The Ellington Lodge is a really good boutique hotel which adjoins famous jazz and performance venue, the Concorde Club. The hotel is open to anyone, so you don't necessarily have to be going to a specific show in order to stay at the hotel. My wife and I were extremely impressed with the management and organization of the hotel side of the business. Friendly and helpful front desk staff and good-sized, well-equipped rooms. Unlike too many hotels in this part of the world, it was such a great pleasure walking into the room from some fairly poor weather and find that the room was toasty warm :-) A very good traditional English breakfast the next day was held in a wine bar which is attached to the Concorde Club venue. It's only a five minute walk from the hotel, but unfortunately the path and road don't have a good surface there, and you will also get wet unless you take an umbrella during inclement weather. This was the only thing knocking the score for from a perfect five to a good four! We would certainly be very happy to go back. Definitely recommended. A real gem.

My daughter and I spent a Friday night here after visiting friends and family locally. Although I’m originally from Swaythling, the road layout near the Concorde has changed beyond all recognition but we managed to find it after a bit of sat-nav confusion. Friendly welcome and sensible Covid 19 precautions on site. Our twin room was clean with comfortable beds and after the live music stopped at 9.30, really quiet. We’d been warned about the event outside which was very thoughtful but the reggae music was good🙂. Full English Breakfast in the Mouldy Fig was hot and tasty and the service was courteous and efficient. We will definitely be back.

We booked a cruise package at Ellington lodge (evening meal, bed and breakfast, parking for 55 nights and taxi too and from the cruise port) the stay prior to cruise was excellent, really nice evening meal friendly staff clean comfortable quiet and relaxing room. Lovely breakfast in the morning and a taxi was ordered for us to take us to the port.
On our return unfortunately the car battery was flat having been stood for 2 months in bad weather but the receptionist Barbara was amazing making us really welcome while we waited for the RAC making us tea and coffee and making us comfortable out of the rain and cold.
I would highly recommend this hotel for value comfortable and its excellent staff

So a few days before arrival informed hotel I was disabled and sometimes need a wheelchair could I please have an accessible room. Message back was no you have executive room boomed but there is a lift. Fair enough took that no problem
Arrived impossible to use wheelchair as the whole drive is gravel
On arrival told that the breakfast had been cancelled and replaced by a continental breakfast bag - I paid for a proper breakfast and told them I was on a carb free diet was told to five it away then!
Arrived at the room it was dark not very clean my wife wouldn't use the wardrobe it was so bad and curtains disgusting. Went to the the loo and flushed the toilet and my wife used the loo immediately after unable to flush called reception told to wait as it was a slow fill - 11 mins to flush again 11 minutes to fill for a flush!!!!
Honestly this is an aweful awful place with no thought for the needs of the guest and would recommend you find somewhere else

Last minute booking & wasn’t disappointed at all. Room clean, comfortable & covid compliant. Booked the breakfast & again wasn’t disappointed, tasty bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding, beans & eggs cooked to your choosing.

The price was spot on booked through booking.com would stay here again when visiting the isle of wight sailing from Southampton.

This hotel backs onto a country park, lovely leg stretch morning or afternoon.

We booked on the day. Was given a large double room for £59+breakfast. Was spotless. Beautiful large king size bed, really comfortable. This place has music of some kind on every week. Tribute acts, rock, soul, jazz and much more. Breakfast was fantastic, a good variety of food to suit everyone's taste, whether it be hot or cold. Staff were friendly and helpful Situated in a quiet location, not fat from train station, airport and motorways Car ride to a nice selection of shops, cafés and restaurants. Highly recommend this place.

We stayed here with our dog whilst attending a dinner and a show. The dinner and the show were fabulous, and the hotel was fantastic! Our dog loved it too, as we could pop in and out every hour, and take her for a walk around the grounds (we can't do that if we go out normally). The breakfast was the best too, and you can sit in the area saved for dog owners. Some say the hotel needs updating, but I think it adds to the character, definitely it was spotlessly clean and fresh. We will be staying there again!!

My daughter and I arrived from Southampton Airport train station having just had a bit of a nightmare journey from Somerset on our way to fly to france the following morning. The hotel is set in a lovely wooded area and is five minutes in a taxi from SOU airport.

We were greeted by a very pleasant and informative receptionist (Sue) who welcomed us with a smile.

Our twin room on the first floor was clean if a little tired. The water pressure was excellent, plenty of hot water and nice fluffy large towels.

Sue recommended dinner and a glass of wine at the restaurant across the garden at The Moldy Fig. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of delicious house red and an excellent supper served by a very nice waitress (Alicia) The quality of the food and drink was excellent and we very much enjoyed sitting on the terrace overlooking the stream under a beautiful mature oak tree.

The beds were very comfortable and the room acceptably quiet which was surprising as it overlooked the lawn where a wedding was in full swing.

As dinner had been so good, we decided to have breakfast. Again excellent and great value.

Sue was on duty again in the morning and had sorted a taxi for us to get to the airport on time. We were cheerfully waved off.

This hotel is excellent value for money. I understand some of the rooms have been refurbished. Ours was clean and perfectly acceptable for the price. Far and away the best thing about this hotel is the attitude of the staff. All of them seem happy in their work, polite, well informed and smiley. Well done all.

Kind regards

Bridget Jones xx

We stayed here as part of a package to see an event at the Concorde bed. Yes it might be ready for a refurb but the staff are really friendly and helpful, the bathroom we had was new and 5 star. Although the rooms are older in style they are fully equipped with tea/coffee biscuits etc and the beds and bedding incredibly comfortably. Best nights sleep I’ve had in a hotel for a long time. Walls are slightly thin so you can hear next door, however it didn’t really disturb us as we didn’t get back to our room until 11.30pm and there is a notice for quiet between 12-7am and everyone seemed to abide by that. We would definitely come back for another stay if we find another event we fancy as value was phenomenal. Breakfast in the mouldy fig back at the club was really great - I had a full English vegi breakfast and can’t fault it. Staff there were really helpful and friendly too

Stayed two nights in the executive room.

Bed was huge and so comfy!

Tea and coffee and biscuits provided and refilled the following morning.

Discovered Aircon didn't work but it wasn't massively hot so just had the window open. We were overlooking the back garden/marque and there were events on both evenings which we could hear from our room but all finished by about 10 ish so didn't bother us.

Shower was good and whilst I would prefer a shower head that is not fixed to the wall I was able to shower with no issues.

Breakfast was amazing although there was a large dog in there both mornings (believe he was something to do with the hotel as the dog and the owner went through an internal door). For me I wasn't keen of this large dog walking between the tables but others adored him so I only mention it so this review is fair and accurate.

Staff all friendly, check in and check out was easy.

Would stay again if I ever needed to be in Eastleigh.
