Detailed Reviews
What a wonderfully warm welcome and fantastic food, super clean and stylish room and fab location for exploring the forest. We stayed in the Cowshed which was great - a slight surprise that the en-suite didn't have a door but was a cool design behind a wall partition - some may find that a little less private than they'd prefer if sharing the room. Would highly recommend staying here. The owner also put our bikes in a locked area to the side of the house which was very thoughtful and helpful. COVID aware and had the window open in the breakfast room and well spaced tables. We recommend the £3.95 map from the Lyndhurst tourist information place which is waterproof and has the numbered cycle and walking posts on all the main routes, so the only guide we needed. Ate out at The Fox and Hounds and Surfing Moo Moo which are a 5 minute walk away, food great at both, not cheap and portion sizes in the Fox were quite small. Recommend afternoon tea & cake in the small garden of the Thatched Hotel in Brockenhurst.

We stayed in the Pig Sty and had a separate booking for our other family member in the horse box. Great rooms, nicely furnished, refreshments and toiletries provided which were much appreciated. Lovely bathroom and bedroom area, very clean and tidy. Although B&B just set back from a road, the traffic could not be heard.
Social distancing was well managed and hand sanitisers and gels available for use, masks worn by all during transfers to and from rooms/breakfast areas. Breakfast and choices had been set up and well thought through to minimise handling and taking into account covid etc. (Individual bowls of prepared fruit and milk/tea/coffee direct to the individual tables etc). All very well planned to ensure full choices remained available.
Breakfast comes with a range of traditional to salmon and eggs, all absolutely delicious and nothing too much trouble for Nick and Alison, the owners and hosts. They have a lot of local knowledge and suggestions to offer if so required. They are very kind and accommodating and it was an absolute pleasure of a stay. We have already booked another stay to return in the next few weeks.
Local amenities are plenty and there are a range of places to wine and dine but always best to book in advance and this advice was given to us by Nick himself along with other places to try and visit. Beulieu was a great place to go for the day, so much more than the cars/bikes museum. Brockenhurst for the ponies with many of the parks for parking and walking or just for a picnic or snooze. Milford for access to the sea, car parking and ice creams etc.
The central location of the B&B to all surrounding areas makes for a good place to stay and with Nick and Alison, the breakfasts and the size of the beds, this really is somewhere I would recommend a stay.

+1
Accommodation was clean, well furnished and comfortable. We stayed in the largest room at the front of the house and the beds were really comfortable and it had a smart modern bathroom with a great shower. The owner was friendly and gave us good recommendations regarding cycle routes in the new forest and local restaurants etc. We had breakfast on our last day and it was very nice. We also had safe and secure storage for our bikes. Location is ideal for local amenities.

Great central Lyndhurst location, with driveway parking for up to 4/5 cars.
Warm welcome by Nick on arrival.
A well presented room (The Horsebox) hairdryer, coffee/hot chocolate/tea, biscuits and bottled water complimentary. Given the recent warm temperatures, a free-standing fan was already in place and greatly appreciated for a comfortable night sleep. Comfy white linen bedding, with supportive pillows and cushions. The bathroom is on the 'slim' side, but adequate for a short stay, with fluffy towels and toiletries to use. Iron and ironing board provided on request.
Breakfast was served in the dining room, with a spread of fresh fruit, cereals, jams and yoghurts. Delicious, locally sourced food cooked to order. Gluten Free bread was provided as requested on booking.
Great location, hosts, accommodation just a few minutes walk from Lyndhurst high street. Will definitely return.

Nick and Alison are excellent hosts, helpful and amenable, giving advice on where to go and providing an early breakfast one day. Breakfast delicious and hot, good hospitality tray in your room and fresh milk in a fridge to help yourself to. We were in the Cow Shed which was comfortable but compact. There was no door on the bathroom but this didn’t worry us. We would probably plump for the Pig Sty if we went again as a little bigger. Nice, plentiful toiletries.
The main road in Lyndhurst was a 5 min walk with plenty of restaurants who were all making allowances for covid. We ate at the Fox and Hounds twice, surfin Moo Moo, La Pagola which although down the street, was still close enough to walk. The Crown was great for a drink after dinner as they had a comfortable lounge and library.
Also just off the main road is the road to beaulieu. This is like going into a park entrance with a road right through the forest area. A fabulous drive but also good to park free of charge, have a coffee and sit and watch the ponies or take a stroll.
We had lots of lovely days out, went to The Beaulieu estate for the day which is a great attraction with something for everyone. We drove to Milford on Sea where we parked in a pay and display and walked out to Hurst Castle, a walkway of around 2 miles, out into the Solent. A fabulous walk if you are fit and healthy but not an easy walk as on stones (need trainers). Lymington is a lovely town with a little waterfront and they also had a great miniature golf just past the ferry port. We had a day out on the Isle of Wight from here too. We took the car and the 10 am ferry out with a return at 7 pm seemed to work well timewise. Osborne House was a delight although the top floor of the house was closed due to covid restrictions. It was a bit disappointing that more history and information was not readily available so remember to ask the guides or get a guide book. Winchester was our last day out and Nick recommended this. The drive was only 35 minutes to the park and ride where you pay £2.50 for the car and all passengers. We got a walking tour leaflet from the guildhall tourist information where the bus drops you. This was informative with 2 easy walks of a mile. We found things we would have missed on our own and thoroughly enjoyed our day in a town with so must history.
A great holiday in a lovely part of the UK and no hesitation in recommending Lyndhurst House.

An outstanding B and B with charming and helpful owners. We stayed in Cow Shed at the back of the house. It was spotlessly clean( probably the cleanest B and B we’ve ever stayed in!) very comfortable superking sized bed, excellent shower room, large fluffy towels and good selection of coffee/ tea etc in the room, and curtains which keep the room lovely and dark. No residual noise from adjacent rooms. Although the B and B is on one of the main roads into Lyndhurst it is very quiet with easy parking on site. Great location for walking in to town ( 5 mins) or 3 mins to the owners local pub which serves good food and great selection of local beers.
Booking direct was very easy ( and cheaper than booking sites) and we think the B and B is great value for money. Check in was quick and easy and Alison was very welcoming on arrival, and made suggestions for where to eat. Breakfast was fab, so much choice with excellent quality local produce, all served by Nick who didn’t bat an eyelid at hubby asking for a 4th cup of coffee and extra toast!
This B and B is a great find, and we would recommend it wholeheartedly. We will certainly return!

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Lyndhurst House. We slept in the cosy attic room which had a super bathroom en suite with an enormous egg shaped bath. The Arbonne toiletries provided add a touch of luxury too. I had the full English breakfast both mornings and every ingredient was delicious and perfectly cooked by Alison, Nick hosts with aplomb! The location is perfect, being only a couple of minutes walk to the High Street where there is a range of good restaurants, pubs and shops.

Our room was decorated to a very high standard, spotlessly clean, with very good quality furniture, linens, bedding. Very comfortable bed and pillows, fluffy towels and high quality soap and shampoo. The containers are refillable, as are the contents on the tea and coffee tray, in glass jars, so no single use plastics to be seen.
The breakfasts were outstanding, Nick and Alison are superb hosts.
There was free parking at the property, and the centre of Lyndhurst village just a short walk away. Lyndhurst has lots of restaurants, bars, and plentiful independent tea and coffee shops. We’d definitely stay here again, and recommend to friends and family wanting somewhere in New Forest.

We stayed for two nights to celebrate a birthday. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted with a very warm welcome, making us feel very comfortable.
The room was cosy, spotless, and filled with all essentials including a variety of teas, coffee and hot chocolate. The spacious bed provided a great night’s sleep. A large bath in the bathroom, with all amenities, added a whole other level of relaxation.
Breakfast in the morning was made to order and delicious. The variety on offer was great, including vegetarian options.
The location is ideal, only a 3 minute walk into the centre of Lyndhurst. With a variety of pubs, restaurants and shops within a stone’s throw, everything is catered for. Being within the centre of the New Forest also, terrific towns and attractions are only 20 minutes away.
Our hosts were friendly and they really went out of their way to cater to our needs during our stay. I would highly recommend this B&B if you’re looking for a relaxing stay.

We had a very enjoyable two night stay in this stylish B & B which is conveniently located and is very well run by Nick and Alison. The room was spotlessly clean, had a very comfortable bed and an enormous bath with high quality toiletries. The tea and coffee making facility had a nice selection of drinks and some lovely biscuits.
A good choice of breakfasts are available and both the full English and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs were beautifully cooked and well presented.
This accommodation is truly a boutique B & B with classy furnishings and tasteful decorations.
The wifi signal in our room on the top floor at the side of the house was rather intermittent but workable.
Would highly recommend Lyndhurst House to any visitor to the area and we will stay again if we return to the New Forest.
