Just spent a week at Cinderella Beach and were very impressed with this small but friendly hotel. The rooms were basic but clean and a good size with two good sized beds and a sitting area which could convert in to a third bed. All the rooms had a small terrace with partial sea views and two chairs and a small table. The pool was a decent size and the area around the pool well furnished with loungers or tables and chairs and plenty of sunshades and never became crowded, in fact a few times we had the pool to ourselves as most people seemed to spend their time on the beach. The beach area had plenty of shelters and loungers and the snorkelling was very good. The hotel, very popular with Italians, offered a good selection of food and drinks, which were served buffet style, but there never seemed to be queues. It was an all-inclusive option, and local beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and bottled water were freely available. Our only criticism was the Animation team which was pretty pathetic, sometimes intrusive and of course all in Italian. The Egyptian themed evening was enjoyable and the whirling dervish amazing.

Took my mum here for some "winter sun". The weather in Feb isn't exactly scorching but the Red Sea was warm enough for me to snorkel in (and the snorkelling was amazing!) - although be warned that the nights kick in around 5pm and are pretty chilly. Whilst some Brits come here, it's largely Italians, Germans and Russians who the hotel caters for. Learning a few words of basic Arabic (hello, thank you) is welcomed.

Location:- about half an hour from Marsa Alam airport, we prebooked a transfer with an online company. It is very isolated, with another big complex nearby (which you can apparently use if you go in by the front door, but not approaching from the beach), but not much else. You can get a taxi into Quseir for some change, and there's a number of excursions (including v long trips to Luxor and Cairo). The hotel is right on the beach which is lovely, but you will want waterproof sandals for going in the sea as underfoot it's a bit gritty and sharp.

Facilities:- 2 pools, one large, neither heated (essential in winter when they don't get warm enough to swim in). Out of season there was very little to do in the evenings - only 1 English language TV channel, table tennis, table football, board games. One evening there was entertainment (a show) and it was ok. Take a lot of books and a personal stereo! Kids would probably get very bored after dark.

Rooms:- very large and clean, with an imaginative approach by the room cleaner to towel origami! Concrete bases to beds with big mattress on top. Shower stall, no bath - but lovely strong hot shower, if a little difficult to adjust temperature. Good little patio area outside with a glimpse of the sea.

Food and drink:- generally ok, different stuff for every meal. Self-service buffet with choice of meat, fish and vegetarian. Generally continental-style of sauces with rice, cous-cous, pasta. Lots of salad and cakes. Breakfast was fab. Also at around 4 afternoon tea was served by the pool which was a nice touch.

On all-inclusives, check what is included! Beer and wine tends to be served in small glasses thereby making you go back often for refills. It's all ok to drink, the beer is refreshing.

Overall, its fine if you want a very cheap get away where you literally get away from it all and don't have to do anything. But if you get bored easily, it's probably not for you, and older kids may struggle after dark, especially out of season.

we went to cinderella last week and had an amazing time the staff are so lovely and, cant do enough for you, i feel the hotel wasnt 100% but the people and the service and beach well and truely made up for it, 100 times over. you have good air con in the room which is needed due to it being so hot, the cleaner who does your room daily makes cool things out of towels for you which is a nice touch, lovely beach especially for snorkling and swimming with beautiful fish, and also the staff are more than happy to help you arrange a quad trek in the desert. it is definately the place if you want to relax with peace and tranquilty, this was my first time at this hotel but my dad and his partner go every year twice a year to the same hotel thanks to the warm welcome and the service, as no where advertises it in england its not mega busy which is nice as you dont have to fight for a sunlounger or que for ages for food, i am already planning to go back next year, with my children as i know they will love it too. what a beautifull place, cheap too. if you want to book you need to go direct to the hotel number found on the website, and book that way, thompson fly to marsa alam on a wednesday and pick up the following wednesday.

You get what you pay for and this place is a bargain if you want a basic relaxing break in the sun.

Private, well looked after beach with Great Snorkelling - but also book a trip to 'Sharm el Lole' beach for an even better reef experience.

Food is essentially mediterranean (to please the majority of european guests) - tasty enough and PLENTY of it. If you befriend the chefs (easily done) they will prepare special dishes for you, fish, spicy dishes and chips etc.

Rooms are basic, but very clean and looked after daily by friendly, accommodating staff. Most are twin beds, if you want a double you may need to say so at check in.

Drinks are freely available all day and into the evening - local beer, wine, spirits, fizzy drinks and sealed bottles of water. Small glasses, but you can top up as often as you like.

Entertainment is minimal - take a stack of books/ magazines and your i-pod - prepare to just chill and let time pass you by. TV in room has an English movie chanel and CNN, the staff have a rather naive approach to evening entertainment - you have to see it on at least one evening to believe it!

Don't bother to venture into town - it's not quite ready for tourists and they are not particularly well received. The hotel has a handful of shops for things you might need during your stay and a few souvenirs - the people here are more used to visitors and treat you well.

booking tours/trips is easy with tour guides that visit the hotel daily. Luxor and Cairo are possible (about £50) but a very long way away! Quad biking, horse/ camel riding, diving etc are more obvious choices (range of activities from about £15-£50).

Tipping is not essential, but as the place is such a bargain if you get good service (and i'm sre you will - we did) you can afford to show your appreciation. However, the staff cannot cash in foreign coins or small change at their local banks, so it is better to save tipping to the end of the week and pay them either Euros or EGPounds. Also because not everyone realises this you may get staff asking you to exchange notes for the coins that they have collected during the season. It can be annoying so just make it clear from the start that you do not carry any money, as it is 'all inclusive'. if you decide to help them out, be careful with the exchange rates they offer!

Some people stay here for 2 weeks quite happily - but i think it's really more of a quick one week Sun Break. We spent our week laying on the beach or by the pool, snorkelling every day, eating and drinking food prepared by someone else, quad biking, camel riding, reading and generally chilling without work or worries. We loved it and have returned relaxed, tanned and happy-smiley! :-)

If you have money for a holiday in this time of global credit crunch, do yourself a favour and don;t waste it at this hole in the ground.

The staff are the rudest people on Earth towards anyone with an English accent, with no respect for women, and the food is turgid. The facilities are run down and rancid and they watered the gardens with water from the cesspool facility - how nobody has died from dysentry, I will never know.

The rep for the travel company we went with, Youtravel, was the worst I have ever had to deal with, and only responded to my request to be moved because I had nine other people with me asking for the same thing. We followed the advice of other people from other countries who were urging their own travel reps to do likewise and get them out of there - on the day we got moved there must have been thirty guests who left.

Go at your own risk!

we visited cinderella beach as a cheap last minnute deal for two weeks. Initially we were quite nervous, as the hotel was very quiet, and two weeks is a long time to spend in such a remote location, which it is! BUt this holiday was great, The be3ach had the most amazing house reef! Pool was ok clean, with enough sun loungers. MY boyfriend diod the padi open water course at the neighbouring hotel which is 5 star, and when you do this you can use that hotels facillities. If you are into diving a trip to abu dabeeb is a must, as we got to see a dugong(sea cow 3m long)

The diving wasn't cheap. I am qualified and I paid £40 per dive. The padi open water course worked out to be £320.

Food was average for egypt. avoided the meat as it was poor quality. Was good the first week, but a bit repetitive. Fed up with it by the 2nd week.

There were no problems with any of the all nclusive drinks. They give you free bottled water. spirits were good wine poor.

Advice get your currency out there from the hotel next doors cash point as you get a better exchange rate, plus all the prices in Marsa alam were in euros so we were often finding ourselves working out euros into egyptian pounds back into english pounds.

I find it pretty interesting that there's a review from 2015, when from all I can tell on site it has been closed since late 2011 ...
If you happen to stay at the nearby Akassia, or the slightly more distant Utopia, I would recommend the walk over to this location and have a look around ... amazing what all was left here when it closed down ...

Oh, and the overall rating is for the intended use as a Hotel - as a lost place, this is definitely worth a visit! ;)

Spent a week in July at the Cinderella with my husband. We went in July and it was very hot low 40's. Opening the front door at 8am is something I will never forget, so be warned, cover your head, wear something on your feet and drink plenty of water.
The hotel staff were amazing and spoke fairly good English and were always there to help. There were 2 other English family's the rest German and Russian but that was not a problem. Quite a few divers of many nationalities about but did not see them much.
Food a bit hit and miss at times, but lovely breads, fruit and desserts. Put it this way...I did not starve. They ran out of red wine half way through holiday so I had to switch my usual tipple for local spirits....not too bad though. No bar area per say, but plenty of places to sit around the hotel or by our room. No belly aches but did suffer with prickly heat for first time ever.
Rooms comfortable with air conditioning......but I'm sure the electric is switched off at night as the air con was never on in the morning. Blow drying hair was hell on earth in this heat so be warned. No complaints, had a TV but it was never watched. I suggest taking a little ipod speaker as the rooms have little verandas and you can sit out at night.
The beach was a short walk from our room, it was clean with sunloungers and shade. The sea was clear warm and blue and you could see this tropical fish swimming around your feet, bit freaky at first but I soon got used to them being there.
Nice quiet hotel, no arguments or rowdiness witnessed during my stay. More a family, couples or divers type hotel, no nightlife apart from what was put on by the hotel (bit of a trek to the next hotel, not walkable had to take taxi).
The only thing that bugged me was the beach sellers......they tried to sell you yesterdays papers, a massage or camel trips. On that note, we were advised not to go on any independent trips other than affiliated to hotel.....needn't explain why...common sense really. Many of the staff are are from Cairo and keen to make as much commission as they can. The shops accept British and Egyptian pound as well as Euro, we were told they like English so we took that, however, everything was calculated (and sold) into Euro's and at one point nearly got conned. Take Euro's and haggle they love it.
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and well worth the money, we went with Fleetway travel and our holiday was well below what others had paid.
My advise is to go as this is the 'relaxing Egypt' (compared to busy Cairo/Sharm) however if I went again I would check with the FCO first.
