So for those speed reading - the short version - would I stay there again -NO There were plusses I'll get to but the greeting was rude and disrespectful and pretty much ruined anything nice I may have thought. Brett on the night shift greeted me with " we did not know if you were coming or not and you are lucky to have a room as we are fully booked" No hello or glad to see you just insistence that before we go any further, he needs to see a credit card that works and his attitude conveyed that through his benevolence I might get a room. It appears (from best I can tell) that I booked the room during the transition to a Marott tribute hotel. It got booked as a prepaid with an old business credit card that was on file with Mariott from before the pandemic. That card was compromised and replaced but they tried to run it as a prepaid room. I booked the room almost 3 months in advance and returned the email or text a couple days before that I was confirming I would be there around 7 pm. I did notice in the confirmation the last 4 digits of the credit card they used were not correct but did not think anything of it as I was going to be there soon with a different card. No inkling there were any issues until the reception. I can understand computer glitches on a change like they did and would have just rolled with it if not for the attitude I was given. I usually stay at Marott chains if given the chance but this one is not worthy of a Mariott status with staff like that. So the plusses: it is newly renovated, so it is very clean. Walls are paper thin though and rooms are (at least mine) very small. It is also within walking distance of the museums and downtown. The day staff was pleasant and helpful when I asked for suggestions on where to go while in town.…
The Origin Hotel is a new, sleek modern hotel. It was very quiet and comfortable. It is in the city so you have expected city noise but it was not bothersome. All the staff were very friendly and always greeted me with a welcoming hello. I had dinner at the bar and the food was excellent. The menu was limited but in these times, not unexpected. There is a parking garage right next to the hotel with easy access. I was traveling alone and felt very safe. I would definitely stay here again.
This hotel has a lot to offer. The room decor was great (though small), the bed was comfy, and the bathroom was clean. Every single staff member we interacted with was outstanding. However, the walls are very thin. We heard people all around us, at all hours of the night (on a weeknight). We could hear phone alarms going off, people laughing, people walking around... And I don't think anyone was being particularly loud. It seems the walls are just very thin. Sad to say we wouldn't stay here again, despite all the positives. If you're a deep sleeper, then this could be a great choice.
We had a very poor experience at The Casso in Raleigh. We had a group of people open our door after we went to bed around 1 or 2 in the morning because the front desk ASSIGNED THEM OUR ROOM BY ACCIDENT. The next morning our keys no longer worked. The management was apologetic but took no actions to give us a refund or even offer a formal apology. As a hotel with a good reputation, security and safety should be their top priority. This is inexcusable and embarrassing for them. We could have had all of our belongings stolen or could have been endangered because the front desk willingly gave up our room to someone else. Please reconsider before booking this hotel.
Came here for a short trip and fell in love. The atmosphere was fun and energetic. Room was clean and well stocked. The staff was personable and friendly! Definitely try Good Day Good Night. You won't be disappointed. Didn't get a chance to sit at The bar but I will next time! Love everything about our stay
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and was sad to leave. The room was gorgeous, the hotel itself was lovely, and the Morgan Street Food Hall down the street was such a treat! The staff was wonderful and allowed me to check in early. I was so pleased with my stay that I hope I get to stay there again.
Fabulous place to stay in Raleigh! So convenient to many places and within walking distance to great restaurants! Simple but well supplied room with comfy bed and even a sound machine to help with the train! Beautiful view of Raleigh, too! Hope to be back!
The Origin was the perfect place to stay for our wedding. The hotel is extremely clean with a sleek modern look. All our guests are raving about how much fun they had. The rooms are comfortable and roomy, the bar is awesome, the food is great, but the best part is the service! We had a few hiccups (as expected with over 100 guests) but our problems were dealt with swiftly and professionally by all of The Origin’s team members. We will absolutely be back, and I recommend this place to anyone heading to the Triangle area.
Loved everything about this cute little hotel! The modern look and feel, friendly staff, cute rooms with great touches and fresh appearance. There were nice touches throughout and a cute basket of goodies to help with noise (they are near train tracks) but they were not needed. I happen to like to sound of trains and didn’t even hear one.
Great hotel, centrally located with very nice staff. Check in and checkout were very efficient. They were nice enough to accommodate my check in earlier. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Would definitely stay here again.
