Mirepoix is beautiful and Demeure de la Carmine is less than 5 minutes walk to the square. The room I booked was beautiful, comfortable and with a great shower & quality toiletries. The breakfast was bespoke to my requirements, plentiful, fresh and just lovely - strong coffee in abundance. I did not get a chance to use the pool & sauna - but they looked wonderful. I highly recommend a stay here - the hosts are really welcoming & go out of their way to make sure your every need is met. There is no parking available on site, but further up the road opposite a school, is free & plentiful & a less than 100m away.

What a piece of good fortune to have chosen La Demeure de la Carmine as our resting place for our visit to Mirepoix. We were warmly welcomed by Chantelle, shown the splendid facilities of this perfectly furnished and decorated establishment, then, with obvious and justified pride, our room - Le Chateau. It is a large room running the full depth of this beautiful building. At one end there is a large sitting space with comfortable seating, television and its own log burner There is a large desk for anyone on business and WiFi is speedy.

The "sleeping end" of the room has a large, very comfortable, double bed with beautiful bed linen; the wardrobe and cupboards provide ample room for clothing. The bath, walk-in large shower and double sinks are of the highest standard with well positioned mirrors, lighting and plugs. Toiletries are also well chosen. There is a small, separate loo.

Breakfast was served by Chantelle in the spacious public space on the ground floor. We had asked for orange juice, croissants, pains aux chocs, bread with confitures, tea and coffee....which is exactly what we were served.

Chantelle was charming and helpful throughout our stay - recommending and booking a restaurant as well as helping us to carry luggage to the car on our departure. We would not hesitate to commend this lovely place to friends and intend a return visit when we are in the area next year.

Just one word of warning - the Mairie has just introduced a new One Way system into this small town and 2, Chemin de la mestrise needs to be approached from Cours du Marechal de Mirepoix.

We booked for two nights and liked the place so much we stayed a third.

The house itself is very close to the centre of Mirepoix (a few minutes walk) and sits quietly behind a high wall and private courtyard. It is old and charming; the rooms are done to a high specification in a French country style. There's a kitchen and living area downstairs, where breakfast is served and where you're free to make your own drinks. Our bathroom was well designed and the products provided were good quality and plentiful. Some of the rooms have a bath in them - a recent trend not much to my liking - but ours was separated by a curtain (the lavatory has a door). The only thing that didn't shine were the pillows, which were somewhat hard, but that's probably a personal thing and a mere bagatelle.

The house itself was lovely but the shining star was Chantal, who runs it. She exudes warmth, good humour and general delightfulness. We were, for instance, due to arrive at 10pm, itself a late enough time. Flight delays, queues at the car hire counter etc conspired to make us even later and when we finally limped up to the house at 11.30pm it was dark and shut up. Long story short, Chantal arrived five minutes after our phone call, during which time images of grumpy, unwelcoming Madames had formed in our minds, but she couldn't have been more charming. She had lit a fire for us in our room, it was warm and inviting. Our relief was huge. And it continued thus - she recommended and booked a restaurant for us, was around and chatty but never intrusive. A completely delightful presence.

We almost stayed for a fourth and final night but felt we should be more adventurous and so ventured forth to what was supposed to be a chateau, but turned out to be a converted garage attached to a house that was itself surrounded by bungalows, and with a house style that was all about portion control. All this only served to highlight the charms of Chantal and Demeure de la Carmine.

We booked the accommodation for a weekend, having missed a flight we contacted the hotel to advise we would be late booking in. we were given instructions on how to obtain key and that the lights would be left on for us. In the morning we woke too late for breakfast but found it had been left out for us. The room was clean and spacious with everything you needed. Only four rooms for the hotel which had a warm homely feel. and really quiet The lady that looked after the hotel could only speak French but she tried hard to communicate. would defiantly go back again

This gorgeous B & B is hidden down a side street in the lovely old medieval town of Mirepoix. The whole house has been restored to a very high standard with exquisite taste. Our room had a lounge area with wood burning stove, a high quality bath and shower and a very comfortable bed with matching handmade duvet and quilt and quality sheets. All the decor was classic vintage French in style and the whole effect was stunning. The theme continued throughout the house with great attention to detail, from the hand made wooden 'shabby chic' kitchen ( where we could help ourselves to tea and coffee ) to the beautiful floor tiles that coordinated with the rest of the decor. The added bonus was the hamman steam room and small outdoor pool in the rear courtyard. The breakfast was first class and Chantal, was welcoming and helpful. Having stayed in 3 fairly average hotels in this town before I would say this is far superior to them all and I would recommend it to anybody.

We enjoyed our all too short stay at Demeure de la Carmine. The room was exquisite, staff attentive and breakfast was lovely. It was so quiet even though it is, literally, only just around the corner to the main square.

Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to have a swim in the pool which looked very inviting.

We parked only a few metres along the road.

We would love to have stayed longer and would thoroughly recommend it.

We have just returned from a very restful break at this small hotel. The room was beautiful and the attention to detail in everything in the hotel was fantastic. Chantal prepared us a lovely breakfast each day to our requirements and while we ate our room was serviced so that we were never disturbed at any time. A very quite location but moments from the main square. We will definitely return.

We have enjoyed 6 nights in this beautiful, stunning house. Our group of 8 had the whole house to ourselves which was an added bonus. A great holiday base. The rooms were gorgeous and well maintained. Chantelle looked after us very well. Beautiful breakfasts to boot. Highly recommend and hope to return.

Stunning place, rooms are to die for - attention to detail is impressive.
Chantal welcomed us early, the entire house was at our disposal.
Beautiful linen, toiletries, towels, candles etc..
Each room has a different decor - ours was grey/lilac - romantic, soft & French!
Chantal was charming, accommodating, patient with my French. Amazing house keeper.
She did everything in the house and her standards are very high!

My wife and I stayed at the Demeure de la Carmine for 2 nights while we were attending a wedding in the area. We could not have been more delighted with this hotel. It is small in size, but the rooms huge by French standards and very charming in a rustic way. The hotel has been beautifully created from an historic building and all the old features have been retained. We received a very warm welcome by the proprietor and she was very helpful. Breakfast was typical country French and beautifully presented. We have no hesitation in recommending this delightful and exceptionally good value residence.
