True to its Mid-Century roots, the Phoenicia Lodge has been restored to marry the spirit of the past with the comfort and convenience of today. Our rooms, cottages and suites are perfectly situated in a wooded valley between Route 28 and the Esopus Creek, surrounded by the gorgeous Catskill Mountains and just around the corner from Main Street Phoenicia's fantastic shops and restaurants.

Detailed Reviews
We just returned from a perfect 3-night stay at the Phoenicia Lodge. The cabins are rustic but have wonderful beds, refreshed bathrooms, air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and Beekman 1802 amenities. Each cabin also had its own picnic table and Weber grill. Wifi isn't perfect, but you really shouldn't be working on vacation anyway, so put down your cell phone, sit on your porch with a nice glass of wine, and listen to the birds singing! Jennifer and Maureen are great hosts who really go above and beyond to make sure their guests are comfortable, and their homemade muffins and coffee cake in the mornings are worth getting up early for! Will definitely stay here again.

We've been staying at Phoenicia Lodge for a few years and will do so as long as it is open. The rooms and surrounding area is very well maintained and very cozy. The hosts, Maureen and Jen, are so warm and welcoming, I wanted to pop in to the office every day just to say "hi"! About a 3 minute drive to downtown Phoenicia and a very short walk to the Esopus Creek , the Lodge is in a great location for getting to and from the many attractions in the surrounding area. Also dog friendly! Can't wait to go back!

Lovely gem right next to the river/stream in the Catskills. Woodstock about 20 mins away. Very accommodating hosts, cabins come equipped if you want to eat in (although the pots and pans could use some updating) and heater in the room if it gets cold (which it did). Nice size TV with cable and little porch area to sit and enjoy the cool breeze. Bed was very soft, but that's just not my preference so probably won't bother others.

Before our visit we were assured that our room (#10), would have a working air conditioner. We arrived to a hot, musty and tiny room. Immediatly we went to the office to ask for a solution. Nothing was offered to us. We were willing to change rooms, change out the air conditioner ourselves or have a repairman fix it. The snarky condescending response were that there is a heat wave and the air conditioner can't cool the room adequately. They said it was working hard to cool the room and that we should understand that everyone has the same issue. Then then said that the next day would be cooler and therefore the room air would be much cooler. I explained that we were from the south and get very hot and humid but all types of air conditioners cool homes as that is what air conditioners are supposed to do. There were no apologies or compensation for the false advertising of having air conditioning. All of the air conditioners were very old and filled with dust which caused mildew. My asthma kicked in. There were no other lodging available and we were stuck there. Terrible experience. Also the room had ants, leaky sink and shower and was too small (100 SQ. Ft.) for two people to walk in. Don't go there!!!

My family and I along with family friends visited many years ago. We held our last group friends gathering here. This is truly a place to create memories with friends and family. It's almost magical!!! I would recommend this location to anyone who wants to get away, relax, unwind, heal, and have fun. I would give it 20 stars in rating if I could.

Our extended family rented cabins 1, 2, and 3 for five nights in late April/early May to attend a wedding in the area. We could not have asked for a more perfect location, space, and hosts for our first visit to the Catskills. Jen and Maureen were so warm and welcoming every morning at breakfast and every night when we stopped by for a movie or fresh baked cookie. Our cabins were super clean and the gas stoves kept us cozy on the cold nights. We loved having our own kitchen and had several family picnics and cookouts in the open space outside our cabins. Honestly, everything was just perfect. The cutest cabins we could imagine in a beautiful mountain setting close to many local restaurants and amazing hikes. We hope to return again soon!

We had arrived in the area after a long drive, and found ourselves homeless after the original place we were supposed to stay at, closed and failed to even give us a phone call to tell us.
It was a holiday week and most places were sold out but luckily Phoenica had 1 room left so myself and daughter had a place to stay.
The owner there couldn't have been nicer to us. They were so sweet. So the place is rustic but clean and loved the care and attention they take to the place. They have a massive stash of DVDs that we enjoyed watching. And the following morning they had a delicious assortment of breakfast foods laid out including home made donuts! Their coffee was delicious.
I'm glad our travels took us to this place. I now know of another location that we can come to in future.
We had a wonderful day skiing at Belleayre which was so close to them.
I'd definitely come back. Such lovely ladies who own this place.

We stayed in one of the cottages and it was perfect for us. Keep in mind, it's a cottage, not a luxe hotel room. That said, it had all the amenities we wanted. The two queen beds were comfy, the shower was strong with plenty of hot water, the A/C sufficient. The fridge, stove, pots, pans, dishes and flatware were good for our food storage and cooking needs. The courtyard was quiet and smelled great from pine needles. We used the badminton net (Maureen and Jen only ask that you put everything away in the bin when done and the cover back on). We also hosted an evening dinner with friends using one of the picnic benches. Maureen and Jen were gracious hosts. They provide a very good continental breakfast (a home-baked treat each morning), board games, and a nice library of DVD movies. The guided us to a fresh water swimming hole. And they are gracious hosts to boot. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay.

My boyfriend and I rode up to Phoenicia on the Harley to hike Wittenberg Mountain. Thankfully, we were able to book the last room (Room 11) available @ The Phoenix Lodge. Maureen & Jennifer are gracious & accommodating hosts. The lodge has a warm and cozy vibe that brought me back to a simpler time and reminded me of being a kid again. I made sure I carved out time to meditate in one of their hammocks and gaze up at the tall, surrounding trees and beautiful landscape that the property offers. Literally a 5 min ride (if that) into the lovely little town of Phoenicia, where the local market is open till 11pm & stocked with anything & everything you could ever need, including homemade growlers! Plenty of places to eat in town as well! Maureen & Jennifer offer up a lovely breakfast in the morning, and were very attentive to all of our needs. I forgot my blow dryer at home & Maureen had one to me in 5 minutes. I needed help with the tv and Jennifer was over within 5 min to help out. As we were checking out, Jenn & Maureen were kind enough to let us have a peek inside a cottage 1 & 6 , and we cannot wait to come back and stay in one of the cottages! We didn't get to build a fire, but we plan to the next time! The lodge is clean & renovated. Quiet & private. Highly recommend it! Thanks again, Maureen & Jennifer!! See you next time!

We looked for a base from which to explore hiking in the Catskills and found much more. The Phoenicia Lodge was convenient, clean and very cozy. Maureen and Jen immediately made us feel at home and offered great suggestions for dining, hiking and views. The breakfast offerings included homemade donuts and scones too. We can’t wait to go back!
