Hotel's Favourite
We were in town so that our daughter could compete in the Science Olympiad at NC State. Overall the hotel was clean, well located (to both downtown, restaurants, Pullen Park and the University). It felt safe, abundant parking (it shared a parking lot with Sams Club, so filling up gas was easy on the way home). We had a room with a king bed, pull out couch and a hot tub in the room. Everything worked, although we had to go downstairs to get the sheets for the pull out couch, but no big deal. Breakfast was typical for such a hotel. I'd rate it as 3-4 starts under normal circumstances, nothing fancy but nothing wrong, good location, so maybe 4 starts. But, my wife left a book in the room and the hotel mailed it back to us, which was very kind, so 5 stars today. Thanks!

We stayed there for a night and we loved it! The lady at the front desk was friendly, kind and funny! We shared a few laughs! The room was super big and it had everything! The King size bed was incredibly comfy and we rested and slept like babies. Breakfast was yummy. It had a lot of everything. Hot bacon, yummy potatoes, scrambled eggs, cereals, different types of bagels and bread, jams and cream cheese, waffles, fruit, juices, milk, chocolate milk, yogurt, coffee, tea… and Michelle was lovely! She kept cooking yummy food and asking everyone if there was anything we needed or wanted. Thank you Michelle!! The hotel has a heated pool but we tried going twice and it was packed with families and children so we couldn’t bother. Excellent location and free parking. Highly recommended!!!

The cost was great for what we got. 7 minutes from the main downtown area. Everything we wanted to do was 20 minutes or less away. Yes, some things needed to be repaired, but I wasn't planning on spending all my time in the room. It served its purpose.

08/27/2021 The owner of this hotel is awesome, he's there everyday. The hotel is very clean and he is fixing up the minor areas as fast as he can. Rooms are very clean, and the beds are very comfortable, 42inch tv. hell i've stayed at holiday inns and they only have 32inch tv. if you are in the area and need a nice clean hotel stay here. Clean rooms and the breakfast you would expect. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. The staff was friendly. The Downtown title is misleading - this is slightly south of I-40. Good hotel for an overnight stay. I'll be back.

Good location but the room needs serious repairs, from the 3 two inch black spots, the torn side of the desk chair, cabinet holding the refrigerator stripped of paint, stains on the bedspread, the wall by the door to come in scraped and scratched, to the bathroom corners with cracked molding and black stains and corners We are waiting to see if the manager will give us some credit. We had to leave on Sunday and he will not be available until Tuesday according to staff.

While on our way to the South Carolina coast we decided to stop in Raleigh for dinner and some rest. We chose the Quality Inn based on its proximity to the interstate and the downtown area where we had dinner. It was easy check in and check out. The room was comfortable and clean. We'll stay here again if we're passing through.

We stayed at the Quality Inn in Raleigh for the Animazement anime convention this past weekend. Two years ago, we stayed here when it was a Comfort Inn, and booked again because of the value - less than $80/night before taxes. The property still has some traces of its former identity - their voicemail recording and wi-fi network name both still mention Comfort Inn, as well as the I-40 exit services signs (that last one is under the auspices of the NCDOT and not the hotel, however.) It's not a terribly big deal, but it might cause confusion for guests who are unaware that it was a COmfort Inn until recently. Our room was 109, with a king bed. Some changes were made since our last stay, including new bed covers/throws (presumably switching out Comfort standard ones for Quality ones) and new carpeting (a welcome improvement since our room carpet two years ago was a bit nasty.) I noticed three issues with our room this stay, and nothing serious. Two of them - a phone that wouldn't work (no dial tone) and an alarm clock that was missing the adjustment dial, and thus was 20 minutes fast for our entire stay with no way to correct it or use the alarm - were things that we could use our cell phones for anyway, so they weren't that big of a deal. The third involved the bathtub area. The granite surround/trim was stained and discolored at the bottom edge, and the grout in the corners had a significant buildup of a black substance. It could possibly be either mold or ground-in dirt, but since I didn't smell mold, I'm hopeful it's the latter. Either way, it doesn't look nice, and housekeeping would be advised to look into it. Everything else in the room was finen and comfortable - clea. Furniture was a bit age-worn but still functional. Beds were comfortable and no wi-fi issues. Refrigerator and microwave included. Additional outlets and USB ports were actually on the alarm clock. Breakfast each morning included bacon, and was good as far as hotel breakfasts go. Staff was friendly, even if their solution to the alarm clock issue was "schedule a wake-up call" instead of replacing the clock. The hotel has a fitness room, which we did not use, but no pool. Two computers in the lobby, but they're at a height where you have to stand to use them, and my travel companion reported that the printer is currently not working. Though not as good as recent Quality stays in Pineville and Greensboro, the Quality Inn Raleigh is a very good hotel and value in close proximity to the downtown area. If not for the three issues in our room - the malfunctioning phone, the clock with broken knob, and the dirt in the bath area - I would have rated it as excellent. Regardless, a hotel priced below $80/night on a weekend with a major event in town isn't something I can complain about too much, and the hotel worked perfectly fine for our three night stay. Recommended if you need downtown Raleigh accommodations and price is a more important factor than new, shiny decor and fixtures. It's not luxury, but it's clean, comfortable, friendly, and offers a free breakfast, and that's all we needed for the weekend. We'll likely stay again on future Animazement trips.

Me and my husband stayed here recently for a show at the Duke Energy Center. The hotel is ok for a 1 night stay, but not sure if I would have stayed longer. It is very dated, but our room was clean and the bed average comfort I guess. I did want to get in a quick work out, but that did not happen. The elliptical machine was out of order and the treadmill would not turn on? Did not go down for breakfast so can't comment on that. The check in/out was very easy and desk clerk was very courteous. All in all it was ok for one night, but again, not sure if I would have stayed longer.

Hotel close to interstate. Hotel staff very friendly. Spacious parking. Room was very comfortable. Firm bed. Fridge and microwave in room. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Looked like some remodeling had taken place and wasn’t the most perfect job but wasn’t horrible either. Breakfast was standard hotel affair..it was hot and coffee was good.
