If you are looking for a getaway to the North Carolina mountains, I cannot recommend Half-Mile Farm enough. Situated in an idyllic setting outside the town of Highlands, it was just what my wife and I were looking for - a place to relax and unwind. We did both at this beautiful mountain retreat. The staff were all outstanding and did there best to accommodate all our needs. Kyle and Carol at the front desk were always very helpful. Blake, our bartender took our requests and was able to make some “off-the-menu” libations. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Our waitress Ursuea was extremely attentive without being overbearing. Our entire experience at Half-Mile Farm was terrific. I couldn’t recommend it more highly

We had such a nice time. The two of us are sort of plant crazy and this was the place for us. A botanical oasis of relaxation. We could have rocked in those rocking chairs in the garden area ( with our wine of course ) forever. The service was great and the staff are all very friendly. The daily breakfast was a pleasant surprise every morning and the 5 pm snacks/ drinks was another plus. The room was large and exceeded our expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone who wants to relax in luxury.

We had a fantastic two nights at Half Mile Farm. From being greeted with champagne to my massage to sitting in the rocking chairs enjoying the views to the incredibly attentive staff - we couldn't have asked for anything more. Came home totally rejuvenated.

This beautiful, peaceful property is located less than 5 minutes from downtown Highlands. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you feel like you are among family. Each and every staff member goes out of their way to make you feel at home. I enjoyed the welcome glass of champagne upon arrival as well as the delicious breakfast served each morning. The extra Easter activities were an added plus as well as the visiting chef that provided special appetizers during the social hour. My favorite part was my 80 minute massage right on property. Truly heaven on earth. I will certainly return.

The Half-Mile Farm is a wonderful place to get away with outstanding facilities and staff. To us the nice part is being a few minutes from town while being able to enjoy to beauty and serenity of the region. Waking up yo a truly gourmet breakfast before heading out to an adventurous day of luxury at the spa to the enjoyment of the Bascom Art Museum or just wandering the streets streets of Highlands or social hour at the Farm, fantastic dinner at Madisons and finally tucking in to the luxury of you room. We have stayed at the Farm a number of times and it has never failed to be a fantastic experience. I hope you will have the chance to experience its outstanding facilities and staff as we have.

Beautiful rooms and grounds. The staff are excellent and pay attention to every detail. We had breakfast and it was great. Only got to stay one night but we will go back when we can stay longer. It is close to downtown, and they have a shuttle bus also. Book you a room, you will not be disappointed. Five stars all the way.
