Requested towels and room cleaning on day one. No response. Requested just towels on day two. Nothing. Requested towels on day 3 and was told that I had to wait until 11am because the were being cleaned. 2 minutes later received a call from front desk after she read through the notes on my file. She acknowledged that I had Requested towels multiple times and would escalate to the manager. 5 minutes later I received 2 towels and 4 small hand towels. Miraculously they were clean and delivered. My room was never cleaned as per my original request. The coffee machine had used pods from previous guests. Gross. The carpet around the air conditioner was soaking wet. This is not what I've experienced at other double trees. $50 parking credit for this level of service does not cut it. Sorry but I'll be won't be staying with Hilton again.…
The location makes the place including the view of the lake, onsite parking that is off a main street with easy in and out, as well as walking distance to ballgames, museums, great food. The main, common areas are attractive and the coffee shop and restaurant and handy, even the little market. I found staff to be friendly and helpful. The shuttle that will take you other places isn't something I see at many hotels anymore so that was cool. The bathrooms in the room are dated, but good water pressure and enough space so no biggie. Bed was comfortable and the rest of the room was just fine. I'm not sure why so many harsh reviews. If I were to visit Cleveland again, I'd stay here again without thinking. Plus, price is extremely reasonable.
This property is not up to par for a Hilton Hotel. Horrible experience! Bathtub was honestly black in the bottom from filth and wear. The room was dirty and very outdated. T I travel a lot and this rates as one of the worst hotels I have ever been in. Don’t let the website photos fool you!
The location was convenient to walk to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but the hotel needs updating. The hallway on our floor smelled musty and the carpet was buckled. There were very few outlets available in the room, and most were so old and worn that our plugs would not stay in. Not a single outlet was available on the nightstand. The breakfast buffet was fair, with lukewarm, watery scrambled eggs. The woman who brought the coffee was very nice.
This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had any hotel. There is a long list of things that went wrong/reasons why I will never stay at another Hilton, or at least not another Doubletree by Hilton. 1) Traveling with children I reserved 2 rooms that were either adjoining or next to each other. I called the day before arrival and reserved 2 rooms that were next to each other. When I arrived at check-in time I was told that the rooms I reserved were not ready and not even close to being ready. During the check in process the worker we were dealing with exclaimed “Oh sh*t” (in front of my 10-year-old son) due to her frustration with the process. This was very unprofessional and not productive. That same worker rolled her eyes at my 10 year old when he accidentally nudged a pencil holder on the desk which I did not appreciate. There were no other 2 rooms available that were next yo each other so I was forced to accept 2 random rooms that were at least on the same hall. 2) Both rooms, #310 and #318 were horrible. They were both dirty and outdated. In fact after we checked in to #310 a worker opened the door to find us already in there and said she was there to clean?? An invasion of privacy and very unprofessional. There were cigarette burns in the linens. None of the old/broken USB charging docks worked. The air conditioner in #310 did not work, maintenance was not there, and there were no other rooms to switch to so we ended up being refunded for one of the rooms since we were forced to all cram into 1 room to sleep on floors in the air conditioning. The view from the rooms was of a rooftop that displayed poorly maintained mechanical equipment and pieces of trash; 3) The hotel advertises that it has a pool and hot tub, neither of which were available for use.…
Nice little hidden gem in a perfect location. Showing it's age a bit but rooms and common areas were clean. Parking garage right next to it. Close to Rock Hall and Goodtime boat cruise, science museum, Browns stadium. 10 dollar Uber takes you to West 4th - bars and restaurants and Pickwick and Frolic comedy club. Staff was great. Pleasant.Room was clean. Shower had good pressure. The Indians were playing but because it was near the lake it was away from that traffic. Was late for breakfast but staff offered to let us eat. ( I didn't because I don't like doing that). They've got stuff to do on a schedule and not cool to impose on them. Will definitely stay here again. Maybe for a Browns game.
I’m a Hilton member and travel often. We decided to use a third party site and received this hotel. Pro: great location for Rock n Roll Museum. We walked to the baseball stadium. Good food at hotel bar. Staff friendly. Did not use shuttle but many people did for the baseball game. Parking on site-reminder of $25/day fee. Other hotels were more. Fridge and microwave always a plus Cons: room not as clean as expected. Sticky, drippy stuff on walls, hole in towel, very dusty areas, could hear next room low drying their hair. Water spots splattered all over pictures. Parking deck just dirty, elevator rough looking and only one. Worst part was the outlet situation!! Their own hairdryer would not stay plugged in. My curling iron didn’t work at all and did not work in the lamp outlet. I used the back corner floor outlet nowhere near a mirror. We did not get a cookie at check in but did ask as we were leaving. And they were warm. Looked like a rough night checking people in on a Saturday night. Tons of people waiting for their rooms.…
Super Super location!! Walked to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum. Kids Museum right next door to RRHF. Walk to the pier. We had a beautiful view out our window, and microwave, tv and room safe. Everyone there was wonderfully helpful!! We went to the Flats and ate as well as walked around. Shuttle driver was wonderful and pointed out things to see and places to eat. Front desk super! My husband did not realize there was a $25 dollar a day charge for parking. I think it was a deal as if we had to drive anywhere we would have had to pay, and the shuttle provided free service, but he didn’t like the “surprise” when checking in. We are accustomed to complimentary breakfast - it’s not and one day we had the buffet with no posted prices or info, looked like there was only a buffet, and it was 16+ dollars each!! Too much for eggs, oatmeal and bacon. Starbucks in the restaurant was lovely- we love them, but they don’t accept gift cards. The bar and grill that was attached was amazing. We ate there the first night and though it appears they are short on staff we had great service and good food- hamburger/walleye. The location is aged and there are little things like hot hallways, loose doorways , “sticky” outlets and stained tub. I would stay there again. More positive than negative for sure!…
The hotel is in a great location with a view of the lake. The problem is that the hotel rooms are dated and the walls are paper thin. We found that there was no available plug to charge a phone on either nightstand which has become standard in every hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. This was frustrating but a minor inconvenience. The biggest problem was hearing every word of the converstation in the next room at 4am. The people in the next room were not being overly loud or disrespectful…the walls were just so thin that we could hear everything. This hotel needs a major facelift to the rooms and that includes sound insulation between the rooms. It was also mentioned in other much older reviews that the parking garage elevator was broken and it was still broken. There was failing paint in the elevator lobby and everything except the lobby looked old and rundown. You should definitely look elsewhere for a hotel in downtown Cleveland.…
As someone who works in hospitality, I cannot believe that Hilton allows you to fly their flag. The hotel is in desperate need of renovations. Falling ceilings, stained linens, carpet so disgusting it felt sticky, broken elevators, etc. Had to call the front desk numerous times to get clean sheets that didn’t have someone else’s blood on them and basic amenities (coffee but no cups, no shampoo or bar soap). There were two electrical outlets in the whole room, none on the night stands. We were with a group and in several rooms, all the rooms had similar issues (no outlets, falling ceiling, paint chipping, disgusting carpet, stained linens, no amenities). The other people in our group were offered a $30/day hotel credit (veterans or honors members), we weren’t and we are both. It’s infuriating to spend that kind of money on a subpar hotel. There were a few staff members who were helpful and polite but not many. Steer clear.…
