We are so happy to have found this lovely hotel! As dog trainers who were not coming with dogs we weren't quite sure if we were going to have barking dogs waking us in the morning. We deal with that at home and wanted to get a good night sleep while on vacation. We are so glad we took a leap of faith! No barking dogs! There was only one time during the day that someone left a very unhappy dog alone apparently but they came back quickly and it was never an issue again. This place has huge rooms, black out drapes for sleeping, suites with comfy beds and outdoor balcony with French doors. They have a dog bed and dishes waiting for your dog if you bring one. Such a lovely place! We had to split our time with another more expensive location and wish we could have just stayed at the The Park On Main. It was more our speed!

Hotel's Favourite
We were quite impressed with everything about this hotel. We loved the comfort of the bed with the cotton quilt and quality linens, Turkish towels and cotton make up cloths and Keurig coffee maker. Everything was immaculately clean and well stocked. The location was perfect and quiet. The staff was very helpful and the lobby was clean and smelled so good. This is not just a pet friendly hotel but a Pet welcoming hotel. Great clean garage parking and the grounds very well kept. I can’t express our appreciation for the cleanliness enough. We are already planning our next trip back to stay in this hotel. Thank you Park on Main for your attention to the details.

I just stayed at the Park on Main Hotel for two nights. Of course I had my dog with me, as it advertises to be pet friendly. I can tell you it is the most pet friendly boutique hotel I’ve ever stayed at. When you walk in the door and look to your left, there’s a sweet beagle lying on a dog bed behind the room divider. As it turns out, this hotel not only fosters dogs, but in the last four years, they’ve placed 34 dogs! You can’t get more dog friendly than that. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are adorable and well-laid out with a couch and a little balcony. Every room comes with a dog bed, dog bowls, dog towel, squeaky toy, dog treats, everything your pampered pooch could ever ask for. As you can tell I highly recommend this hotel if you’re staying in the Highlands area. General Manager John Woods is an amazing guy, and he and his staff did everything they possibly could to make my stay enjoyable. Check it out.

I have not written a review in some time. Not because we have stopped traveling but because it became repetitive praising one location / hotel / restaurant after another. We have been very lucky in our travels to further destinations such as Bhutan, Nepal, Dubai, Chennai and many other places. However, I cannot believe that our worst experience in the last 5 years was at a so called luxury hotel in Highlands, North Carolina. I fully appreciate the restrictions placed on hotels since the advent of Covid-19 however I cannot believe the lengths The Park on Main have exploited the situation for profit. We recently stayed for 5 nights in a King suite with fireplace. During our stay; The room was never cleaned. The bathroom was never cleaned. The bed linen was never changed. The toiletries were never replenished. We had to complain about the heating before it was turned on (no explanation on its operation when we checked in). We had to empty the trash bins in the rooms into a large plastic bag which we had to leave outside the door at preset time. We had to place used towels in a similar bag to be left with the trash outside the door. We had to makeup the bed each day ourselves (remember no fresh bed linen. On contacting the Hotel John Woods informed me that I should have read the small print which was hidden away on their website. There was no mention of no housekeeping when we booked by phone. He also said there was a notice (which we did not find) which suggested that if we did need any of the services we should have asked! We have never ever stayed in a hotel where it was necessary to have the room cleaned, especially what is supposed to be a luxury hotel. I doubt this will prick the conscience of Mr Woods or the owners, after all their are plenty more tourists they can rip off!

We appreciate your feedback from your recent stay at The Park on Main. Currently, we are following CDC Guidance and not performing daily (stay-over) housekeeping service for the safety of our guests and staff. At check-in, all guests are notified that we will not be performing this service and told that if they need additional toiletries or cleaning in their room to notify the front desk. This is just one of the policy changes due to the COVID pandemic. This information is located on our website, in two (2) different locations in all guest suites and verbal notification from the front desk agent. We are sorry that you felt like you were being given excuses, but we take the seriousness of the current state of the pandemic very seriously and our guests have appreciated our concern for their well-being and are returning numerous times because they value the level of service and luxury that is offered at The Park on Main.

Disappointed in service - wrote a review Oct 2021

Hotel generally is very nice. Although beware when booking the King “Suute”. There is at least one room that they won’t tell you is without a balcony and has the tiniest bathroom..barely enough room to turn around. Also when I complained - the manager was less than sorry…I would had thought a more genuine reply that they’ll try to make sure all guests are indeed told…instead I got the he’ll make sure he listens to booking recording.

Thank you for your review, however, there is a discrepancy in your review. When you booked your room, you booked the only room that does not have a balcony – a King Room not the King Suite. The King Room is a standard hotel room with a shower/tub combination instead of the large walk-in shower and the spacious balcony found in the suites at The Park on Main. All the other accommodations at the hotel are suites and have wonderful balconies. We hope to see you again one day in one of our luxurious suites at The Park on Main.
