We stayed three nights for a long weekend and really loved this hotel, which had only opened a few weeks before we stayed there. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and pillows. We especially loved the bathroom, which had a roomy walk-in shower with glass barn doors and good water pressure. The photos of the hotel on the main page show exactly what our room and bathroom looked like (we had a room with a single bed rather than 2 beds).
It is located in downtown Raleigh within easy walking distance of one of the main streets with restaurants and bars, and located a few blocks away from the Morgan Street Food Hall and other restaurants. The hotel has a nice restaurant and bar located on the first floor, and you can also get things to take up to your room. The service was very friendly and responsive. It was exactly what we were looking for, and we highly recommend it.

My wife and I booked the Origin Hotel as a place for our wedding party to get dressed for our wedding ceremony. Several of our out of town guests were staying at the hotel as well. Their level of service was top notch.

On the day we were supposed to check in to our rooms we reached out to the business office to ask about hosting an event at the hotel. Our original location wouldn't work because it had rained all day. The Origin staff let us know their event space was available and also provided excellent levels of service supporting the event. The manager of the event space, Karlee, was very helpful providing not only a great price but also providing service for everything we needed for the event. Karlee, was available throughout the three hours of the event to assist with whatever we needed. She was awesome!

After the event our guests enjoyed great rooms inside the Origin hotel. The rooms were very clean.

The hotel is very modern and located near the Glenwood district, NC State, Hillsborough Street as well as downtown Raleigh. There's several places nearby to eat and plenty of options of things to do nearby.

This hotel is an excellent stay!

Parking for the hotel is available inside the adjacent garage for a fee.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay so much we decided to book there a second time a few days after our wedding.

This hotel is situated downtown and surrounded by numerous places to dine. Completed in 2020 it is a new and clean property. While I am slightly older I enjoyed the modern and stylish decor; every detail thought out. I booked my room online and the room type and requests I made were honored at check in. (Very easy website to navigate). The rooms are both unique and comfortable and include most amenities; high quality finishes. You might want to avoid the city view side rooms if you are a light sleeper due to active railroad tracks. (Other than that the hotel is very quiet and well laid out). This property is pet friendly and charges a small cleaning fee; including arrival treats and pet bed/bowls. The staff is fantastic and accommodating to pet owners. The lobby includes a huge bar area that sells various alcohol/non-alcoholic drinks and breakfast food items to go. Both parking and elevators at this property are well laid out and work well. I have found myself in Raleigh often for 20+ years and this is one of the nicest properties I have stayed at. The staff went out of their way to ensure I had a great stay... the gentleman working evenings at the front desk with glasses and a beard was incredible! Definitely my new spot when visiting Raleigh.

We came to visit our son, who is a freshman at NC State. Excellent, clean hotel with great customer service. Great location, with multiple food options close by, including the Morgan Street Food Hall. Wonderful staff. Felt very safe with the measures they have taken in the COVID-19 era, including Kleenex tissues in the elevators, so you don't have to touch the buttons directly.

The hotel is new and trendy and beautifully decorated. The location is great and parking is very accessible. The images online match the views you receive when you get to the hotel, so there was no surprise there. The bed was inviting and comfy (which makes me sad for the negative part of this review). The decor of the room was really nice. The bathrooms were very modern. We wanted a little overnight staycation to celebrate our recent anniversary and thought this hotel seemed like a fantastic local place to celebrate. I do think that maybe we were put in a queen room when I booked a king as the bed seemed much smaller than our standard king at home…but maybe this could have been from tossing/turning/lack of sleep as well.

Our issue lies in the noise that you hear within the hotel and from outside. Walls were a bit thin between rooms which is typically expected at hotels. However, the outdoor noise at ALL hours of the night was not anticipated. We have stayed at MANY downtown hotels in several different cities and have never had this much issue with outdoor noise. It sounded like Fast & Furious was being filmed outside of our room for most of the night and began again in the early morning. You could hear all traffic, honking, noise, car’s idling, etc.

We did stay on July 4 and anticipated fireworks and some crowd noise until around midnight-ish. We did not anticipate all of the other noise we heard all throughout the night. At one point around 2am, we considered just leaving to get sleep somewhere else. When we finally got to sleep, the noise seemed to start again around 6-6:30am. When we checked out, I mentioned this to the Front Desk agent who said that she doesn’t typically work at nights so wasn’t aware of the noise.

TIP: If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs or maybe asked to be switched to a room on a less busy street if that’s even possible. Also, read the reviews and take them seriously. I had read a review about the noise but thought “Oh maybe they aren’t used to the city” but no this is much more noise than that.

We wanted to love it and it seemed like someplace we could enjoy more staycations, but we’ll go to enjoy the restaurant and bar area.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how your recent stay was at our hotel. We appreciate your positive feedback about the décor and the comforts of your room. I know you had mentioned the bed size and unless your were in a room with two beds all our rooms are king beds so I will take a look into that for your future stay. I do apologize that you were unable to get a good night sleep. We are located in a downtown area of the city and cars do come down by our hotel. I think it just may have been an extremely busy weekend with the 4th and there was more traffic than usual. Since your review though we have worked to put something together for our light sleepers called the Sleepy time kit which comes with a sound machine, sleepy time tea, ear plugs and lavender toilette to give you that relaxed bedtime feel for a good night sleep. I do hope we see you back as our guests. Kind Regards, Todd

Definitely was looking forward to staying at this popular hotel, when we arrived we were told that there is a complementary breakfast and we were in a perfect location for walking to other restaurants etc. there was a bar and restaurant attached to the hotel. When we woke up in the morning we were shocked to see that there was no breakfast and the bartender knew that the front desk was informing us and other guests otherwise. That was disappointing so we paid for our coffee and went out to breakfast every morning. Then when we left the hotel we were surprised to know that we were paying $16 a day for parking that we were never informed of that either. But yet the front desk said when you stay in a hotel in the city that’s how it normally goes well apparently we did not ever experience that all the years of going to hotels so therefore we were shocked or we would’ve never even mentioned it so that was even more disappointing. So I think it’s a better idea to inform your guests properly. We won’t be coming back to the origin sadly. It is a very beautiful hotel the beds and pillows were amazingly comfortable, but with the lack of accommodations information that the employees were misguiding their guest with we will not be back.

The cost is $14.00 dollars per day but its unlimited to come and go. I do hope that we see you back as our guests. Kind Regards, Todd

This was a return visit for us. We work in the medical field and had a conference at another hotel, but elected to stay at Origins again. We are coming off a trip to Paris last month and our expectations were set high after a fabulous trip there.

Origins didn't fail to exceed our expectations once again. The staff was extra friendly yet sincere.

We live in Wilmington where covid masks have relaxed quite a bit, so we were surprised to see so many staff members masked up. They did a great job politely navigating this difficult tight rope of requesting customers to also comply.

Todd B the Manager leads by example. He, Chelsea and Karlee were busy managing a private party above the restaurant, but were often seen mingling and checking in on customers in the main bar/restaurant. They always had a smile on their faces and a kind word for fellow staff and hotel guests.

At night, Oleg and Fidel were so amazing that we elected to stay and dine at the bar. And in the morning, last but not least, Dennis made our morning exits warm and fun, as we felt like VIP after our conversations with him and his service of my favorite locally roasted Larry's Coffee they serve (impressive that they support clean eats for local growers!)

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you! We have already booked another stay in June for a concert at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek! Summer can't get here fast enough!

Sincerely and Bonne Sante!

Aesthetically nice hotel and in a good location. But for what you pay to not have breakfast included, have to pay for parking in the parking garage, walk through the restaurant/bar to get to elevator for the rooms, no closet in the room, no make-up mirror - Just wasn’t worth the cost. The restaurant food was a little disappointing as well. We got it to go and took it up to our rooms since you can’t order room service (technically the restaurant and hotel are separate) and it was kind of bland and just average for the price.

Dear Beekayebee Thank you for taking to let us know how your recent visit was at our hotel. The Origin Hotel is a lifestyle brand hotel which does have some different unique design characteristics. It can be a a little different to not have closets but we do offer the unique hooks to hand your cloths on. We wanted to make sure we did everything to bring other comforts to your room. Since your last visit we were in a transition of chefs so I do apologize that you did not enjoy your meal. With our new chef in place for the last 6 weeks and now offering full breakfast 7 days a week I am confident that you would be pleased. We do hope that you come back to visit us. Kind Regards, Todd

Not what I expected. First there is a small space in front of the hotel to fit two cars so you can check in. The you are informed that the parking is in the garage and it is public parking. There appears to be no bell staff but luggage carts. Front desk representative was very very nice. Once we got to the room, we got the felling that it was used by someone and upon entering the bathroom we see the toilet bowel with fecal matter, used towel and an opened bar of soap. Very odd because the room appeared newer, clean (no closet to hang anything). I went straight to the front desk and she was very apologetic and summoned housekeeping to tidy the room up and said that she would add points being that I am a member. Not a good start but she was very nice. They quickly fixed the issue. Just my gut with the place, it seems like anyone can just walk in and roam around the place, The elevator should be set up with a key swipe to ensure only guests are roaming around, The gym is in a weird place and appears dingy, The route to get there is kinda creepy but well lit. Just did to get a good vibe. The couches next to the bar have spots and need a good cleaning/scrubbing. I ordered an old fashion and it was the worse one I have ever had not event a dark cherry. I just had a sip and looked at my wife who had a sip of hers and we just put it down (after paying) and walked to another place outside the hotel. The bartender was very busy and had his favorites and I stood there like a fool for quite sometime an he asks if I needed something. I felt like saying, no I don't need anything I am just standing here for my health but I didn't I just said I wanted to old fashions, (So clicky and clearly I was not in the click), Just not at all what I expected, Won't stay here again.

Thank you for reaching out to us about your stay. Although we're glad our team was quick to address your concerns, we're truly sorry to hear about the condition of your room upon arrival. What you've described certainly does not reflect the high standards we have in place for cleanliness, and we will work closely with our housekeeping team to ensure these oversights do not happen again. We're also disheartened to hear about your experience at our bar, as our priority is to provide warm and attentive care for every guest. Please know that your comments will be used as a training opportunity with our team. We hope you will reconsider and provide us with another chance to change your impression in the future.

Overall, this was a quaint hotel with modern room styles. Like some of the previous comments, there was a train that did wake me up as a light sleeper. There is a parking garage next right next to the hotel. The restaurant in the hotel was very good and had a nice bar. The employees go above and beyond to ensure your stay is very accommodating. Even if you ask a simple question, they offer to do some extra research for you or ask to bring things to your room as soon as you talk about it. I would visit this hotel again.
