On our return unfortunately the car battery was flat having been stood for 2 months in bad weather but the receptionist Barbara was amazing making us really welcome while we waited for the RAC making us tea and coffee and making us comfortable out of the rain and cold.
I would highly recommend this hotel for value comfortable and its excellent staff
Arrived impossible to use wheelchair as the whole drive is gravel
On arrival told that the breakfast had been cancelled and replaced by a continental breakfast bag - I paid for a proper breakfast and told them I was on a carb free diet was told to five it away then!
Arrived at the room it was dark not very clean my wife wouldn't use the wardrobe it was so bad and curtains disgusting. Went to the the loo and flushed the toilet and my wife used the loo immediately after unable to flush called reception told to wait as it was a slow fill - 11 mins to flush again 11 minutes to fill for a flush!!!!
Honestly this is an aweful awful place with no thought for the needs of the guest and would recommend you find somewhere else
The price was spot on booked through booking.com would stay here again when visiting the isle of wight sailing from Southampton.
This hotel backs onto a country park, lovely leg stretch morning or afternoon.
We were greeted by a very pleasant and informative receptionist (Sue) who welcomed us with a smile.
Our twin room on the first floor was clean if a little tired. The water pressure was excellent, plenty of hot water and nice fluffy large towels.
Sue recommended dinner and a glass of wine at the restaurant across the garden at The Moldy Fig. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of delicious house red and an excellent supper served by a very nice waitress (Alicia) The quality of the food and drink was excellent and we very much enjoyed sitting on the terrace overlooking the stream under a beautiful mature oak tree.
The beds were very comfortable and the room acceptably quiet which was surprising as it overlooked the lawn where a wedding was in full swing.
As dinner had been so good, we decided to have breakfast. Again excellent and great value.
Sue was on duty again in the morning and had sorted a taxi for us to get to the airport on time. We were cheerfully waved off.
This hotel is excellent value for money. I understand some of the rooms have been refurbished. Ours was clean and perfectly acceptable for the price. Far and away the best thing about this hotel is the attitude of the staff. All of them seem happy in their work, polite, well informed and smiley. Well done all.
Kind regards
Bridget Jones xx
Bed was huge and so comfy!
Tea and coffee and biscuits provided and refilled the following morning.
Discovered Aircon didn't work but it wasn't massively hot so just had the window open. We were overlooking the back garden/marque and there were events on both evenings which we could hear from our room but all finished by about 10 ish so didn't bother us.
Shower was good and whilst I would prefer a shower head that is not fixed to the wall I was able to shower with no issues.
Breakfast was amazing although there was a large dog in there both mornings (believe he was something to do with the hotel as the dog and the owner went through an internal door). For me I wasn't keen of this large dog walking between the tables but others adored him so I only mention it so this review is fair and accurate.
Staff all friendly, check in and check out was easy.
Would stay again if I ever needed to be in Eastleigh.
