We identified Lucketts Farm Campsite via the Camping and Caravanning Club website. On arrival we rang the bell and were greeted by Steve who was very helpful and welcoming. Steve told us that we could park アビー our Toyota Alphard camper anywhere we liked. The first thing that we noticed was the immaculate condition of the campsite, with flat well-cut grass which meant we didn’t need to use our levellers. There were only two other units on the site which gave us plenty of options for our location. We chose to locate near the centre of the field close to an electrical hook-up point which was easy to connect to giving us full access to the circuit breakers.

Being only too aware that a major storm was imminent we quickly configured アビー for sleep mode while it was still dry. After a quick visit to the spotless facilities, we turned in for the night. As the darkness rolled in the lightning started; primarily sheet lightning which was very intense giving us a magnificent lightshow. The layout of Lucketts field provides some protection from the wind so we didn’t get rocked too much and were able to enjoy the continuous bursts of sheet lightning through our sunroof.

Thanks for looking after us Steve.

We decided to camp at Lucketts farm to try out our new tent and recently purchased campervan. We initially booked for two nights but the site and facilities were so good that we stayed another two nights. We were welcomed by Steve and Caroline who were the best hosts ever, they were very tentative and friendly, nothing was too much to ask. The facilities were clean and everything was on site that is needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely go back again.

We stayed for a week in August, we received a friendly welcome and found the site to have a laid-back and friendly atmosphere. The facilities were excellent and always clean, I was particularly impressed with the shower rooms which were big enough to shower a child while keeping myself and their clothes dry! Even with large groups, the campsite did not become noisy and there was a large area where children were able to play football together. We will definitely return and have recommended the site to our friends and family.

The site is a large flat field beside the busy and noisy A3058 main road.
The owners were very friendly but didn’t enforce the site rules resulting in dogs not being on leads and on one occasion, there was dog mess outside of our tent. Some of those staying did not observe the “quiet after 10pm” request and on our penultimate night a large family group of 3 or 4 Motorhomes/ tents pitched up right next to us with flashing fairy lights and barking dog even though they had been allocated a large pitch on the opposite side of the field but close to the road. We ended up taking down our tent late at night and moving across to the other side of the field but close to the very noisy road just to get away from them. Unfortunately, we could still hear them talking loudly until well after midnight. This was despite the owners saying that they would talk to them as they knew them well and were regular visitors.
As a result of the above we went home a day early and despite the owners promising a refund for our last night we have never received it.

The toilets and showers were very clean but because the shower cubicle was so small there was nowhere dry to get dressed and so we ended up getting dried and dressed in the toilet communal area – hoping that no one came in while you had no clothes on.

Although this site is shown as a Camping and Caravan Club Certified Location with up to 5 Motorhomes or Caravans, when we were staying there were often up to 10 of these in addition to tents, so not the small, quiet site we were expecting.

We are sorry you feel this way about your stay with us. Yes, there is a main road, but the site is set well back from the road with another field in-between. At no time did you complain about dog mess outside your tent or about the small shower changing area. We have new shower and toilet blocks for next year, as we too feel they were cramped, so at our first opportunity these have been replaced. We did speak to the other guests as promised, but we are sad to see that you didn't mention in your review that both my husband and I spent considerable time that evening, on the phone, trying to arrange you a bed and breakfast, at our expense, as an apology that you had been disturbed. Had to made contact with us before you left, we would have refunded your one night's camping, however, if you give us a call, we will gladly refund you. Yes numbers were slightly over as we had family staying, but rest assured this has been discussed with the club. Thank you for taking the time to place your review, our first negative review in three years!

A lovely little campsite! If you’re looking for a peaceful, quiet stay, this is definitely the place for you! We just camped there for one night whilst visiting the Yarmouth area, and had a lovely time! The facilities (toilets, showers, washing up area) were all very clean and well maintained, and there was also recycling facilities (and normal bins) on site, as well as many electrical hook ups for those who need them!
We had everything we needed there - we walked there from Yarmouth centre and it was easy to find. We also was able to walk to the local pub (The Horse and Groom), so things are still easily accessible by foot.
Really recommend staying here! Lovely site and we felt very welcomed yet had a nice level of privacy.

We would thoroughly recommend this very clean, well run, dog friendly site with good facilities. Very convenient for the Wightlink Ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth and a great location for touring the Island. The owners are extremely friendly and easy going allowing you to select your own pitch, (which are extremely large), and very much leave you to do your own thing. We have just enjoyed a ten day stay with Caroline and Steve and would definitely re-visit on our next trip to the Isle of Wight.

Second weekend camping here, superb campsite, very clean, felt very safe as had heaps off space in our group.
(Only 6 of us but 4 vans between us all)
The owners are so friendly and make sure everyone is OK, even ran extra electric leads so we could set up in a gorgeous corner next to a tranquil pond.
Price was extremely reasonable.
Couldn't fault facilities, again, very clean, all the covid secure measures in place.
We highly recommend this campsite.
Thanks so much Steve and Caroline.

We have stayed here two years running, and cannot speak highly enough of the site and the owners Steve & Caroline.

From the moment you make a booking here, help is on hand, even with ferry bookings if needed.

The site is a small level, and very quiet site, with Clean toilets and shower facilities. There is electric hook up if needed and depending on how busy the site is at the time they are pretty easy going as to where you pitch up.

All through our stay they did everything to make sure our stay was perfect.
They even walk round the site most days to check on all the guests.
Also on your last day they will also come to see you before you leave, which we felt goes way beyond what most sites do.

The first year(last year) we only stayed for 7 days, but this year we has to stay longer, and stayed for 10 days.

We can highly recommend here for a quiet and relaxing holiday, and we will be returning!

This campsite is just perfect. Beautiful flat field, great location in the countryside yet close enough to Yarmouth for a great day/night out and a bus stop right outside so you go anywhere on the island. Great amenities. Caroline and Steve are fabulous hosts always going that extra bit further to ensure their guests have a wonderful stay. Yes, its near a main road but its a quiet road for the Island. We have never had noisey neighbouring campers but people are on holiday enjoying themselves so its expected! We are going back for our third visit this year and cannot recommend Lucketts Farm Campsite enough.
