarmouth square.

This B&B has been renovated and does not now reflect the 2010 review that Willowblue gave. The we had was clean and beautifully decorated. The en-suite was a really good size. The breakfast was wonderful - and BIG! Sausages from their own farm (bacon too, I think). Yes, the B&B IS on top of a deli, but it wasn't noisey at all. The room overlooked the town square and we had wonderful views of the entertainment going on in the square at Old Gaffers. Sarah, who manages it, couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Give it a try and stay here.

This is a difficult review to write, because I normally only write positive reviews. However, we were encouraged to book rooms here after reading good reviews and I think other potential guests should have an honest opinion before deciding to stay at Harvey's. I cannot speak for the rooms in the main building, which may have been perfectly fine, but we were put in an annexe which was accessed via a steep metal fire escape stairway. The first problem occurred because there was no-one in the shop below to show us our rooms. We spent some time going through the main building looking for rooms 5 and 6, and even a member of staff didn't know where they were. Eventually, we found the door (tricky lock) and entered our room; the door opened rather worryingly onto the bathroom - basin to the left, loo to the right, with the bedroom beyond that. The bedroom itself was fine, comfy bed and good quality bedding. But there was no hot water in the basin tap, the shower controls didn't work, so the temperature went from scalding to freezing and back again. My sister's toilet was not attached to the wall securely. The owner had told me on the phone earlier that morning that he wouldn't be around, and had no housekeeper at the moment so breakfast would be taken at The Bugle pub along the road. When we arrived the waitress was not happy to see us 'We keep getting guests we are not expecting' she said. We were left for a long time, scrambled eggs were burned, no cereals or juices were offered, and we left feeling rather dissatisfied with our bed and breakfast experience. We paid £135 for 2 rooms for one night and were unable to discuss this with the owner as he was not there. I did write to him immediately afterwards to give him the opportunity to respond to our concerns, and he did refund £20 for the poor breakfast experience, but I did say that for this money we normally have a memorable stay - this was truly memorable but not in the right way.

It was a slight surprise that Harvey’s sits above the Costcutter supermarket in the small, charming square in Yarmouth. Don’t let this put you off, this is a great place to stay.
The welcome we got from Sarah was perfect.
We were there to do a bike race and their garage had been specially cleared out to give us safe, secure storage.
Sarah’s mum even made us her special home-made porridge for breakfast which is the perfect cycling energy food, and we could have had a full-English if we wanted. Cereals, fruit juices, tea, toast or coffee were all laid on.
The fact that there is a proper dining room, overlooking the square makes Harvey’s seem more like a small hotel rather than a conventional B&B. There is even a separate guest’s lounge with a massive TV which is very rare for a B&B.
We had two good-sized rooms; spotlessly clean with lots of space and flat screen TVs, good showers with white fluffy towels and soaps and moisturisers.
There are about half a dozen great places to eat within one minute’s walk and the ferry terminal is literally two minutes away.
In one word: faultless and we would definitely stay again.

We arrived here while doing the round the island walk.
Firstly the positive, When we arrived, the owner was pleasant and, as the room assigned to us wasn't ready and there were other rooms free, let us have the bigger room with a sofa and an en suite.
The other positive is the breakfast but as that is provided by the Bugle just along the square then this is not really in Harvey's control and they were only expecting us because we checked the night before.
The communal areas are horrendous, there is a lot of building work still to do, bare wires and bits of flooring that need to be finished.
The arrival was chaotic, there is a door with a bell and a phone number, neither were answered. Fortunately the shop underneath had someone who was able to help us. Despite the room upgrade, this was a room that the ceiling light did not work and the en-suite was only superficially clean.
I would not stay here again, oh yes and the diary in the communal area has the bookings with customers phone numbers in it. I did mention when we left on the note saying about the light that this is not really GDPR compliant.

Attributes are spacious room off main square with good ventilation . However bed was very old and hence lumpy / un comfortable . More particularly shower cubicle had much mould and four or five tiles were detaching from the wall .The remaining bathroom area was minute with just a tiny hand wash basin . Owner management acknowledged it needed investment but that seems unlikely this year

Very comfy bed and lovely room. I love having a bath, so I did miss it (shower only)... But the room really was gorgeous. Hostess very friendly, and welcoming. All mod cons provided, too. Would def recommend.

We stayed at this B and B for one night over Easter. Sarah was very welcoming and when I called to book asked what time we would be arriving so she was expecting us first thing in the morning. The location was great right in the centre of town. The room was perfect, decent size, clean, neat and comfortable. On Easter Sunday we were late for breakfast thinking it ended at 10.30 not ten, however a table was set up with two large Easter Eggs waiting for us to take home. Sarah didn't seem to mind that we were late and provided us with the full works of an English breakfast which was much appreciated. Would most certainly stay here again.

I had a very comfortable room overlooking The Square. The bed was a small double and the room had a small en-suite shower and toilet. Breakfast was wonderful and a true English with good quality bacon and sausages. The whole place was beautifully warm and cosy.
I stayed for one night for a cycling event and Sarah, the hostess, made room for our bikes in a garage to the rear of the property. Highly recommended as is the pub a few doors down.
