we always stay at Hiliki when we go to Zanzibar, it's good value, comfortable, good location and very nice staff. Delicious breakfast and the team can organise fair price excursions. Definitely recommend if you're passing a few days in stone Town.

NO CLEAR AND HONEST INFO ON THEIR BOOKING HOTEL SITE. We booked a double bed and we were given a pair of single beds. Then we were asked to pay an extra 3% fee to pay by credit card (was not mentioned on site). They informed us, the wifi was not available in the bedrooms, only in public areas. We tried to politely negotiate as we were mis-sold and after an hour long conversation, the owner said there was no longer room available... When we have already put card details in booking.com to reserve the booking, and the confirmation was done. I DO NOT RECCOMEND TO ANYONE. DISRESPECTFUL, DISHONEST. SCAM.

The guys were amazing. They helped us a lot, were so kind, funny and so helpful! We had good breakfast and everything else we needed for the whole stay in Zanzibar. All the crew were so friendly, we could not imagine better options to have, Khalfan is the man who helpes anything you need. Even the price was cheaper than other companies. I can advise them to anyone who is thinking about going to Zanzibar. And Khalfan helped me a lot even we did not have any business together, so if you want just to get some information about what and how to do in Zanzibar Hiliki and Khalfan is still perfect to ask. Asanté sana for the awesome experience. <3 The location is perfect. The rooms are always clean and you can absolutely feel like home. And it's so cheap. Everyone should be connected to Hiliki who is in Stonetown.

I,ve been in Zanzibar 7 months now. The first 2.5 months stayed at Hiliki House. The rooms are spacious, very clean, wifi excellent as is the breakfasts. Khalfan, the manager is a great chap and always willing to help with just about anything you may need. Willeven escort you to the nearby local market. Very caring chap. I count Hiliki House as my second home. when in Stone town always stay there. The great thing is it is minutes walking to restaurants or the bar scene and minutes away from the center of town and the local markets.

Great place to stay - the rooms are clean and cool. The AC works, there is WiFi in the upstairs lounge. Bathrooms are outside the room but are private for each room and it’s not a problem. This is a great, budget place to stay and you should give the owners a call to get a better price - let’s face it no one likes paying booking fees. Friendly staff and an OK communal breakfast which gives a good opportunity to meet a few new people.

Don’t stay here! Showed up to find they were fully booked despite booking months in advance. Had to spend my first night elsewhere. When I checked out I was overcharged and told ‘they would refuse to let me leave’ if I didn’t pay.

This accommodation corresponded to the price range. Excellent location near everything we wanted to see. However, there were couple of issues. We booked on booking.com two double rooms. When we came, we got one single and one triple. The manager did not even know the price and I had to show it to him in the booking app. Half of the price should have been charged to the credit card and the rest paid in cash. Nothing was charged on the card and the full price was paid in cash in USD. I did not have the exact amount (55) so I gave 60. It took three requests for the change which did not come in USD but in schillings. So all in all we did not have the rooms we booked and the money matters were not handled correctly which is just bad form. Another thing - when I wrote a review on booking, 15 minutes after it was posted, I got an email saying that we the reservations was cancelled! They wanted to avoid the review despite the fact that we stayed there. Also, it is a system how to avoid paying commission to booking. If you want to stay there and book on booking, choose the option pay now, if possible, to avoid any hassle.

This place was the best. You are in the middle of everything. 2 minute walk to stone street, quiet street, few minutes walking distance to ocean. The manager there is so welcoming, always with a big smile on his face willing to help with anything. Rooms are not expensive, and a deliciously huge breakfast is Included!!
