The excellent service that was given to my partner making this a special weekend for us both.
Just had tea here. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff along with a cosy atmosphere and great home made food. Our dogs were very welcome and provided with water and a selection of biscuits! Don't know what Stewart314 was going on about with the WiFi...More
Stopped in for a coffee after walking up Scaffel, bartender refused us access to the WiFi, "It's for residents only", but not paying customers apparently. Should have gone across the road to the Screes Inn.
Very friendly lovely place. All staff where fantastic, lovely breakfast and fantastic venue for the climb up scarfell pike. The area is an absolute beauty spot surrounded by fields mountains woods and a river. We will be back......fantastic steak pie.
Great service, fast and friendly. Couldn’t have done more for me. The food was outstanding - proper good pub food. Excellent breakfast as well. Definitely be back the next time I am staying over on the west coast of Cumbria.

I’m pretty sure they would make you sandwiches in the pub if you asked them. There isn’t really anywhere else near unless you drive to Gosforth. The Strands is pretty remote, but that’s the beauty of it.
