Detailed Reviews
This hotel is run by a charming and friendly couple. In fact all the staff are most helpful.Location was great--a 15 minute walk along the beach to the town.In house food was excellent. The breakfast included in the price was also most satisfying.Everything was clean and well maintained and the sea spectacular. Will visit again.

We stayed at the Fanadir Holiday Resort for a week and had a great time.
The Bungalows are very nice and what we enjoyed very much is the fact that there are not too many of them so it really felt like family very soon.
The compound is a simple arrangement open to the sea with a pool and a garden in the middle.
The food and service was just excellent! The management was amazing - if we wanted anything from town or if we wanted to plan a trip or our journey back home, we always got help! That made our whole vacations even more enjoyable because we didnt had to worry about our bustickets or a nice diving/snorkelingspot for the next day. Due to that and some interesting and funny talks it felt warm and welcoming. There is nothing more to say about...
To mention also what's not perfect by now: everything is very clean but during our stay we had some difficulties with the heater and had no warm water for a day. Of course it was fixed quickly:)
We can highly recommend the Fanadir Holiday Resort and would love to come back for a relaxed holidaywith faboulous management next to so many beautiful dvinig/snorkeling spots!

I booked this Hotel through Hotelclub.com for 14 nights but cancelled 4 nights of my stay due to work commitments. Hotelclub.com advised due to the free cancellation policy that I would receive £157 as I cancelled within the Free cancellation period and was entitled to the refund. Already in transit I was contacted by Hotelclub.com and told that theHotel reservations refused to refund the 4 nights cancelled and would I contact the manager when I arrived at the hotel and enquire why there would be no refund. On arrival I did this and explained that I would be leaving on Sept 8th and not the 12th and that I would like to speak to the General manager about the refund who I was told was not onsite. So I reconfirmed with the reception manager that I would be leaving on the 8th and not the 12th and would like to speak to the General manager when he was at the hotel. I asked this 3 times throughout my stay (pretty poor and nothing like the made statement when you read the welcome brochure ). Hotelclub.com called my hotel room about 20 minutes after checkin asking if I had managed to talk with the Manager. Hotelclub.com tried for the refund and were very professional I have used them many times before and will continue using them in the future. After all this The Reception manager was surprised when I checked out on the 8th stating that my booking was check out on the 12th !!!. Not the greatest Management team in my opinion anyway.
The Hotel itself is quite nice rooms based round a small pool and the hotel room was very clean and also very nice and spacious so definitely no complaint with the room at all.
The breakfast was pretty average but adequate.
The Gym is not onsite but is the LAX Gym about a 3 minute walk away, it is a very modern well equipped gym but there are charges for anyone in a room with a swimming pool view but free with the more expensive Marina view rooms. I paid 500 Egyptian for the week which is quite pricy.
You also get Free access to Moods beach which is a 5 minute walk away and isa nice beach.
I would have definitely considered this hotel again if I had not had the problems with the refund and the lack of General management intervention, which is why I gave a 3 star average rating. Without these problems it would have got a 4 star rating.

I have been at Fanadir now the third time and I have to realize, that I love this place each time more!
The Fanadir Resort is my favorite place in Egypt for it is a small Hotel without all the trouble which may be caused by main tourism, but is clean, comfortable and extraordinary friendly. And since March there is a new diving Center at the Hotel: the Aquatic Dive Center which fits perfectly to this hotel. Adeva and Miso (the Managers) provide good equipments and great service - and there is a gorgeous house reef with lots of Canyons, Caves and fish. So the combination of Fanadir Hotel und Aquatic divers will be one the most recommended places for divers who like a familiar atmosphere and the possibility for great dives.

This is a small hotel run by a sour German manager with unhappy lazy staff.
The pool is unheated, unclean, and not even filled up. The sea is reached by a dangerous slippery path over the coral reef. It is dangerous to swim in rough sea as you cannot climb back onto the reef safely.
This is the only place in Egypt where Egyptian women are not allowed to swim in the pool. The manager does not allow them in the pool in their clothes which is the only acceptable way for a Muslim women to swim (leggings and T-shirt). This is sexist and racist and consequently the local people and visiting Cairenians no longer come here, though they used to in the past when it was owned by an Egyptian.
The food is German, unappetising and over priced. They don't usually have anything fresh although it is on the menu. The standard varies greatly from day to day.
The prices are unrealistic and they make up their own currency exchange rates.
There is a massage service which my friend tried and was almost electrocuted by the foot spa.
The hotel is located opposite the local land fill site and so is inundated with flies which annoy you all day.
The dive center is Pharoah Divers who have a good reputation and you can book diving with them without staying at the hotel.

We booked a very cheap package so weren't expecting much but were completely blown away! Clean rooms, location was great we could walk to the town and the atmosphere was great too with only 28 rooms you really got to know everyone there. The scuba dive instructors were very friendly but also professional and the whole week was meticulously planned out. There was always something for everyone to do.

This is a special small quiet and peaceful resort. We visited for the first time and were greeted by warm and helpful staff doing everything to make our stay pleasant. The food prepared by every part of the staff was delicious, especially the deserts prepared by the GM Ibraham. The new management is trying very hard to improve the whole property and they are open to any suggestions. My only complaint was with the dive master who is there on the property. His poor communication skills were evident which made my diving experience ther very poor. When I return I will make sure to contact a different company to dive with but I will gladly return to the hospitality of Ibraham, Joseph and Martina at the Fanadir Resort

The hotel itself is set of bungalows around garden and small pool, bungalows are small-ish, the apartment 'villa' are more comfortable. Shame we weren't able to open windows for fresh breeze because of mosquitoes. The hotel employs wast number of staff, whose purpose was mystery for us. The rooms though are kept in very good standards, but we could wish more for breakfast, what was always the same. The beach is nice and clean, but to swim you need to walk 500 m towards town, where reef ends. The hotel has on-situ diving club, with excellent and friendly stuff but if you are budget oriented, shop for diving in town. The same applies for all other trips and services hotel offers, including beer prices in pool bar and cost for wireless internet - they are European.
