we decided to try different places on the island so did our first two days in fiscardo and our third and fourth at this hotel. I had seen reviews saying it was hilly but thats an understatement. We had hired a little micra and nearly burned the clutch out getting it up the hotel slope. Having said that the views are to die for and at one point as I puffed my way up the stairs on a full stomach I literally thought i might! I felt a little sad for the hotel I think there could only have been about 5 couples staying including us. A lot of the paintwork and other areas like the floor near the pool needs a freshen/clean up and i would imagine when full there would have been an open bar at the pool, you could phone for drinks though and a very lovely staff member did come and ask if we wanted anything . The area itself was beautiful, and the rooms were quiet and roomy. We met guests who went back year on year and I can see why, however I am not sure that we would go back and that is purely personal preference and no reflection on the lovely staff

Ok so this hotel built into the mountain has the best views of any hotel on Kefalonia. We went there at the start of September where the hotel had only 5 rooms out of 48 booked but I have to say was a nice change not fighting for sun beds. Having said that the staff such as Elsie and Marios and the last in reception were fantastic, welcoming, informative and just lovely. The rooms were well appointed and overlooked the bay so we had sun all day long in our room and at the pool. We did hire a car and I am glad we didn’t. There are three tavernas within 5 mins walk however you’ll keep fit by walking down as we counted 112 steps from our room to the road below which was fine however when you have a few drinks take your time going back. The village is quite near and it would take you 20 mins walk where you can sit at a bar overlooking the bay, have an ice cream or cakes and dinner. Great location great hotel and lovely people.

Now my review is a very difficult one as we are here during a very very quiet time as it’s still suffering with lack of visitors. The hotel is virtually empty which is fantastic for us but not for the hotel of course The staff are amazing and can’t do enough for you . Fabulous 25 metre oblong pool . A bit fresh some days but always ok to swim . Rooms are spacious and cleaned regularly and beds are very comfortable. We had to ask for a kettle as they had removed them all due to Covid . Beach towels are available everyday . Only thing to note is that it’s not at all suitable for disabled or guests with leg injuries or even people with organs as it’s so high up in the rocks it’s 112 steps to to pool . And about 90 to the restaurant. Would defo come back . Great choices at breakfast too

Two bedroom villa with private pool was prepared to accommodate 6, with more than enough space for all. Everything was spotless, with very good adjustments for Covid. Staff all did extra to make our stay as relaxing as possible. Because Covid travel regulations could change the hotel required NO advance deposit. As for the steep uphill walk, it is a good challenge but not too severe, even with previous lung resection.

We were very fortunate to be able to stay at this wonderful hotel with our 10 year old granddaughter at the end of August. We were very well looked after by the owners and their colleagues George and Marius. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts each morning in the glorious sunshine with stunning views. All COVID procedures were adhered to. Our granddaughter was very spoilt with practically her own swimming pool as the hotel was very quiet. She had a tremendous time. The steps are a challenge, but you cannot have the unrivalled views without a bit of a climb. We managed it! The room was spacious enough for the 3 of us and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking across at Sami. We walked down into town on an evening and there were plenty of restaurants to choose from making us very welcome. All in all a great holiday.
