Had a lovely day with a couple of girlfriends enjoying being pampered at Ashdown Park Hotel. The pool was just the right temperature and started the day with a few length’s before relaxing in the jacuzzi. Enjoyed a delicious lunch in the Forest Brasserie from an extensive choice and a glass of local bubbly. Then had an amazing Indian Head massage followed by a facial. The treatments were excellent and so relaxing. Ended our day with a walk in the grounds.
Excellent night's stay for me and my wife's 7th Wedding anniversary and what a beautiful place very clean all staff friendly and all knew that it was our anniversary from the moment we arrived to check in we were treated to Happy Anniversary from reception staff and from then everybody from waiting staff to the chef saying happy anniversary to us and making our day very special they organised us an upgrade to a king-size bed which was so comfortable for both us!Had a dinner and breakfast booked for us in the Anderida restaurant was so nice hot nice food, wonderful waiting staff lots of complimentary offerings while waiting for our main course!Excellent clean grounds to walk round which we did our fair share of!The country club was excellent we thoroughly enjoyed the use of the hot tub and the swimming pool! Our room was out of this world so spacious and comfortable Excellent bathroom cannot fault the place excellent will definitely be returning 10 star hotel again thank you for making our day so special …
First time we have had a meal in the Brasserie, as the main restaurant was closed for lunch. The food we had was very good and the staff very efficient and attentive. It was just a shame that me and my wife were the only two people in there eating, so it lacked atmosphere. I guess it is just the time of the year. Would eat there again however.
Our experience from booking with the reservations department to staying for New Year’s Eve celebration was fabulous ! The service at Ashdown Park was above parr. We returned to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff were pleasant , professional and helpful without being intrusive. We were pleased that Dominika was still at the Anderida restaurant, she is amazing and she recognised us from our previous visits , her personality is infectious and she is always a delight . The new years meal was exceptionally good, myself being vegetarian, the chef was happy to make adjustments to my particular requests , nothing seemed a problem 5 star service . My husbands meal was of a high standard and we both felt that the meal was an improvement on the New Year’s Eve meal the year before . We could not fault the food. The building is grand , decor is of a stately home and suits the building . The rooms are clean and grand . We love Ashdown Park hotel and the staff , we know they have had challenges but it’s clear to see that they are all working to a common purpose. We would highly recommend staying here , it’s not modern but that’s not what Ashdown is about . Class and service is at the heart of this hotel . We look forward to returning in the coming year . …
This beautiful hotel hosted my wife and I for four days over the Christmas period and it was a magical experience. Post Brexit, Covid and now the current cost of living crisis you could be forgiven for thinking the level of customer service you would receive would be lesser than expected.....not a bit of it! From the moment we arrived to the time we left, the customer service experience was exemplary given the staffing struggles all hotels appear to be in the midst of currently. The Main House where our room was, enveloped us in warmth and care, with beautiful Christmas Trees in the reception area and throughout the lounges and the restaurant, the welcoming log fire was burning and a sense of calm permeated throughout the whole property. We even had a beautiful Christmas Tree in our room with twinkling lights, baubles and presents delivered on Christmas Day. The hotel was kept lovely and warm with lashings of hot water and we both felt totally at peace and calm within our surroundings. There were many activities and pursuits laid on for guests, archery, clay pigeon shooting, quiz's, treasure hunts etc but our favourite was the Falconry display on the lawns on Boxing Day, a wonderful experience. Unlimited champagne flowed throughout the lounges each evening and in the main the food was of a high quality. The grounds are spectacular, the swimming pool area in the Country Club and the changing facilities etc were spotlessly clean but the clear stand out was the staff that looked after us. Ben Booker the General Manager was very hands on and whilst we were aware he had some staffing issues, some not turning up for shifts etc, he did all that he could to minimise the impact on the guests. Every staff member we came into contact with was excellent, but a few that looked after us SO very well were; Paul Toyn, Donna Toyn, Louise Phillips, Gavin the Sommelier, Zsolt Orszagh and Marta Guerreiro the Restaurant Manager.....our sincerest thanks to all of them and to Ben for all their hard work, care and concern for their guests.…
We absolutely loved our one-night stay at Ashdown Park. I stayed with my husband and two children on 23 December and the hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Before checking in we enjoyed afternoon tea in the lounge where the service was excellent - I’m sorry I didn’t catch the lady’s name who served us but she was so friendly and kept checking on us. We also felt it was good value compared to London. On checking in we were delighted to receive a free upgrade to a studio suite - we were in room 67 known as Cherry. The room was ENORMOUS which was perfect for us as we had 4 of us in the room as we just wanted to laze around watching Xmas films with room service for dinner! We had a double sofa bed for one of our children and a single put-up bed for the other and there was still so much space! I know a lot of people aren’t keen on the old-fashioned decor and furniture but we actually love it - takes me back to staying at English country hotels when I was a child. If you want modern then go elsewhere, it’s part of the charm of the place. The room was quite hot (seems to be standard at English hotels!) but the fan provided was brilliant. We had a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning with really good pastries. We also enjoyed a visit to the pool which had been refurbished since our last visit. Nice changing rooms and all very clean, just a shame there’s no sauna or steam room. All in all we loved our stay here and although we like to try different hotels, I think I might book this one again for a pre-Christmas break next year!…
A return visit after three years. The Anderida restaurant one again did not disappoint. From the concierge greeting us in the reception area and showing us to the cocktail bar, the service, the food, everything came up to their normal high standards. The food is of the highest quality, presented beautifully and served with efficacy by courteous staff. Attentive without being intrusive, allowing us to fully appreciate the food and enjoy each others company. I would highly recommend you visit
We had booked an afternoon tea and had to re arrange it, it was as we expected perfect! They decorated a plate with Happy golden wedding anniversary and added chocolates, plus a Happy 70th birthday plate for my husband, we always try and celebrate at Ashdown Park never once has the service been bad the staff is always polite and friendly and the food is delicious. If you want a yummy afternoon tea then Ashdown Park is the place to go.
Amazing venue and incredible staff, Bobby was especially excellent and went the extra mile for us. Food was super, the whole experience was magical. Woud highly recommend this venue for personal or business.
We stay at Ashdown Park Hotel at least three times each year with family. This stay was an unusual one as last Sunday we were caught in a severe snow storm on the A22 around 3 pm. With both ways of the A22 closed we phoned the Ashdown Park hotel and they said they would find us a room. We managed to make our way past the abandoned cars to the hotel. We were looked after so well by the staff throughout our stay. The room was great, very clean and of a good standard. The restaurant food and service were so good and made our last-Minute stay visit special. The hotel facilities and grounds are outstanding especially with the snow. We are back again between Christmas and new year and with no snow hopefully.
