Spent 3 nights at Basecamp Hotel and it was everything I’d hoped for: warm atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, very good breakfast, comfortable and interesting rooms, central location. Not rowdy or noisy. Glad I stayed there.

Of all the options in Longyearbyen none are cheap but this is easily the most welcoming, friendly and beautifully designed. Everything indoors is wooden, warm and interestingly decorated with animal skins, museum pieces and arctic taxidermy. There are plenty of wide windows and a sitting...More

Friendly, central and cozy!!! Excellent reception team. Lovely cozy rooms trapper style and you can walk through in warm to best restaurant in town, Kroa, too. Want next time to check out their extensive land based excursions which looked great. Highly recommended.
