My girlfriend and I stayed here for a few nights for a wedding in Highlands. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful- when they were there. When my girlfriend and I were locked out of our room at 9 PM due to our smart lock malfunctioning, there wasn't anybody on-site to help us with the problem. This would have been alright, except that the immediate assistance phone number left by the hotel didn't pick up, and didn't have a voicemail set up. My girlfriend and I were stuck outside our room for nearly three hours until, thankfully, she figured out what the problem was and we managed to get in. The problem? We were given an incorrect password upon check-in and the smart lock died on us. For context, the hotel is in the process of being put under new management, so maybe the immediate assistance number is set up now. Again, though, the hotel has no night staff- if something really goes wrong, you're on your own for at least half an hour even if somebody picks up. The only way we were able to get in contact with anybody after-hours, though, was through the hotel's Facebook page, and it was the hotel's previous owner, not current management, that responded to us. When we went to speak to the front desk the next morning, they told us the hotel's management would be reaching out to us. It's been nearly a week, and we have not heard from them.…
I can't say enough about the great accommodations of The Wells Hotel! Cleanliness and polite demeanor of staff were top notch. Jonah Tuggle was on top of everything. I am coming back here every chance I get. The lobby was absolutely an added amenity. I had business to do and it provided a comfortable ambiance as an extension of my room. Though the hotel is located on Hwy 64, you couldn't hear any road noise from the rooms. It was super quiet and of course, the location with being able to walk to town was ample. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed The Petite room for one night! Very clean and comfortable in a great location near downtown. We felt very safe and I'm confident that this boutique hotel is perfect for anyone during a short stay (like us) or an extended one. Could not have asked for a better room!
My family and I stayed at the wells hotel this past holiday weekend and it was great. Everything from the service to the room itself was outstanding. The location is also excellent and everything in town is walkable. This hotel was a great find.
We loved the convenience of the electronic locks since I'm someone that is always misplacing the room card. We stayed in room 5 which was well appointed, however there was scuffed paint by the steps and in the bathroom which brought the aesthetic down. The couch and bed were on the firm side and sat low. The bathroom has a shower head and separate shower wand with high end soap and toiletries. I would stay here again!
We enjoyed both the price, the aesthetic, the comfortable bed, and the cleanliness of the place. We stayed in room 9. We will be back for sure. The only thing that I would recommend is to bring a sleep mask if light bothers you. The shades were great for privacy, but the outside lighting made the room brighter than I like it.
We stayed at the wells hotel because we are getting married in Highlands and want to stay at a few hotels around to recommend to guest coming in for the wedding. The hotel is cute and remodeled nicely the location is good too but it was not clean. Our room had ants all over. The kieurig didnt work. There was black hairs of someone around the room and bathroom. The shower curtain has mold growing on the bottom of it and the mirror and sink had toothpaste splatter on it. We were going to tell the front desk but there was no one working. Probably wouldnt stay there again.
When we arrived, no one was working on the property and there was a sign on the door. It was Easter weekend, but this was a surprise that the hotel was not staffed on a Saturday afternoon. We stayed in Room #4 and I would agree with other reviews that you can hear EVERY sound around you and the the guests above us stayed up until about 1am. I found the beds extremely firm (which some may prefer), but this will prevent me from booking again. Finally, the shower and the sink do not drain. So, you are showering in about 2 inches of standing water and have to wait about 30 minutes for the next person to shower after it drains. The room was clean and decor was very cute. The location is great, the property is, for the most part, well maintained. The best part were the heated floors in the bathroom.…
Finding the hotel was easy, I stayed in room 7 which is on the first floor in-between two rooms and underneath another one. The room was clean , bed was comfortable and the shower was amazing but the issue I had was that I could hear everything, the walls and floors are very thin. Every time someone walked upstairs the floors creaked and I could hear every waking movement. I could hear what was playing on TV's, how many times people flushed their toilets and running showers constantly throughout my stay. I couldn't sleep one bit and it affected my entire business trip. Further, I attempted to complain to the front desk and here I am submitting a request online as asked. I got the room for three nights but only stayed two, because It was unbearable . I asked to be compensated for my last night and I was unprofessionally denied. I am very unhappy with the service and would hope that no other guest goes through what I went through. I will never be staying there again, nor will I recommend anyone to stay there for business trips.…
My husband and I were in Highlands for a wedding - we decided to stay at Wells Hotel and are so glad we did! It was such a cute spot walking distance to downtown. The room was very clean and had everything we needed - soaps, coffee mugs, wine opener, etc. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and attentive to everything we needed. Highly recommend staying here!
