Stayed 24th&25th Dec. Room 125.

Very bad damp/cat pee smell along corridor. Made reception aware at 3pm when checked in, initial response was dismissive, however then investigated and said they couldn’t smell anything as she was continually spraying air freshener.

Shower curtain very short, leading to floor flooding. Hence why the flooring was very dirty/stained. Be aware this hotel do not provide bath mats, so hand towels is relegated to floor duties.

I suspect the dampness is under the flooring and soaking through the floor/wall into the corridors which would explain the smell.

Surprising really just a longer shower curtain may all it takes to prevent such damage.

The room and amenities all good, bed extremely comfortable. The price of £67 for two nights very good. Although busy petrol station outside the window, no disturbance at all.

Mobile data reception with Tesco Mobile 02 not very good at all in that environment, so hotels wifi may be of benefit.

Solomon night manager very welcoming each night when l returned, that beaming smile and brief chat was very much appreciated.

My friend and I made a last minute trip down to Great Yarmouth for the Bank holiday weekend. We couldn't find a place Great Yarmouth itself so chose the Travelodge Alce.

We had a nice decent sized room, with a big bathroom that had a wet room in it and really nice power shower.

For what we paid, it was a bit over priced just for a room, £107.50 each for 2 nights and we had to pay for WIFI £3 for 24hrs but the room was clean, had the basic condiments and some room to hang clothes also the staff were very friendly and helpful.

When we arrived we instantly found a parking space which was close to the reception, the receptionist greeted us with a very warm welcome, we checked in, told where our room was, and then walked upstairs and we were at the room in under 2 mins.

The room was as expected, room enough for 2 adults and 2 children, all we required was one extra pillow for my daughter, but in the end never used it!

Tea and coffee supplies were ample, and the room was quiet with good window insulation.

The bathroom and WC were fine, clean and tidy with lots of towels.

The stay was of great value at £54.99, warm room, nice beds and a great bace for Great Yarnmouth and Norwich.

For us (a family of 4,) this was perfect.

When we left in the morning we we're thanked by the receptionist and the hotel manager, and they asked if we had a good night, which of course we did.

Travel Lodge is a great chain only made better by its staff who show pride in there work and commitment to make sure you have a great stay. Thank you Jane and Andy.

We stopped here for one night as part of our Half Term road trip.

I realise that Travelodge is a budget brand, but other hotels in the brand far out perform this one.

Our main gripe was the lack of cleaning in the room, the surfaces were not clean to touch, and this is unacceptable in the current environment. Add to this the ridiculous lack of plugs in the room (3), the amount of guests not wearing face coverings and the clear smoking going on in rooms, as it filled our bathroom through the ventilation system, we won't be back.

I would also add that Travelodge policy of getting you to pay for 24 hours WiFi, which is actually not, you get the remainder of the day you arrive, but not the morning after, so actually it isn't 24 hours from activation - very poor!

There is a M&S food & Starbucks in easy walking distance, and the location to the Broads is good, if you are cool with stopping here

Stayed here for 2 nights, on arrival we noticed our bathroom hadn’t been emptied, there was next to no soap in the dispenser (considering the current pandemic) you’d expect hygiene to be the top priority. After seeing this we took it upon ourselves to go and buy some antibacterial spray to spray everything in the room!
After spending the day at the beach, we returned to our room, got little one To bed - then realised once we pulled our sheets over to get into bed, the sheets had stains on them. Absolutely disgusting! So we put the sheet on the floor and had to sleep under a towel (we didn’t want to get the hotel staff up to disturb our daughter sleeping). Also noticed the head board was thick in dust!
The morning after We went down to reception for our breakfast boxes - to find only 2 boxes had been cooled so we ended up with a warm milk carton and warm orange juice. I left a review with travelodge and surprisingly have heard nothing back.
AVOID!!

Sorry to say how disappointed we were with this hotel. Stayed for three nights as a family. I'll try to mix positives and negatives. The staff were very friendly which is good to note. The room and whole interior of the hotel was stiflingly hot even before the recent hot weather. The heating/air-conditioning units do not work at all. There was a fan which is noisy but necessary. The water pressure and temperature was good. The busy road and petrol station just outside is noisy. The carpets at the edges and underneath the beds were disgusting. Coins, peanuts and large dust balls were lurking there. The while room was tired and we felt we had to disinfect all the surfaces before settling in. I know Travelodge hotels aren't luxurious and basic is expected. But it just wasn't comfortable and it wasn't clean enough. It seems to be run on minimum staff who were overstretched. And for leisure purposes, there are not enough places to eat and drink locally. Everywhere was not back up and running following lockdown. Hope it improves.

This hotel is what it says a budget hotel. The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathroom needs an upgrade, broken soap dispenser, but the water was hot. The cleaning could have been better round the edges of the room and round the bed legs. Positive was nice to have two chairs to sit in rather than have to sit on the bed. Beware the vending machine, check that what you get out of it has not gone out of date. a couple of weeks is OK but 6 months is excessive

This hotel is well located to travel to nearby norwich, great yarmouth, the broads, cromer and north to sherringham and close to the main road to all above. The railway station is a steady ten minute walk away for a hourly service towards great yarmouth and norwich. The hotel was clean and tidy staff were friendy and local information sheet for amenities was provided in the room. Definitely place to stay if visiting the area for a few days.

Since new carpets and room heaters that work have been installed it's improved. Staff in the main friendly. Its about time travelodge supplied free WiFi. Pricing of rooms is very iffy on site, and too variable without reason.

Used this Travelodge as a base to tour Norfolk sites. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The Travelodge is well placed for easy access to locations around the broads and Great Yarmouth. However, at the time of our visit (Feb 2022) the accommodation was in need of some TLC. The carpets and woodwork needed some attention. The room was clean and warm, but local traffic attending the adjacent petrol station could be noisy. The local town Acle had few amenities and takeaways only accepted cash, no debit cards.

Hi, as far as I know the breakfast box consists of a small carton of Orange juice with a straw taped to the side .. (like a child’s drink), a small muffin, a slightly bigger tub of Cornflakes and a carton of milk for it. Basic. But Starbucks opposite, pricey but lovely.. or M&S opposite too..

Southwood hall I see about 10 minutes away by car, so close enough to get a taxi or mini bus if there are a few in your party. Sadly there is not a lot to eat in Acle its self as the pubs The Queens head didnt serve food on the two times I have visited it even though it does have on the side of the building it serves food. Hope this helps

The family room we stayed in has a large double bed (could be kingsize) and then you also have two single beds, made up ready to use. There is a telly in the room and tea and coffee making facilities. The windows only open a couple of inches and have guards on them for safety. You cannot smoke in the rooms. There is quite a lot of space and our children will sit happily on the floor in the room playing games or colouring in etc. The bath is fine, and has a shower above it. I hope you have a nice stay. Oh and the curtains don't let the light in which is good too.
