We really loved it here. Before we went to Arusha from Zanzibar for our safari, we slept here one night and when we came back we slept here again since it's close to the airport. We were very happy that we came back at the same people after our safari, because it really felt like coming home after 4 days of basic camping. There were 3 baby cats that came chilling in our lap while we were sitting outside our room and the women that worked here were really interested in us and had heartwarming things to say; they loved the fact that we were speaking some words swahili and that we actually came to hang out a little bit and hoped we'd come back. Also, the coffee they gave us here was way better than all the other coffee we had been drinking in Zanzibar so far and the driver was reachable at all times if we wanted to be picked up from chaotic Stonetown (where you don't just want to pick a cab from the street since they can be unreliable). We walked to the beach within 20 minutes where we had great cocktails and a lovely last sunset at 'Sea View Hotel'.

I was visiting my friends in a nearby village and needed a place to stay for one night. The owner was super kind and picked me up from the village late in the evening. The rooms are simple but very clean. The common area of the hostel is full of beautiful green plants and lovely cats that are well taken care of and friendly. All the staff is very kind and helpful and the owner is absolutely wonderful. He speaks great English and clearly enjoys having a conversation with guests. The atmosphere of the place is very welcoming and it feels like home from the first moment when you step in. I highly recommend the place!

Very charismatic owner told me that everything is possible at Amira’s – breakfast in the middle of the night, very early airport transfer and someone will get you a beer if needed 😊 Hotel is located very close to the airport so it is perfect when you have an early morning flight. We spent only one night there but we met people who have stayed there for a couple of days and they were satisfied. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The only thing is that the bed could be more comfortable but it was ok.

Amira`s Rooms is run by the wonderful Salim. He will pick you up at the airport free of charge and give you all the knowledge you need to know about the area. The Guest House is situated 4 miles from Stone Town but is easily reached on the local 505 Bus for 10p! The rooms are shabby chic, all a different colour, clean & spacious. The breakfast is very good & the staff will create a tasty lunch or dinner at a very reasonable price. This place is a perfect introduction to Zanzibar.

Relaxing stay in the suburbs with comfortable beds, hot showers and nice outdoor restaurant area. Don't expect luxury or fine dining for this price and you wont be disappointed! The owner even gave us a lift to our next destination after breakfast for free.

I am late on writing my review. I stayed here back in February for 1 night upon arrival into Stone Town. That was a very special and warm welcome onto Zanzibar from Salim. He literally helped us with everything and anything we need and answered all our questions. For a night or longer in stone town at this price point, this is the best friendliest option. We took a short bus for about .10 cents usd into town. Just remember the point where you got on so you can get home again or take Salim's number. I loved the outdoor tree fort like dining area. It felt like a bit of a jungle in the city. We found Zanzibar to be extremely friendly and helpful with questions and will definitely come back. Thanks again Salim for being so kind and welcoming. Karibu sana Canada Salim! Sorry for my late review.

We booked for two nights, but we stayed four. The rooms are simple and that was all we needed. But we we got more: Selim, the host, and his brother Jamal were the best guys to meet we could wish for when visiting a foreign country. The atmosphere is very family and they gave us great advices, gave us company at markets (which saved us a lot of money) and provided us with trustworthy drivers. I forget most hotels and B&Bs I stay in, because I never come for the hotel but the city. But this one I will definitely remember and I hope to come back to Sansibar again to stay there and meet the hosts again.

I was there in the rainy season so the weather was not that hot. The staff and owner are very nice people. The location is close to the airport so a bit far from the city centre. However, there is a car rental in the neighbourhood so I rented a car from there. They have nice little cats as well. I really enjoyed my time there. The mosquito net around the bed was a good thing. For this price the hotel was what I expected.

I loved this place. It was a perfect start for a vacation around Zanzibar and Mafia Island. Perfect to adapt to the climate and atmosphere. Salim, the manager and al his staff are friendly and care how you experience your stay and how they can improve it and help you out with getting from your stay or vacation what you want. Food is excellent. Atmosphere is like you are staying over at a friends. I felt very welcome here and very well taken care of. Stone Town is a 30 min. busride away, shops for beer, softdrinks and food 10 minutes by foor and beach about a 30 min walk. This is the kind of neighbourhood where everybody knows everybody so quite safe to walk around at any time of day. Do yourself a favour. After getting here by airplane, stay here for at least two nights/one full day and talk to Salim and get to know what people are like here: friendly, warm and always in for a joke.
