What a terrible experience. I arrived at this hotel and did not get a warn nor friendly welcome at all. It was as if i was a person asking for direction. The person that i was not friendly never told me anything about the hotel, never smiled, no greeting, not even a thank you for coming to this hotel. I did not know anything. He did not even tell me where to park and he witness me park in front of the front door. The housekeeper advised me on where to park. Did not know about the fitness center that was free to guest. Was clueless to any of the hotel amenities due to the fact that no one told me. I had book for 2 days in town for a funeral and check out after one with the lack of unprofessional service that i got. Was not aware that i got three authorization on my card and there was also $100.00 a night incidental charges that i was not aware until the credit card company called me and suspected fraud being attempt on my card. I left asap from this hotel after 1 night and was told that the general manager would be in touch. 5 days later, yes, nothing at all. Elite membership, customer service, quality is not at this hotel. Amex had to change my card due to authorizations that i was clueless about and still was over charge from this hotel. And still i called to get help and yes, still not a call from anyone. Not a friendly front desk nor did i feel welcome at any point at this hotel.

Dear empire02, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for being our valued guest. Normally our staff does a terrific job of responding to our guests’ needs, and in your case, that did not happen. Please know this is not typical of our Renaissance and we hope you will forgive us. We appreciate your comments and will use them to ensure service levels are consistent with Marriott's standards. We have been in contact with you regarding your experience and hope to better serve you in the future. Sincerely, Melissa Chunn General Manager

Stayed here one night with my college-aged daughter. The hotel is in a great location with cute shops and good restaurants nearby, but this property is nowhere near worth the $250/night price. First, there is no valet service so we parked at the general parking lot for the area. Not a huge deal, but there weren't any luggage carts and it was raining the day we checked it, so it wasn't fun schlepping our bags in the rain (to be fair, we later learned there is underground parking available in the back of the hotel) Check in was ok - none of the front desk staff was very friendly and you got the sense you were bothering them. (I also found it surprising that no room upgrades were available midweek during a pandemic for a Titanium level Bonvoy member) The room was nice enough (shower in particular was very good) - we weren't on the side of the hotel facing the highway and were on a higher floor so it was quiet. The big issue I had was there weren't any amenities (no gym, the restaurant and bar were closed, and no coffee in the hotel lobby) or anything otherwise exceptional to warrant the price and attitude. You'd be better served saving some money and staying at either the nearby Aloft or Hyatt House.

My wife and I were driving to Raleigh for my medical procedure the following day. We checked in on 10/22/20 only to be some what cold shouldered front desk clerks. Once we got to our room we always check for bedbugs, we found alive bed bugs. We took a video to the front desk and they acted like we were beneath them only to get a scoff. I will do my best to spread the word because of the way we were treated

Dear 848keept, Thank you for your review. We apologize that your stay with us was not a satisfying one. Your feedback is important to us. We take any issues of pests extremely seriously and performed a thorough inspection upon receiving your feedback. The results were negative, but we did take extra precautions to ensure the room does not contain pests of any kind. Additionally, the hotel contracts a third-party vendor for preventative pest control monthly, as well as has random inspections provided by the Health Department on a semi-annual basis, to ensure pest control, as well as overall cleanliness standards, are maintained. I hope this has restored your faith in us. We appreciate your business and hope you'll choose us again. Sincerely, Melissa Chunn General Manager

We stayed at this hotel for one night in the middle of a lengthy trip. It is during the Covid-19 pandemic, so things were a little different than usual I assume. Nonetheless, I felt they did a good job with social distancing and keeping the area clean. There were hand sanitizers properly placed over the property. While it was just an overnight stay, we were not disappointed. The property is located I the center of the North Hills Mall area. There were plenty of shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. In fact, after we dropped off our bags, we went for a nice walk and dined close by. The room was nice and quiet and gave us plenty of space. The bathroom was nice as well. For some reason, when the designed the hotel, they did not give king size rooms balconies. That would have been a nice touch. Overall, it is a nice place to stay in the Raleigh area.

I'll take half of the blame for my experience but not all. I am of a "certain age" living not far from the hotel. I wanted to have a luxury night to myself. A staycation of sorts. Check in was fine. This is where I take 50% of the blame. My room view was that of the traffic zooming down the highway. I am also a member of Marriott Bonvoy so sorta thought I would just get a decent view. I have stayed here before and also given a free stay as an event donation. When I stayed here there were some nice little perks in the room i.e. mini bottle of wine, cheese and fruit....there was not even a bottle of water in the room this time. Perhaps it was a package last time? I will say the room was clean. The best part was the 12:00 noon(later)checkout.
