Roof leaks - water everywhere - room dirty - had to go to the lobby for bath towels and soap - pass by this one - if I had not prepaid - non refundable I would have left upon arrival - I called Crowne Plaza to register my observations - I never heard back from them

The Crowne Plaza, Dublin, OH was once a beautiful property that is now run down and neglected. The outside appearance is especially bad, with crumbling parking lots, overgrown shrubs, non working lights and un-repaired damage to the building in a few places. The toilet in our room would flush but kept running. Otherwise, the facility was reasonably clean but not exceptional and the room is a decent size, but he bathroom is SMALL. Breakfast is buffet style. I will be working in the area most of Fall 2019 and will not be returning to this property. . Crowne Plaza needs to renovate the place or take down their sign.

Hello BobetteKay, Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to leave us a review of your stay. We aim to help our guests recharged and be inspired. I am sorry to learn though your stay was not a reflection of this due to the issues with the bathroom and with the overall condition of our hotel. I understand this is not the seamless experience you're accustomed to. Your comments are shared with the hotel management as a reference in the future enhancement in our services and facilities. On a lighter note, I am glad you found the cleanliness of our hotel was up to standard. I hope you give us another chance should your future travels bring you back to the area! Goo location, clean hotel, great shower, good breakfast included. Surprisingly quiet considering how close it is to the Freeway! Burned out light in parking lot, worn out seat cushions in dining room booths. Ate at the Dublin Village Tavern. Excellent

Room was very nice, but hotel hallway configuration is odd, dark, and outdated. It is a long walk from car to room no matter where you park. Front desk clerk was very nice, but all others wouldn't even acknowledge you while in the lobby or passing by. Hotel would be a long walk to downtown.

Hi Michael F, Thank you for choosing our hotel for your recent stay! I'm happy to learn that you have enjoyed your stay despite some hiccups. Our goal is to provide top-notch service to all of our guests, and I'm sorry that some of our staff were not accommodating. I also read your comments about the inconvenience experienced by traveling from the parking area to your room. Comfort and convenience are what we strive to provide, but missed the mark. I have informed the hotel management about your review, and I am confident that they will take steps towards improving the service. We value your comments and will greatly help us continue to improve on this aspect and to better host you in the future. Kind Regards, Virgil N. Case Manager IHGService

We booked this hotel with a travelzoo voucher, incl. breakfast and Columbus Zoo tickets. I did zero research on the hotel, just seeing the Crown Plaza name assumed it would be good. The outside of the hotel was very run down, the lobby looks nice and the beds are comfy. But it def needs a complete remodel. The staff especially Salma was very helpful.

My wife and I celebrated our 18th Wedding Anniversary this weekend with a visit to Crown Plaza Hotel in Columbus, Ohio. The entire staff was warm, friendly and professional. We received a complementary bottle of wine along with a complementary breakfast. In addition, we received directions to wonderful attractions in the immediate area. The staff helped to ensure that we experience a weekend getaway that not only exceeded our expectations, but that it would be a truly unforgettable experience and a treasured memory. Kudos, are extended to Gavin (hotel manager), Heather our extremely friendly and attentive waitress and to the entire hotel staff,

Because the front desk staff was so nice it pains me to write this. First let me say that there was nothing outrageously bad about my stay, and I must commend the property for offering complimentary coffee in the lobby each morning, but all the small negative things add up to something that needs to be said. There is an overwhelming sense that this property is being milked while the owners look for a buyer or decide what to do with the land. This is an older building that must be in some form of ‘receivership or holding’ by the IHG/Crown Plaza Group. As others have said there is a mild odor to the property. Something stale. The exterior of the building would indicate perhaps some water damage behind the peeling clapboard. The parking lot lights that don’t work (all the lights in the southeast parking lot) hide the condition of the building for at least the overnight hours. In general, the building appears clean but old and dark, both inside and out. The room had a dark carpet and dark wallpaper. The light bulbs were all low wattage. The stairwells were dark as well, a little scary with all sorts of ‘stuff’ stuck to the floor. The only part of the building that appeared bright was the poor area. It looked very nice. The first thing that struck me was the huge stain on a very large lobby chair. The chair remained for a few days but was ultimately changed out with another chair. First impression of my room was that the room was clean except for the very dirty white bedspread. I asked to have it changed, but that task seemed to be too much for the house keeping staff on duty at the time. Two days later it got changed. The door stop was broken away from the floor and reported to housekeeping. It never got fixed (housekeeping must have known about this for a long time). We came back early one day, and the room was serviced. But there were no towels. Housekeeping was still on the floor, so I asked for towels. I was told that there were no more, and we had to wait a few hours for more to be ready. The shower tile had areas of black mold. Not much, but enough. Clearly and obviously enough to be noted by housekeeping! It could have been handled with a simple bleach and water solution. Unfortunate it had not been taken care of. Lastly is the issue of my room assignment. I had an online reservation with a deep discount. I was put in a handicap room for my 6-night stay. It’s commonly known that cheaper rates get less desirable rooms; end of the hall, next to the elevator, etc., etc., and yes handicap rooms. All that is fine by me. However, in forty years of traveling I have never been in a handicap room where the top of the sink mirror was at a height of about 4.5 feet above the floor. This handicap room was not a duel use room! It’s clear that this room was never intended to be used by able bodied guests. I have to admit that this did not become apparent until the next morning and I did not ask for another room (who like to change hotel rooms?), and after the bedspread episode I was concerned what the outcome might be. I don’t know how this property gets 4 spots from tripadvisor. At best it’s a 3.

I have stayed at this property before and wasn't impressed. When I went to go book a hotel in the same area, this came up at an "8" out of 10 "very good" so I thought this was a totally different hotel - it's not...it was the same unimpressive hotel. Maybe the only thing that makes it 8 out of 10 is because of the banquet hall, pool, gym or whatever. Ants were a problem on the dresser and in the bathroom and the perimeter of the room was dirty - some areas were really dirty. Will never stay here again. The parking lot to the left (where it says hotel guests are supposed to park) is not well lit at all.
