For me, the most beautiful resort in the area and Le Morne is the best part of Mauritius anyway. The resort between the turquoise blue Indian Ocean and the beautiful Le Morne mountains, white fine sand, gorgeous palm trees and a very pleasant water temperature. The beaches are very protected by the offshore reefs around Mauritius, no sharks, hardly any waves. You should definitely go snorkeling here too and you keep coming across beautiful creatures like Nemo 😂. We didn't go to diving stations or snorkeling. It was enough here at Lux Beach. Of course it's not a Great Reef Barrier but that's not why I came to Mauritius. Hotel available from several restaurants. We had half board breakfast and dinner. Included. There are the buffet restaurant and beach restaurant. Be careful, the lady who welcomed us forgot to mention that on Thursdays there is a lobster dinner in the beach restaurant and this is not included. You get a discount but the prices are still high. Otherwise you can get everything you need in the main restaurant for both dinner (7-10:30 p.m.) and breakfast (7-10:30 a.m.) Alcohol, as on such exotic islands, is always expensive. Beer is between €8-12, wine is around €80 a bottle. But you are in Mauritius and not Mallorca. Wines from Mauritius should be avoided, not particularly good, and wines imported to South Africa are not the best from South Africa either. Actually only a 4-hour flight away and they could import all the brands more cheaply than France. Well, geopolitically, France is closer to Mauritius than South Africa😳 Rooms are very nicely furnished, average size, architecturally fitting in with the landscape, unobtrusively beautiful. Rooms are cleaned twice a day, super nice ladies, unobtrusive and always inviting and hospitable. The staff are super nice, helpful and always go the extra mile, especially Siven in the main restaurant was excellent, a really outstanding employee who takes excellent care of his customers and also gives lots of tips about the country. Also worthy of mention is Souhaina from reception, who solved a problem of miscommunication quickly and professionally. Near the hotel you can organize boat trips, go paddling and much more. Gym was OK, not much equipment and unfortunately the water dispenser was always empty. Overall an excellent experience in Lux Resorts and highly recommended.

My spouse and I visited Lux Le Morne for 6 days of relaxation, good food, and hopefully some nice pampering! Our hopes were exceeded on all levels:
Food: The resort has multiple dining sites, but The Kitchen buffet served our needs for nearly all our meals. The food was fresh, tasty, and varied by the day, with different themes nightly. Most everyone still dressed up, and you get beverage service at all the tables (you couldn't beat the views).
Rooms: All rooms have been recently renovated and were quiet, luxurious, squeaky clean, and comfortable. Staff came to turn the room over multiple times daily, and the front desk assured our needs had all been met. (Highly recommend the outdoor shower)
Resort/amenities: The scenery of the resort at the base of Le Morne is truly stunning. A huge perk was that the palm trees hid much of the resort, giving it an intimate feel. Those same trees go right up to the water, a plus side not found at many other resorts. The plentiful palapas among the trees each had a buzzer for waiter to bring food/beverage, which was amazing. The pools were clean and natural looking, and you had the option to enjoy the spa/sauna if that suits you. The resort app was easy to use and laid out all daily activities, menus, and concierge service/chatting. We'd highly recommend the spa - so many treatments to choose from. and it was quite luxurious.
The cherry on top, which will bring us back someday, was the staff. Overall, they were incredibly friendly, attentive, and customer service focused. As honeymooners, they surprised with so many surprises during our stay that made the trip extra special. Management, including the resort manager, were very visible, and often check to ensure our stay was satisfactory.
Special thanks to: -Vyshee: Guest relations officer who took the time to get to know us when she didn't have to. This seeded the ground for service that seemed like friendship, whereby she often checked in with us around the resort for several minutes at a time. She went behind the scenes to arrange so many special surprises, including a flowered beach spot over champagne to enjoy the sunset.
-Bianca: Celebration Corner representative who arrange a full week of honeymoon events including: a candlelit dinner at the Beach, poolside breakfast, cocktail class, and even upgraded our room. She took us under her wing, and would send us messages over the day to ensure our stay was up to standard.
-Shahil: Our favorite beach attendant/waiter. At such a young age, Shahil demonstrated a work ethic and hustle that is seldom seen. He was engaging, funny, and shared about his life in a way that made you feel like friends. We'll truly miss him.
You won't be disappointed with a stay at Lux Le Morne!

Our honeymoon in Lux le Morne was a great experience. It was the first time for the two of us staying in a 5 star hotel and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent, we were always greeted with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. As it was our honeymoon we got a free room upgrade and our room was done specially with flower petal decorations. We got a few freebies thrown in best of which was a large discount on two spa treatments which we thoroughly enjoyed!
Our room was spacious with a sea view through the trees we could see from our bed and balcony. A large bath big enough for two to soak and high quality toiletries. The room was stylish in a minimalist style which suited us. We could walk down steps to the front of the apartment and we were only steps away from the beach and a swimming pool to one side. We loved the fact that all the accommodation was in a series of two storey small buildings with only 4 rooms at most in each. It felt smaller scale and blended into the landscape better than a lot of large hotel complexes.
The food and drink was of a high quality and there was always a lot of choice at the daily breakfast and dinner buffets. My wife and I are both vegan and I have a nut allergy. The chefs and front of house staff were always happy to show us what we could eat from the buffet. They went above and beyond to cook us special dishes for the two of us if there was not enough things we liked on the buffet. We had a delicious tofu and pak Choi dish cooked for us. Also a vegan chocolate cake. When I went to the pancake station and asked for vegan pancakes they asked how many! Particular mention to Ashvin the pastry chef and Hurvind in the restaurant. Would also highly recommend the East restaurant where we ate about 4 times. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was quiet and dark and romantic perfect for a honeymoon. The only negative I would say is that the breakfast coffee service was often slow and badly organised - could take 30mins sometimes to get this brought to our table, and we sometimes got asked twice for our order and ended up with two lots delivered together.
The beach was perfect, you could snorkel out from it. Although much better views seen in the daily snorkelling or glass bottomed boat trips free for hotel guests. You can order drinks and a limited menu from your beach loungers which was a nice touch we made use of! We had a couple of days of rain but mostly dry with temperatures up to 25 degrees in June/July.
Overall a wonderful stay and we both hope to visit again some day.

We have just returned from two weeks at the Lux Le Morne, and without a doubt, this is the best resort-style, 5-star hotel we have stayed in.
Firstly, the location is beautiful, utterly peaceful and quiet, set on a gorgeous long strip of sandy beach with crystal-clear water to swim in. There are other hotels nearby, but the emphasis of the area is low-key. Being west-facing, the sunsets are spectacular each night.
We stayed in an Ocean Junior Suite on the ground floor, featuring a spacious terrace with views of the sea. The suite was lovely, with plenty of space and a great dressing area. The bathroom included a large walk-in shower. The suite is decorated in cool whites, which suits the location perfectly, with plenty of colourful accents through the large picture window. The king-size bed was particularly comfortable—hotel beds are so often not.
The gym is well-equipped with good-quality air conditioning. All the public areas of the hotel are beautifully furnished, decorated, and comfortable.
Of particular mention is the outstanding and very impressive quality of the food. The main restaurant, 'The Kitchen,' is buffet style and is the best we have ever seen! There was an incredible range of options, with each night featuring a different theme, such as 'Asian,' so we never got bored with the choices. Every night also offered a selection of Mauritian food, which was also delicious.
We very much enjoyed eating on the beach, with a good selection of salads and burgers. The service was amazing; so often, beach and pool service can be lacking, but we were always attended to within moments of asking. The hotel utilizes an alert system by pressing a button on your sunshade, and the waiter or waitress was always there in moments.
We also dined at the Beach Restaurant on several occasions for lunch and dinner. The choice and quality were excellent. Of particular mention is the Lobster and Seafood night. The lobster was fantastic. On another occasion, I had steak, which was quite possibly the best steak I have ever eaten.
Lastly we dined at the Japanese restaurant, where we were treated to a tasting menu with absolutely delicious and beautifully presented dishes. Outstanding.
I should also mention the service at the hotel, which was excellent—attentive, warm, and friendly without being too intrusive or overbearing. It feels like the hotel is run with great passion and commitment- this runs through everything they do.
Overall, a truly wonderful experience. We will be returning!

We feel very fortunate to have visited this beautiful hotel twice, once in 2014 and our visit last month, October 2024 - celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and my birthday.
From the moment we arrived we were made so incredibly welcome, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.
We had booked a Prestige Junior Suite which had a beachfront location, own terrace with double sun lounger, sofa and table. It was stunning!
The room itself was really cosy, we had a lovely large bathroom with huge bath, twin sinks, indoor shower, dressing area and lobby and we particularly loved the outdoor shower which we used every morning. Room was well equipped, lovely amenities, umbrella, gowns, slippers, stocked mini bar, snacks, a lovely beach bag and hat!
We never had any issues getting sunbeds on the beach and were sometimes the first people on the beach at 9am after we had been to the gym. We loved the large cushions on the beach, the fluffy towels, drinks station (water) and comfortable sunbeds. Big shout out to the fabulous beach guys, nothing was ever too much trouble and they came to say hi daily and take our drinks orders. On my birthday they gave me a coconut with flowers and a straw and had written a happy birthday message on the side of the coconut which was such a kind gesture and appreciated.
Food in the restaurants was excellent, we loved East (Thai) and went 3 times during our visit. Beach was excellent as was the buffet. Loved the breakfasts.
We were fortunate to do the Gazebo dinner for my birthday. This was, without doubt, a real pinch me moment and absolutely amazing!
We did a trip out one day and booked one of the hotel’s cabs. Whilst we had a good few hours we didn't so much rate our driver, we felt he was a bit huffy and was getting a touch impatient so we cut the day short and went back to the hotel. What we did see however we thoroughly enjoyed.
We flew from the UK BHX to DXB to Mauritius with Emirates, cant fault the flights at all. As our flight left BHX late we were literally running to our next gate and had 50mins before our connection down to Mauritius. How on earth Emirates managed to transfer luggage in that short space of time is beyond me, so well done Emirates.
We would without doubt return to Lux le Morne tomorrow if we could. It is, in our opinion, honestly one of the most beautiful hotels we have visited in the most peaceful of settings. Whilst it may be a little quiet for some people, we embraced this, a pause from our busy daily lives. It ticked pretty much every single box for us on our list of holiday must haves.
Highly recommended.

If you are looking for a hotel where every detail counts, then Lux Le Morne is just the thing for you. Let's start with the room: cleanliness is a top priority here. The room is cleaned twice a day and the staff is so accommodating that they provide adapters and coat hangers on request. The evening is enhanced by lit tea lights on the terrace and good-smelling shampoo in the bathroom. Thanks to Vimi.
Lux Le Morne is a paradise for gourmets. We tried "The Beach" and "The Kitchen" and were thoroughly impressed. The buffet offers a wide selection of high-quality dishes, including open cooking and fresh fish and meat dishes every day. Particularly noteworthy is the staff's willingness to accommodate individual food requests and to fulfill our daughter's special wishes as a matter of course. The service is always friendly and very accommodating in all areas. Thanks to Alonzo and many other LUX* employees.
The pool and beach area are another highlight. The pool is always the perfect temperature and the outdoor facilities are very well maintained. Despite being fully booked, the hotel never felt overcrowded and fresh towels were always available. The complex is manageable and very idyllic, and here too, towels are distributed on the loungers in advance and set up everywhere within easy reach next to the classic pool bars, bar stands with various types of water and coconuts.
Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the 24-hour gym, including the option for personal attention and fresh towels and drinks.
The reception staff are also very accommodating. It is advisable to book a taxi or private driver directly through the hotel for excursions. The sports activities at the beach boathouse are also very well organized, not overcrowded and readily available at all times.
Overall, I can only warmly recommend Lux Le Morne - regardless of whether you are traveling as a family with children or as a couple. It offers an all-round carefree package of comfort, quality and individual service that makes the vacation an unforgettable experience and offers pure relaxation.

We have just spent 9 nights at Lux Le Morne and had an amazing time we won’t forget. The resort is stunning and ultimately what makes this hotel is the location and its staff. We were greeted on arrival and taken to our room where everything was explained to us. I don’t want to name particular staff as everyone was great in their own right, the staff can’t do enough for you and it’s clear they work very hard. You can’t walk past someone without them greeting with you a smile and a hello. Housekeeping was good and the room was cleaned to a good standard everyday with snacks/ drinks being replaced twice a day and the offer of an evening service. What surprised me about the resort was how unpretentious it was for a five star resort. It had a very chilled vibe with a mix of people, some that dressed for dinner and some more casual, you wouldn’t have felt out of place either way which was nice. Although I believe the hotel was booked out it really did not feel busy….there were always sun beds available and it did not feel in any way crowded on the beach or round the pool, and there was always a seat available in the bar. Our favourite meal was dinner at The Beach restaurant, it just so happened that a live singer was on that evening, the food and service was great, with the music it was such a nice atmosphere. The food at the main restaurant was a good standard and different theme every night, with the live cooking station and the desserts the highlight. The highlights of our trip was the dolphin and whale trip organised by Matteo and done by Stephen and his brother, where I swam with them up close and snorkelled with fish in the coral afterwards. Great experience. And dinner in the treehouse served by Neelesh, although a little pricey it was lovely to be able to have dinner in such a private and beautiful location. Watching the fox bats right above you in the trees was fascinating (and a little nervy!)
Tips- Ask the concierge which nights are on at the buffet, if it’s something you don’t like/ fancy, book at The Beach or East that evening. The food is good at East and if you fancy something a bit different it is worth paying the extra money (we paid around 2,300 MUR extra on all inclusive for 2).
The sunsets are stunning, my favourite thing to do was grab a beer from the mini bar and a beanbag on the beach. Most people had gone from the beach at this time and it wasn’t busy. I think I could watch it every night and never get bored!
All in all the best holiday we could have asked for, and we are already planning to return one day.

Magnificent location. Swimming in the lagoon while enjoying the golden sand, coconut trees and the view of the majestic hillside in the background is magical! Dinarobin beach is not so lucky because a tongue of dead coral considerably hinders entry into the water. Beautiful beach at Paradise Beach Comber and at Mariott next door but in my opinion the Lux part is really crazy! The hotel is not always very cool but the rooms are clean, the bedding comfortable, almost all have a sea view and they are located in small one-story buildings with 4 rooms widely spaced on the estate which makes the atmosphere calm. Helpful, smiling staff who will do their best to make your stay pleasant. The manager was very efficient when it came to resolving a problem with the room. Quality catering at the kitchen restaurant in the morning and evening (themed): varied choice, fresh and tasty! The beach restaurant is also included in the half board and à la carte. Very comfortable deckchairs and flavored water are available on the beach but otherwise everything extra costs money in this hotel.
in total: very expensive but to be on this beach in a very beautiful, fairly quiet complex you obviously have to pay the price!

The hotel is highly recommended in every respect. The complex is very appealing; not too large, quiet, very well maintained and the food left no wishes unfulfilled. Plastic was also largely dispensed with, a special concern for the hotel management. What was particularly positive to us were the many moments of special attention from the dedicated, responsible and exceptionally friendly and warm-hearted staff. Each of them was in his own personal way striving to make the stay as beautiful and pleasant as possible. Our special thanks go to Rajendree (Housekeeping), Poul (restaurant service, The Kitchen), Justine (Guest Relations Officer) and Jason (Management).

Idyllic location and wonderful people. We stayed at Lux Le Morne for 2 weeks on our honeymoon in October. We were recommended here by Kuoni as the best part of the island and a 5* + location over other adult only hotels. We were assured this would be a quiet time for children which was bad advice by Kuoni. Lots of loud/boisterous kids being loud boisterous kids and is what we wanted to avoid- parents and Nannie’s let some run feral. Saying this, the location was perfect and our sun set suite was very comfortable. We managed to avoid the areas where the younger families congregated to get some wanted P&Q. Sadly, this meant we did not use the pools. Please can I ask the management to try and enforce their own rules around pool use with young children who are present without an adult- this might curtail some of the unsociable behaviour we witnessed. I know this is a thorny subject but these are your rules!
The mini bar and extras included was a nice touch but when you are all inclusive you tend not to go without. The staff, in the main, were wonderful, caring and really made an effort to make us feel special. We would like to specifically mention Paul, Audrey, Sabrina (still owes me a dance) Alonzo, the fabulous bar staff, Bianca (honeymoon coordinator who was simply lovely) Brigette, Audrey, Joshna and Hans (sorry I sunk the laser but not my fault and my wife hasn’t forgiven you! ) There are so many others who went above and beyond to make our stay simply perfect.
The only negative worthy of any mention is the service did let them down on occasions and not what you would expect in any hotel of this quality. Others have mentioned this in reviews as being slow and inconsistent in terms of quality and attentiveness. Not by all as per my earlier comments but to an extent that it did spoil some meals and was an avoidable frustration. My wife mentioned this to reception and the GM who happened to be passing. Not clearing plates, slow drinks service and no cutlery to mention a few niggles. The reception of these concerns was very good and a complimentary meal at East was provided. We met the chef and were treated with a taste of all this restaurant had to offer- a sublime dining experience. We were treated like VIP’s which we thank the manager for arranging. Sadly, when we returned to the same restaurant as mere paying mortals, the service was shockingly poor. Consistency is the issue here and I would encourage the GM to blend his experience staff with the inexperienced to make sure this doesn’t impact your guests. Another “treat” at the Beach Kitchen on final night was a fabulous end to our honeymoon and the use of our room up until departure although we did feel a little conscious of the attention we had given to us for making what were very innocuous observations. Would I recommend this location- absolutely. The people of Mauritius are simply wonderful. Please make time to visit the Le Morne UNESCO monument which is a short walk from reception and at the foot of the mountain. We European countries have much to be proud of but also much we should be ashamed of- this monument is to remember those forced to take their own lives as a result of being enslaved and oppressed. My thanks to Lux Le Morne for a memorable stay.
