We stayed in a garden room this weekend and it was amazing. We had a hot tub and sauna; tastefully decorated room ( with two very small wardrobes and no long mirror and decadent bathroom. The room has everything you could wish for ( we had to ask for a fan) including slippers and robes. The garden rooms (there are two) are at the bottom of the hotel garden. They are private and quiet, they have a decked front where the hot tub and sauna are housed. There is outside lighting; a chair and table and optional screening for privacy.

The hotel itself was immaculately decorated in Art Deco style and was also immaculately clean. The staff were friendly efficient and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them and given the current situation they worked incredibly hard to keep distant; clean everything between customers usage and smiled throughout.

The food, we had dinner, bed and breakfast was some of the best food I have eaten in any hotel. It was fine dining and beautifully presented. An amuse bouche was served each evening, fresh bread as well as the menu. We enjoyed duck, pork and sea bass; smoked haddock soufflé and plaice goujons. The sticky toffee pudding is to be recommended.
The full English breakfast included Norfolk bacon and sausages which tasted delicious

We spent 3 nights in this little gem of a hotel, greeted by Dale, shown the hotel’s highlights then our room with its canopied bed, and huge bathroom with all necessary toiletries, towels, face flannels and bathrobes.
The dinners, with their pre-starter canapés, were a gastronomic delight and the wine cellar more than comprehensive for our palates.
The Art Deco decorations and furnishing and the Agatha Christie association, added to the atmosphere. The hotel was spotlessly clean and there was a positive attention to detail.
The staff were attentive and efficient and our visit could not have been bettered. We will be going again.

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. Our garden room was beautifully decorated with a wooden floor and the en-suite had a big roll top bath. It was all impeccably clean. We opted for the dinner, bed and breakfast option which included a cream tea with homemade scones and jam on arrival. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. We were particularly impressed by the staff who were all exceptionally friendly and charming. We will certainly visit the hotel again.

Dear Traveler, It’s let’s dip a toe in the water time and see how the hospitality sector is coping with the current issues, of which you don’t need me to remind you.
Beechwood Hotel in one of my most favourite areas of Norfolk reopened on July 4th 2020 and I have to say what a very just how very well they are coping.
My wife and I booked a midweek break and arrived Wednesday afternoon just after 230pm, earliest check in time.
As Always we were greeted by Hugh with a laugh and a joke with him wearing his face visor.
He explained the new one way system of transversing the hotel and this works extremely well and with very clear signage. The new evening meal is in time allotted settings and again as been meticulous in its conception.
The hotel is a three star establishment and after being closed for some considerable time the seasoned traveller would expect some issues, there were a couple of very minor issues in regards to the accommodation that were taken care of immediately.

During the three day stay the waiting staff were impeccable in their delivery of a service that you would expect from a higher star rating establishment. Seamless and faultless and all credit should be given for making difficult circumstances look comfortable which makes the guest feel comfortable too.
The house keeping team were also working hard keeping areas scrupulously clean including communal seating and bar areas also checking hand sanitiser stations round the hotel were serviceable.
The food was again beyond that expected from a three star establishment, the kitchen staff and chef have created very tasty additions to a reduced choice menu and that works well alternated on a daily basis.
All the reception staff could not have been more helpful and explanative of new procedures introduced for guest safety and comfort, as well as their own well being.
On the whole all the new procedures work very well and are almost inconspicuous to the guest, the choice to wear face coverings is therefore left to guest discretion.

As a midweek break I couldn’t have wanted for more, very good value for money and very restful.

So dear traveller if you book some time here, and I hope you do, because you won’t regret it, please support the team and hotel by not asking them to pass on current VAT reductions.

As we pulled into the car park, Hugh came out to meet us, with his visor on and wearing a wonderful blue suit. He insisted on taking our luggage and put them into our room why we checked in.

We were then given a tour of the hotel, going through the one way system that they had introduced because of COVID-19, and he explained that they had timed sittings for breakfast and dinner so to spread people out a bit. There were hand sanitizers everywhere for people to use. He then showed us the beautiful garden where we were then given a complimentary cream tea which was delicious.

We found our room, which had a four poster bed in it, and on entering found it to be spacious, and had a very large en-suite with freestanding bath and separate shower cubicle. Unfortunately our only gripe would be was that we could only just about stand in the shower, it was quite hard to be able to wash yourself, I would have preferred a larger walk in shower than the big bath. In the shower there was only a soap dish so was trying to balance our toiletries and sponges on it. There was a small walk-in wardrobe and bedside cabinets with 3 drawers. There was a cabinet with a kettle in and a good selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate and a packet of biscuits. There was a small dressing table and a unit at the end of the bed to put your case and we put our shoes underneath.

The location is good, fairly central to visit North Norfolk, but as we are in a strange time at the moment, a lot of things were still closed or had already been fully booked so we did struggle to find some days out, maybe 5 days would have been better than staying the week. Sherringham is a favourite of ours for the sea, as is Wells. Holt is a good town with a lot of independent shops, and a few car parks were free at the moment.

Food, now what can I say? This has been the best hotel for food. We have eaten in several London restaurants and this was on a par with them, the Chef’s are a credit to the Beechwood.
When we came down for dinner, we were sat in the bar and ordered a drink. The menu was then brought over, which at the moment is a reduced one, but they had a specials menu every day for a bit of variety. We were then brought some canapés and ordered our food. When our food was ready, which is all cooked to order, we were shown into the restaurant, we were then given a pre starter and they were all fantastic. The presentation of the food was second to none, and was the best steak I have ever tasted. I even had pork belly for starter served with a pineapple icecream which sounds strange but was lovely.

The best thing about this hotel was their staff. They all worked so hard, and were always friendly and polite and made it a joy to stay there. I would like to say a big thank you, we had a fab week and I’m sure we’ll be back soon.

This was our second visit to the hotel and we have every intention to visit again. All the staff are friendly and attentive. In relation to the coronavirus restrictions they were careful to explain the new systems in place to keep us all safe and there are signs placed around the hotel for those that may have needed a gentle, courteous reminder. We stayed in a four poster bedroom room, which with the huge bathroom, felt very luxurious and comfortable and impeccably clean. The food was delicious and couldn't be faulted.

We had a wonderful stay at Beechwood Hotel last Friday. Hugh and the team were very warm and welcoming. We have enjoyed tea and scones on arrival and were offered complimentary canapes at the bar before dinner. The evening meal was exquisite with home-made bread and fresh local produce, both courses were well prepared and cooked to perfection. We were also very happy with the room (room 6). It was very spacious and the bedding was so comfortable. There was a free-standing bath and powerful shower in the bathroom with bath robes available. We would definitely recommend Beechwood to our friends and family. We just want to say thank you Beechwood for your kind hospitality and the most enjoyable stay.

We visited at the beginning of the year and were very impressed so booked again for the end of April. For obvious reasons, the visit did not go ahead so we re booked for July. We were a bit apprehensive about staying in a hotel given the current Covid situation but need not have worried as we were satisfied that the Beechwood has carried out all measures to make stays as safe as possible. There is a one way system in operation, plenty of sanitising stations, staff wearing visors, reception behind perspex screens, tables and chairs thoroughly cleaned after use etc etc.
As before, we experienced excellent service from staff who are obviously well trained in providing a first class service to customers. The food was delicious , room comfortable and well appointed. We look forward to paying more visits in the future.

We booked three nights B+B+dinner. When we arrived the owner's wife insisted in carrying our bags to the room. The hotel is old fashioned and quaint in a positive way. Our room was large with 40s/50s brown wardrobes, table, sideboard, two wing arm chairs etc. The bathroom was just as big with a cast iron bath in the centre and a shower in the corner. All mod cons, Flat screen Tv, fridge, tea and coffee maker etc. Fresh milk and two bottles of water were left in the fridge each day. On arrival we were served a cream tea in the garden. We were asked at what time we wanted breakfast and dinner. The rule was that you had to be in the bar 30 minutes before dinner and you had cocktails, nibbles and canapes while your table was being prepared. A comprehensive menu and freedom of choice without limitations. Food and service were first class. All very civilised. Wine was a couple of pounds above average but not too excessive.
Not a hotel for children. Visitors with a dog had meals served in a separate room so as not to annoy other guests. Breakfast was full english, haddock, poached eggs etc.
Well worth a visit if you like old fashioned service instead of a modern plasitc hotel with no atmosphere.
A couple of tiny comments. There is no air con and as it was very warm, sleeping was a little uncomfortable. There was a table in the bathroom but I would have preferred a shelf above the basin for shaving gear, deodorants etc etc.
The waiters and waitresses were young and tried very hard to be top professionals. A couple of slips though. One night I was asked if I wanted to taste the wine but while they waited for me to taste they simply poured my wife a glass. Tiny comments but it made the hotel only 95% five star instead of 100%.

We hoped we were in for a treat when we booked the garden spa room at Beechwood Hotel but the service and quality of the hotel far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel valued and that nothing was too much trouble. When it came to dinner, we were convinced that there must be a catch, the food and service was far too good for what we had pre booked. We sat down for dinner and discussed that the options we had chosen must be coming at a premium and that we should expect a supplemental charge when we checked out. We both agreed this was fair and to be expected. Upon check out we were pleasantly surprised to be told all was within our original booking. The only problem we had.... how much to leave as a tip for a stay that seriously exceeded expectations and is fair to say was the best service we have ever received (a nice problem to have!)
