Detailed Reviews
The inn is set on a hill overlooking the bay. Our room was large and comfortable, with a lovely view and a small balcony. The tap water was tannic, but the inn provides a cooler with drinking water. Breakfast at their restaurant, Taste, was wonderful. The dining room is spacious, and it has a lovely view of the bay.
But dinner at that restaurant was disappointing. My husband and I both left hungry. I had the "halibut Tom yum", $42, which was advertised as a 6 oz piece of halibut. The dish that arrived was a big plate with a small hollow in the center, with what looked like a 4 oz serving of halibut in a very small amount of broth. With this, there was a very tiny serving of white rice. No vegetables at all! My husband had the risotto, $38, and again, this was just a small bowl and nothing else. Both dishes were very good, it's just that they were more like appetizers than main courses.
On our second night, we ate at the Old Loft Restaurant in Bonne Bay. What a difference! The food was delicious, the servings were more than adequate, and the price was reasonable.

Brand new Inn (Spring '22) that sits up on the hillside with 3 hot tubs, sauna, fantastically beautiful rooms, and BLD cuisine that matches anything you could wish for (a nice break from traditional Newfoundland cuisine). Sitting on the deck or in the hot tub overlooking Bonne Bay - absolutely gorgeous. The owner and staff are truly hospitable. Eco friendly in the most reasonably responsible way possible. Oh, as of this writing they don't have a liquor license but you can bring in anything you want and they'll take care of it for you.
Owners are also Tour Gros Morne hiking, so combining all 3 (hiking, cuisine, hospitality) is the best of all worlds.

This inn is stunning in every sense. I would give it 6 stars if I could. The view from the restaurant / balcony is jaw-dropping - you can see the mountains and bay from way above. The balcony has firepits and cozy blankets for cool weather (even in August.) The whole inn is tastefully decorated and immaculate. The staff went out of their way to make sure we (two couples) were comfortable. The restaurant was truly world-class with excellent food and attention to detail. Kaye, one of the servers, was above-and-beyond excellent. Crista at the reception desk was wonderful, too. We did not try the outdoor hot tubs or sauna, but wish we had had time. The inn is in the heart of the park, on the south shore of Bonne Bay near the park's Discovery Center. In every respect this is an excellent place to stay.

We just came home from a 2 week stay in Newfoundland and had the most fabulous time EXCEPT for our stay at Gros Morne Inn. We booked this property months ago only to be put in a room that should not be a room for guests. We paid $550 per night for a room next to the kitchen and dishwashing room. I was assured that I would not be bothered by the noise but was awakened at 6:50am by banging of pots and pans. The owner, Rebecca was aware of this but made no apology or overture to acknowledge this issue- we had prepaid for the room. As well this room overlooks the parking lot . The hotel is otherwise very nice but unfortunately this horrendous, overpriced room soured our entire experience. The owner’s lack of acknowledgment reflects her disinterest in the guest experience- please do not ever prepay for this hotel and never stay in room 201!

We were really looking forward to staying here, but we were so disappointed with our stay. We arrived at the hotel after a 6 hour drive with our three children. The person at the reception desk (if you can call it that) barely looked up at us. She couldn't have been less interested in making us feel welcome. The rooms were large, bright and airy and the beds were very comfortable with great linens, but that is where anything positive ends. The restaurant service was uneven at best, and the food was very overpriced for the quality. This is a place where I would be happy to have stayed if we were paying half the price, but at the rate we paid, we expected so much more. We could have forgiven all of the shortcomings if the staff had just made us feel like they weren't doing us a huge favour by having our family there. Not once did anyone ask how our day was or offer some suggestions about what to do in the area. . Also want to add that the shower barely worked - no water pressure, and they gave us some weird little solid pellets to use as shampoo. I could go on and on...

+1
We came here as a bucket list trip to celebrate my wife's upcoming 50th birthday. We are so glad that we did. The beauty of this part of Newfoundland is awe inspiring. Add to that the perfect location of the inn, and it made for a trip to remember.
I would like to thank all of the staff at the inn for making us feel welcome. There are too many to single out by name as everyone we met was more than gracious, hospitable and willing to make our stay memorable.
Our room located at the end of the end of the hall, across from the hot tubs was large, well appointed with an extremely comfortable bed. It was quiet and dark, and offered the most spectacular view. Love the fact there were no TVs. The view from the patio is all you need to look at.
Food was incredible from the great breakfast selections, I tried them all, to a spectacular dinner, would rival any high end hotel in any big city. My compliments to the chef.
There is nothing like coming back from a long hike and relaxing in the hot tub /Sauna and staring out out Bonne Bay to rejuvenate. A definite must. Also a great way to end the evening right before bed.
I would definitely recommend this place as a great upscale alternative to other accommodation you can find in the park.
I cannot thank you enough for the unforgettable experience. In fact, we are already planning our next trip, and Gros Morne Inn will be a big part of it.
Thank you once again, and see you again soon.

We went for dinner a couple of evenings last week. This place is stunning. From the atmosphere and views to the friendly staff and stellar (I'm not kidding) food. Truly an experience not to miss. The outside patio is perfectly decorated to compliment the natural beauty of Gros Moran views. The food - wow. You HAVE to try the scallops and risotto. Add to that the service. Rayanne brings her professional timely service style from Ontario to Newfoundland and it truly makes this place even more special. Without Rayanne this place would still be worth a visit but WITH Rayanne this place is absolutely top notch. Lorraine is also a very bright spot with her rich laugh and welcoming smile. If you are ANYWHERE near it is worth the drive - don't miss this place.

What a treat! It starts with the complimentary hand knit slippers when you arrive. The food is absolutely spectacular. But the best feature is the outdoor hot tubs. Relaxing there while enjoying the twinkling lights of Woody Point and Norris Point is my new happy place.

I had a wonderful time at the Gros Morne Inn. I went on a solo trip for a three day winter getaway and was amazed by the level of service I received. The staff were all extremely friendly and kind, they went above and beyond to make sure that my stay was everything I had hoped for. The food was incredible, the menu inventive and absolutely delicious. The guided tours were full of fun and adventure. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the area and had an enthusiasm for passing that on. All in all I would highly recommend visiting the Gros Morne Inn. A 10/10 experience!

Great spot with a fantastic view! A remote setting, so you will need a vehicle to get here. Our meals here were fantastic, plenty of options, including vegetarian with attention to details and presentation. The rooms are spacious and staff are helpful. It’s wonderful to be able to enjoy a wooden barrel sauna and cedar hot tub at the end of a day of hiking.
