Detailed Reviews
This hotel is in a great location and is fairly new. Beautiful decor. Where it falls short is service. The staff we interacted with were pleasant but there is no one to help with bags and apparently no one to clean the rooms. When we checked in we were asked if we wanted anyone to clean our rooms. Since we were staying three days we said yes. No-one ever came by our room to clean, empty trash or replace towels. I had to flag someone down to get towels on day two. I don't understand why a hotel that charges 300 dollars a night would make housekeeping optional. Also breakfast is a buffet for 16 dollars. While it is a great option for someone who wants a full breakfast it is the only option. I would have preferred a light breakfast and coffee. In the end I paid 16 dollars for a plate of fruit and coffee. Again, this place has great potential but is significantly over priced for what it offers. If you want to pay 300 plus a night for bed and nice decor then this is fine. Otherwise find someplace else to stay. On a side note, I called to speak to a general manager to ask if it was Marriott policy to make room cleaning optional and the front desk was reluctant to connect me to him/her. They asked why I needed to speak to the manager twice and when I finally repeated that I simply needed to speak to the manager regarding a stay, they connected me to a phone that rang and rang without a voicemail.

The good: brand new hotel and our room was immaculate. The bathroom was actually luxurious with a rain shower head and plenty of space. Again, SUPER clean. The bar in the shower for leg shaving was also a welcome touch, and should be included in all showers. The room itself was spacious, and the wall was lined with benches/surfaces where you can put your stuff. We were just passing through, but it seems conveniently located with plenty of bars/restaurants within walking distance, including the Morgan Street Food Hall.
The not great: Parking and checkin did not go smoothly. We weren’t sure what to do when we pulled in and tried the parking gate to see if we could park and then check in, but that did not work and we had to reverse to pull up next to the entrance, where there was no doorman and not a lot of space. Witnessed another car having to do the same, so it’s probably a common occurrence. Then we had a bit of confusion with the key cards not working at the parking gate and mobile app glitches, which I understand happens, but just not what you want to deal with after a long drive. The rooftop restaurant was decent, I enjoyed my food, but my husband said his burger tasted like someone used too much lighter fluid on the grill. We didn’t have reservations and wanted to sit outside (thanks to COVID), so although there was plenty of indoor seating, so we ended up on the “perimeter,” outside, which was kinda cold and dark. Could have benefited from maybe some patio lighting to make it more inviting at night. Our server was great.
Overall it was a fine stay, but nothing that blew us away. I’m not mad about it, but if I came back to Raleigh, I’d probably try someplace different.

The hotel is brand new and fabulous. The rooftop bar is gorgeous. The rooms are well appointed and bed is so comfortable. The unfortunate thing about this hotel is that on weekend nights incredibly loud boom cars and motorcycles terrorize the neighborhood. I have no idea what it’s like during the week. I am traumatized from the experience and sleep deprived. Slept on 4th floor; north facing side. Also if your room smells like construction dust ask for a new air filter for your furnace/air conditioning unit immediately - don’t breath that stuff. Also despite NC mask requirements staff at front desk have a hard time keeping their masks on and up. I hope Raleigh finds a way to deal with the boom car and motorcycle menace because this is one awesome hotel otherwise.

The AC Raleigh Downtown was our hotel of choice for our daughter’s recent wedding weekend. From beginning to end, it was FANTASTIC! The majority of our guests stayed at the new, beautifully appointed, hotel in the heart of the city which offers easy access to the best restaurants, bars and all that Raleigh has to offer. The hotel has a gorgeous rooftop bar and outside spaces which were perfect for our guests to mingle and socialize. The bride, groom and their bridal party also stayed at the AC in spacious rooms perfect for the VIPs. The girls used a lovely conference room with a balcony to have their hair and make-up morning and enjoyed a continental breakfast from the hotel restaurant. The rooftop conference room was the location of a delicious Sunday brunch which has sweeping views of Raleigh. Throughout the weekend the staff was helpful, professional, and accommodating. The Director of Sales Mike is outstanding and went above and beyond to make our weekend perfect. Highly recommend this hotel for all your travel needs but especially for special events.

This is a beautiful brand new hotel in Raleigh’s most fun neighborhood. The reason for my 1 star is very simple. The street noise and constant noise of train horns make it impossible to sleep. The staff changed my room twice and acknowledged that the noise and train horns are the hotel’s “downfall”. The staff even told me that the hotel has had sound engineers in to try to solve this issue. The staff was fantastic and tried their best but acknowledged over and over that the train horns, especially at 2, 3, and 4 a.m., are constantly the subject of complaints. In addition, the staff put me “on the quiet side” of the hotel, but that room had a broken HVAC unit that made terrible noises too. Again, the staff acknowledged that this was a consistent problem too. The hotel charged me full rates, no concessions, not even a breakfast or cocktail.

I was very pleased with this property. The rooms are contemporary and comfortable with plenty of space that included a desk, two-seater sofa, and coffee table. Some reviews of complained about the noise from the nearby train tracks. I heard the train a couple of times a day but was never bothered by it awake of sleeping. The mini-fridge is smaller than usual, but entirely adequate for my needs. Our conference food was excellent. Two minor gripes that have to do with design: The sink faucet is VERY short - you can't wash your hands without water going all over the counter top behind the sink. And the shower floors, despite having a "pebble" finish, are very, very slippery when your rinsing off soap or shampoo.

Awesome new property! The team at the desk was quick with getting me settled in. Room was clean and sleek. I stopped at the rooftop bar where Scott got me set up with a great drink and an excellent skyline view, can’t imagine a better view in the city. I asked the front desk for some recommendations about what to do in town and the team was more than happy to spend a few minutes educating me about the area. Thank you Anneka, Susie, and Alex for guiding me to the best spots! Overall a fantastic stay.

We stayed in this hotel for a family get together. It's in trendy downtown Raleigh, but was extremely loud at night due to bar crawlers. Oh, and the train that passes by multiple times in the early hours blowing its horn.
We selected a room with a balcony, but had no idea it had a Murphy bed!? If not for my 6' tall husband, I would not have been able to pull it out of the wall. We had to rearrange the furniture to make room for the bed to come down. The room was smaller than our son's which cost $200/night less. The square sink did not drain well, the shower leaked on the floor, I could go on. The rooftop bar was nice, but way overpriced.

This review was inspired by the lady staff member named Ronnie. She received my family rather cold upon check in. She didn’t acknowledge my Gold status until i mentioned it and She didn’t seem able to provide any knowledge to help me with checkin as I made mistakes during the process. She was dismissive.
She gave the type of energy that should be working in another industry, but not hospitality. I don’t want this energy at any Marriott property I visit.
Later had great service getting a table upstairs at their Sunday Jazz brunch, but the server seemed annoyed that we needed another table due to the rain. She didn’t offer my family silverware or a pin to sign the tab.
I love Marriott and their properties, i don’t want their standards to become compromised by allowing anything less than a best effort.

I will never stay at this hotel again. In the midst of Hurricane Helene aftermath, I had a reservation I needed to cancel, as I am unable to travel - have no power, water etc. Their policy is a 48 hour cancelation window. I called 36 hours in advance to cancel and they said they would still charge my card. The manager finally acquiesced but then hung up on me. How’s that for customer service.
