Detailed Reviews
I made a flying visit to the IoW, and looking for somewhere to stay close to Queen Victoria's Osborne House but within walking distance of Cowes this seemed like the perfect location. Owners David and Marde are lovely people, and they had fully prepared themselves to welcome guests in a new socially distanced version of Crossways House.
The B+B is very interesting and quaint, I was staying in the main house so can't comment on the four lodge rooms a few metres from the house but the garden between the two parts of the property was very nice. Breakfast in the morning was very nice, David cooks and has a wide offering available including full english/pancakes/fruits/cereal/porridge. The social distancing measures did make the experience slightly weird, with less people visiting I only saw one other guest during my time there, but David and Marde still made sure I had a nice time and were happy to help with any requests.
They also have an adorable golden retriever called Sunny who loves the lounge in the garden and in the hallway which was a nice surprise. If I'm ever heading back to the island I'll probably check in to see if there's a room available.

Went to the Island for a few days for our first wedding anniversary and took our dog with us to Crossways.
When we got there had been upgraded to the house in a room with the four poster bed - LOVELY!
Breakfast fantastic fresh fruit was waiting at your table with cereal, yoghurts available followed by a basket with croissants brought to your table then the menu choosing from full english, omlette of your choice or pancakes...huge breakfast and food was fantastic!
Service was great very pleasant couldn't do enough for you and although the rain was terential the whole time we were there crossways made our visit pleasant despite the weather.

We have been to Crossways twice- once in June 2004 and once in September 2005. Both times were good- but would recommend the rooms inside the house as they are more comfortable. The breakfast was lovely- fluffy blueberry pancakes with maple syrup- in a room overlooking the pretty garden. We haven't eaten in the restaurant but the sandwiches we ordered to eat in our room were very tasty! Room was spacious and comfortable and the hosts (plus their dog Georgie) are very welcoming! The B&B is opposite Osbourne House and there is a bus stop 1 minute away for those without a car.

We were welcomed with tea and scones in the garden and the service continued from there. The owners are very warm and aim to make you feel as comfortable as possible. It is a truly beautiful B&B. Breakfast is fantastic a cooked to order delight. The rooms are stunning, large comfortable beds, a lovely bathroom. This is a fantastic place to stay.

I stayed here in May of 2006.
I went to the Isle of Wight to attend the RIbex show for work.
It was my first time in the UK and decided to take my mother along for the ride as a mother's day gift.
Let me tell you, the property and the proprietors should be the poster children for the UK.
We were picked up at the ferry on east cowes (after 24 hrs of non stop- including a very rude and uncomfortable 12 hr virgin air flight- travel w/ 3 large suitcases) and wisked away to a slice of heaven.
The house is quaint and picturesque. The garden is immaculate and when you walk in you immediately feel at home.
We were taken up to our very spacious room, which was absolutely gorgeous.
There was tea, coffee and chocolates waiting for us, and I sipped some tea as I overlooked the beautiful field of yellow flowers just outside our window.
We planned on going out to dinner that night but we managed to sleep way past sunset.
We ate dinner there every night, and each night was fantastic. I am a die hard foodie and am very picky about other people's food, there was no need here. Marde is an AMAZING cook.
Breakfast every morning was spot on. The first morning I had freshly made blueberry pancakes- I never eat pancakes- I hate 6 that morning.
The beds are super super comfortable- to the point where I had a hard time getting up for work in the mornings.
Our bathroom was insuite (I believe they all are). It was very spacious (at least twice the size of my bathroom at home), and very modern. The shower was well stocked with anything you might have forgotten and the towel warmer was heavenly. And guess what, the floor in the bathroom was warmed also- its the best feeling to wake up and walk barefoot onto a warm floor in the loo ;).
The house is at an ideal location as the bus stop is a 2 minute walk down the road. You can take the bus to down town wight- fantastic grocery store.
long story short- you definitely need to stay here and eat here- ask for the 4 poster room- its fabulous.

We stayed here for a few days commencing, August 22nd 2016. It was a very enjoyable, comfortable, convenient and relaxing stay. Crossways House is just a few minutes walk from Osborne House and a few minutes drive from the East Cowes Ferry. This B&B is traditional and provided us with very good accommodation, our room was sufficiently large, with a wonderfully large and comfortable bed. Our room was in the main house, first floor, facing rear/side with views over the back garden, pond with koi carp, dovecote with doves and a sprawling cereal field.
The only drawback was traffic noise from the main road.
The proprietors were welcoming, friendly and helpful, but also discreet, allowing us privacy and flexibility.
Breakfast was excellent, plenty of variety available to choose from each morning, which included freshly prepared fruit and full English. All in all a really good place to stay, I would highly recommend it and I would like to stay again some time.

The B&B is in a great location opposite Osborne House and just up the road from Cowes. We had a very friendly welcome from David and the lodge room we had was very comfortable. Extra points for freshly baked cookies and muffins in the room and at breakfast!

We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend and it was a lovely place to stay with excellent breakfast.
We were upgraded to one of the four poster rooms which had lots of space, a lovely view over the fields and a nice bathroom. It was comfy and ideal for us. It's also a brilliant location for all areas of the Isle of Wight.
The hosts David and Marde were lovely and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. They had thought of all the little extra touches such as homemade cookies in the room, freshly baked muffins or scones at breakfast and dressing gowns in the room.
The best full English breakfast we have had, locally sourced, cooked fantastically and presented well. Definitely would recommend this place!

just spent two wonderful nights at crossways house,it was our first time visiting the isle of wight, the main attraction for us was to visit osborne house and we couldn"t have picked a better place to stay, crossways is practically opposite the entrance gates, our room was spacious and very comfortable with a large four poster bed,the quality of the food here is something else, absolutely first class, and nothing was too much trouble ,the standards of hospitality, food, and comfort was second to none and the isle of wight is a place well worth a visit, its like stepping back 20 years in the nicest of ways, the model village at godshill is worth a visit,as is shanklin and ventnor,& with ihe island being only 23 miles across it never takes long to get to your next place to visit.
