The rooftop bar was awesome. $5 beers so it was budget friendly. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in a while. The rooms were clean and spacious. House keeping came around everyday to check on us as well.
Highly recommend. Stayed one night with my family of five. Staff was courteous. Breakfast was good. Enjoyed eating on the terrace. Room was nice and spacious. Plenty of space for all of us. Parking garage is adjacent to hotel and very convenient.
I never write reviews but this experience was too upsetting not to. I went to the Residence Inn Raleigh Downtown for a business conference. It was a long travel day from Los Angeles, made much more difficult with a broken ankle on one leg and an arthritic knee on the other. When I arrived they claimed they had not received the payment authorization from my company’s travel agency. OK, that’s possible. However, I had recently had an expensive pet medical emergency so I myself did not have a card with enough credit to cover the $1500 for the 5 nights I was staying. Of course by that time it was too late to reach the travel agency, even with the time difference. Since I could cover one night on my own they were willing to do that, but the rest of my reservation would not be guaranteed. Every hotel in the area was booked at this point, so that could not happen. I ended up having to ask my parents to use their card to cover the charges until it could be worked out with the travel agency. At this point I have not eaten all day. I go to the Element restaurant to get some food, ordered a burger. Why they asked me what temperature I wanted I have no idea. I asked for rare and it came extremely well done, disgusting to me. Later in the week, I went back to the restaurant with my boss. I of course was not going to eat there again, but she ordered the chicken Alfredo. It took 40 minutes to come out. It was cold, but worse, it was not cooked through. I highly recommend never going to this restaurant. The second day I was there I was notified by the travel agent that the authorization had absolutely been sent previously, and they sent it again and sent me a copy. The night before I was to check out I asked the desk clerk about a late checkout because my flight was unfortunately not until 7:30pm the next day. With my broken ankle I was not able to do anything to pass the time. He generously told me if I was a member (I am) and due to the trouble I had upon checkin and due to my ankle, that I could stay in the room until 4pm, which was fantastic. He said he would put a note in the system and I would need to call the morning. I called the morning of checkout and spoke with the front desk supervisor. She told me she did see the note, but it only said I wanted a late checkout, which would be 12pm. I explained my situation and what the other front desk clerk had told me. She said she didn’t know why he told me that, that the 4pm checkout is reserved for their platinum and other VIP members, not a lowly regular member like myself. She did end up giving me until 2pm, but that still left me with several hours to sit either in their lobby or at the airport. In addition, they charged my parents’ credit card for the stay. Luckily I noticed that and was still at the hotel sitting in the lobby. I went to tell them and at first she couldn’t find the authorization from the travel agency, but magically did after some searching. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful, did what they could to assist and accommodate. The front desk supervisor not so much. If one of my employees promised a client something they perhaps should not have, but that we did have the power and ability to accommodate, especially with mitigating circumstances, I would. I would not just tell them sorry, they shouldn’t have told you that, you’re out of luck. Do not recommend this hotel and especially not the restaurant.…
+Convenient downtown location but far from airport +Two bar/restaurants with friendly staff -The lobby is tiny and unwelcoming -My room had peeling wallpaper and a stained ceiling. -No maid service-they will bring towels and empty trash, but that’s it. For $200+ a night I’d like to have my bed made and an extra mini bottle of hand lotion -The Red Hat Amphitheater is next door and one night of my stay was disrupted by a loud concert lasting past 10:30 pm -Platinum status provided me a room with a view of the other wing of the hotel, so no view at all If I have to return to Raleigh I’ll stay at the Marriott across the street.
Checked in early on Friday the 21st, greeted by Terencia who was a true professional ! She checked us in early and offered us a late check out to to the snow. The lounge on the 10th floor was great too. Thanks for the hospitality! Parking was convenient!
Great location, convenient parking, friendly staff, a great kitchen, a wonderful breakfast buffet, a nice exercise room, and a top-floor bar/restaurant with rooftop seating. What's not to love??!?? THE SHOWERS! Ugh. Love this place and was prepared to make it my home-away-from-home as I am frequently in Raleigh with work, but the showers might be a deal breaker. It might just be me, but I REALLY don't care for the fact that glass showers are not fully enclosed. In a space which would fit a glass pane and shower door, there is only one pane of glass and no door to fill the remaining gap. This opening allows air to come in while showering and prevents one from staying warm unless you stand directly under the water. Maybe this is a strategy to keep folks from taking long showers or showering with others. It could also be the latest hip trend, but either way I prefer to a shower which does not let cold air in while I am showering. Other than the issue with the shower, this place is great!…
Stayed for a weekend in Raleigh. Clean, friendly staff, perfect location. If you are looking for a home base while in Raleigh, this is a great option. The room was very spacious and clean. Highly recommend!
First, I had to ring the door buzzer 3 times before the clerk, who was standing at the front desk, would even open the door. I am always willing to do what it takes to make others feel safe. The best way for me to describe the way that I am being treated is to say they are nice nasty. I work a mid-shift, the reason for late check-in. Now, Long story short, I reserved a larger room that cost more. They chose to put me in a cheaper room and still are trying to charge me for the room I reserved and not the one they put me in. If, you don't want people that look like me in your hotel, why don't you put up a sign. That's what they used to do!
My daughters and I got a room for the night since we went to a concert right up the road at Red Hat Amphitheater, super quick walk to the venue. Perfect location. Check in & out was simple, room was clean, parking deck was a plus, as well as a free breakfast that Sunday morning. Every staff member I encountered was helpful and friendly. As a Hilton honors member, i now think highly of Marriot properties.
I just recently checked into the Marriott Residence Inn 10/5, while my loft is being remodeled and I must say my stay has been EXCEPTIONAL so far!! Security is top tier & you must have a keycard to access main lobby after business hours as well as a keycard to access floors via elevator. Although I’m away from the property (weekdays) during daytime hours & majority of night, the fulfilling home style breakfast prepared by CHEF ROZ gets my day started with positivity! The breakfast is absolutely divine and can definitely give your favorite breakfast spot major competition if ever placed against one another!! The entire breakfast crew is a pleasure to wake up to honestly. I appreciate how accommodating Ms.Elaine, Mr.Simon & Mr. Peter have been so far, and I appreciate all the attention they provide my fiancé and I as we venture to breakfast each morning. My puppy is enjoying his stay here as well and looks forward to going for various walks around the property which has wonderful views. His favorite walks are at night however because the light displays around downtown are beautiful!! I’m in a King corner suite and I absolutely love everything about the room including the spaciousness & beautiful views seen through the picturesque windows. The cleanliness throughout my personal room as well as public areas of the hotel have been impeccable! I’m genuinely impressed and thankful for both the outstanding breakfast crew & housekeeping staff! I hope they’re being recognized and shown immense gratitude from the Marriott brand because they’re AMAZING & IRREPLACEABLE!!!!!…
