We stayed here during a stopover. We typically choose Marriott brand due to the rewards. Check in was easy and pleasant. We were most impressed by the cleanliness of the room. Visually everything looked good, which it typically does. Due to my concerns over sanitation, we brought our own cleansing wipes and wiped down all of the "high touch" surfaces, counters, handles, remotes and the bathroom. Surprising most of the cloths came back visibly clean with very little dirt/dust! Only one family is allowed on the elevator at a time and they limit the traffic coming in to the building. They no longer have free buffet service, but do provide a bagged continental breakfast (juice, protein bar, applesauce and muffin) which is reasonable considering the circumstances.

Terencia and David are awesome! But more on that in a second. This hotel is brand new, close to everything in downtown Raleigh, and staffed with amazing people. We were in town for a wedding and we truly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, the breakfast served in the mornings was hot and fresh, and you can tell they take pride in making sure their guests are happy. When the wedding was over, we enjoyed ourselves at the rooftop bar and the bartenders were top notch. I especially want to commend Terencia and David, who helped us at the front desk. Terencia is full of valuable knowlesge and David was always very eager to help. I do a lot of traveling and I have to say that it's been a while since I have had such attentive and friendly help. I was truly blown away by their level of customer service. I highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed!

This is my 6th or 7th stay at this hotel since 2017. Each and every time I have been impressed with the level of service and hospitality of this hotel. The rooms are large, comfortable, and well equipped. The rooms seemed soundproof, so quiet.
The location is in the heart of downtown Raleigh, allowing you to explore the many museums and restaurants.
I recommend the rooftop restaurant, 10th & Terrace. The menu is creative and changes regularly. I recommend a couple of small plates and a signature cocktail, the perfect attitude adjustment.

I have stayed at the Residence Inn several times in the past as an attendee of the annual IBMA/World of Bluegrass conference and street fair and have had a fine experience. Unfortunately, this year the experience was subpar and not up to the previous standards. Here are my major complaints:

1. The bed was terrible. Saggy and lumpy. Really there is no excuse for this at the rates they charge.
2. Minimal house keeping provided. Yes, I know that hotels cut back on their housekeeping during the pandemic however most hotels are back to full servicing at this point. Over the 6 nights that I stayed there, the only servicing that I got was the replacement of the towels. Even the coffee maker had a used filter in it left over from a previous guest.
3. Restaurant. I had dinner one night at the restaurant and ordered a $22 salad. When it arrived, I asked for some rolls and butter to which the waiter said that they had none as they only got rolls delivered on Monday (it was Friday). When I said any type of bread would be fine, he said he would see if he could scrounge up some hamburger buns. He then promptly disappeared into the kitchen only to return and tell me that the cook Saud that he was "too slammed" to get me any bread until things slowed down. Why the waiter didn't just get it himself is beyond me and in any case it was a ridiculous answer. Eventually another waiter, sensing that I was unhappy, came over and asked if he could help. I explained to him the bread situation to which he just shook his head and went off to the kitchen and got me some bread and butter straight away.

While I am not one who generally complains, the current level of service at the Residence Inn is definitely not up to standards and I will seriously consider switching to one of the other hotels the next time I attend IBMA.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this RI. The staff, location, and ease of parking the car for in/out access made this property stand out. We loved the King Studio suite, which was spacious and modern.

Most importantly, we felt safe and clean during these times of Covid. Thank you to the housekeeping team!

Stayed here for an event at the convention center, perfect location! Very friendly staff, Diana in housekeeping could not have been more helpful. Clean rooms, TV's on mounts that swivel, loved it! The rooftop bar, 10th & Terrace, was a perfect spot to unwind, and my colleagues and I were there in winter so just imagine how nice it is up there in spring or fall. Breakfast can get busy, but that's to be expected but the staples were available and the staff there was always on point. As all Residence Inn's do, the room had a kitchen so I went to Weaver Street Market and got breakfast supplies (ground coffee, a must as there's a drip coffee maker) and ate breakfast in my room most mornings. Closest Starbucks is in the Marriott across the way, can get VERY busy so making your own will be helpful. I would absolutely stay there again.

This is a great property downtown near the convention center with easy parking, great breakfast and a rooftop bar with a view. It was very quiet and staff were wonderful. The rooms have everything you need in the kitchen and rooms are laid out well for a lengthy stay if needed. The only complaint I have is that the ice maker buzzes for about 5 seconds when it is refilling with water. This woke us up the first night twice until we realized the source and turned it off. We rectified the issue by turning it on during the day when we were away, allowing it to make ice, then turned it off at bedtime.

As soon as we opened the door to our room it was love at first sight! My husband and I decided to take a staycation for our 30th wedding anniversary and we could not have been more pleased with Residence Inn in downtown Raleigh. We stayed in a corner, 2-room suite with a city view. The living room and kitchen were incredibly spacious and the comfy king-size bed and huge walk-in shower made our stay extra special. We were so happy with the room and hotel that we are planning to make this an annual getaway! The location is perfect, right near the hub of the city, yet not in the middle of the mix, so it's easy to walk to most downtown locations. Looking forward to returning soon!

Hotel itself was great - good location, clean, nice rooms. My only issue was a charge at the rooftop bar. The bartender charged us twice by accident but getting one of those refunded was an act of God! Over the course of 30 days, I called 3 times and emailed on 3 separate occasions to get it taken care of with NO RESPONSE. None! Finally, on my FOURTH call, I reached Hadassa who was extremely helpful, nice, and responsive. It took her a few days to get the information she needed, but kept me updated each day to let me know she was still working on it. Whoever is working their email needs to be fired.

Arriving at a hotel for check-in at near midnight is never ideal, especially after a cross-country plane flight. But our arrival at the excellent Residence Inn in downtown Raleigh came with a strange twist. The front-desk receptionist directed us to get to our room by dragging our heavy suitcases outside the hotel, down a half flight of stairs then enter the parking garage to gain access to the hotel. This roundabout made no sense to us at that late hour, but we weren't about to argue so off we went.
Only the next morning did we sort through what happened. The receptionist mistakenly assumed that we had a rental car and give us directions to the parking garage for that. We didn't. And there was no vehicle in the loading zone parking space, so why she assumed that was beyond us.
Other receptionists during our stay were shocked when we mentioned this mistake and apologized profusely. But the damage had been done and this review would have been remiss in not mentioning this problem in hopes that it never happens to any future customers.
Otherwise, we were much impressed with this fine new facility. Our king suite was spacious, the amenities generous, the bathroom larger than many other places, the king bed very comfortable with plenty of pillows.
Breakfasts were good and ample with new items rotated in each morning. A huge caldron of by-scratch oatmeal, always available, was a tasty and healthy way to start a morning even in summer. A half dozen fresh add-on's to the oatmeal, from coconut flakes, brown sugar, raisins & cranberries, made it into a fine breakfast specialty (way better than instant).
We found the Residence Inn's location to be a bit on the edge of downtown but certainly walkable to downtown eateries and other attractions. The Convention Center is right next door.
We'd stay this Residence Inn again, but would never head out to the parking garage with our luggage when the elevators were right behind us and only 15 feet from the reception desk.

Right across South Street next to the hotel. If you can see the downtown Raleigh map to the right of this posting, zoom in and hit the "satellite" button. The map shows an actual satellite pic of the area and you can see all the park type grassy areas around the hotel.
