I am a fan of Hyatt Place hotels, and this was no exception. We stayed for one night in a room with a king bed and a pullout couch which our 8 year old slept on. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was delicious! Hot scrambled eggs, sausage, crispy mixed potatoes, pancakes, yogurt, breads & cereals, and different kinds of fresh fruit. Plus coffee (of course) and a nice selection of Tazo teas. The fitness room has two treadmills, a bike, and an elliptical, and one small set of free weights (3, 5, and 8 pounds). There’s free parking right on site.

Duke Raleigh hosp stay 4th stay at this hotel while spouse was having surgery, all stays within past 6 mons. The location is great. The staff could not be better. Wish there were more working electrical outlets in the rooms, but that is the only complaint I can think of giving. Joining their loyalty program is a great idea as it allows you free breakfast and they have a really good offering. Very satisfied.

When I first arrived, desk clerk told me they had not received payment. I responded by showing where the payment had already posted to my bank account 2 weeks prior, to which he proceeded to berate me for booking through a third party app(the Hopper), and told me I would have to contact the Hopper to have them forward proof of payment to the hotel. After I fumbled with my phone trying to figure out how to reach a live person, the desk clerk asked to see what they had sent me by way of confirmation. I showed him the confirmation and he said “this is what I need,” referring to the confirmation code. Obviously, if he had asked for that from the start I could have shown it right away. May I insert here that there were NO other cars in the parking lot (I checked), and I not once saw another soul at the hotel other than the front desk clerk. The “hot breakfast” they offered consisted of pre-packaged boiled eggs, stale bagels, cream cheese, some yogurt, orange juice, and lukewarm coffee. I’m generously giving 3 stars because my stay was peaceful and the room was clean.

Let me start with the good, the tall woman with the braids behind the counter was great! She made you feel welcome and was very respectful, professional and informative. I appreciated her knowledge of the surrounding area.

Now the "not so good" Keep in mind, I don't know what the particulars of the COVID restrictions are in this state, but it surprised me that in the room we had no drinking glasses (plastic or glass,) no cups (paper or ceramic,) only one trash can for the two rooms, only 1 bar of soap, so you had to take the sink soap to the shower when needed. I was told at the front desk that you must take the glasses out of the breakfast area in the lobby to bring to your room if you desired any glasses at all. The person at the front desk said that because of COVID restrictions, no glasses are left in the room for guests. I didnt understand that.

In the elevators, they had stick on room deodorizers. I was informed that this hotel used to be a "American Suites Hotel" and that Hyatt has yet to classify this particular hotel.

During our overnight stay, we wanted to take a quick dip in the pool. The pool area was clean, but lacked enough towels for the guests. The towels that were available, were all different colors, and looked worn and old. They could use some new towels.

The bathroom shower had great water pressure, that we liked! Our reservation asked for a quiet room not near an elevator or ice machine. Those instructions were followed, but sadly that put us near the pool, and that was noisy.

The hotel appeared to have a good amount of guests. The location was good for us. .

I came to the desk after breakfast hour and asked if they have any coffee. The FD agent informed me that he can make me a cup of coffee for a small charge. I was disappointing to hear that, if a person stays at a Hyatt and can not get a complimentary cup of coffee any time of the day, is not Hospitality.

I warn any traveler that prioritizes room cleanliness when selecting a hotel not to stay at Hyatt Place North Raleigh-Midtown. We arrived at the hotel on a Friday evening for a weekend stay to find that the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly. It was absolutely disgusting. The bathtub had hair in it and the shower walls were covered in long strands of hair and the floor was dirty. Additionally, the bed had little pieces of hair and debris in the sheets. I requested that the room be cleaned but apparently the cleaning staff never got my message because the room was never cleaned during my stay and the hotel manager was "off" that weekend and couldn't be contacted to resolve the issue during our stay. By far the worst hotel stay I've ever experienced. I would advise travelers to avoid this hotel at all costs.

Nobody at front desk was wearing masks.

Then I had to ask for my license back as she left it in her machine.

Specifically requested in advance in notes of reservation that extra set of towels and to ensure linens for pullout were available in room. Neither happened.

In addition, there was a coffee maker but zero supplies (no cups, no coffee, no supplies).

A/C is the old-fashioned kind, on the unit at the window and was very loud and inefficient.

Bathroom poorly planned - hard to enter and shut door behind oneself.

Also, could hear doors down the hall in either direction slamming early in the morning. Turns out that ours slammed by itself too when leaving. Really poor closing mechanisms that wake everybody who has not yet risen.

Our stay was during the beginning of the state of emergency for NC due to the Corona virus. Even with all the fear and chaos going on around us we were met by extremely friendly, helpful and nice staff. While trying to keep everyone helped and happy they still made time to clean at all times during the day and night and remain upbeat, helpful and friendly.

The overall stay was good, but check in was a messbwith out internet.
TV was offline until early evening, and wifi was out until after 11pm (dont know when it came back online - I gave in and went to bed).
The room was good, spacious, and well appointed. The location worked for me but can be challenging during peak commute times.
Breakfast is still very limited (covid), and packaged instant oatmeal (just boring.) But hot coffee and plenty to have!)

I like the brand, I like the chain, and I like the loyalty program provided.

The staff, location, suites, amenities are all top notch. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel accepts pets for a good price and provides a potty area for them, the suites are spacious and fit my family well. The staff provides coffee, dinnerware and cutlery at the desk and that was very convenient.

The location is perfect! Right off the highway, next to a few restaurants and a nice grocery store and shopping center.
