The Wyndham Garden is in a great neighborhood with restaurants, churches and convenience stores nearby. Short walk to the subway! Just a block walk to great views of Manhattan with great views. Ferry stop is also available.

One of the worst hotels I’ve ever visited. I arrived at check in time and had a dispute with a heavy accent man the hotel required a $200 security deposit I believe $50 a night which means if I stood 14 days it would be 14 x $50. Lucky for me I only needed 4 days I swiped my debit card almost 8 times and the machine that reads the card was not working , I told the gentleman if he could try the other machine/computer that was unoccupied he said no and continued to prompt me to swipe my card I then stated to the man if the machine did not work this last time I will not swipe my card again for security purposes. This sent the man off the top he rudely told me “You do not have to stay at this hotel you can leave right now” I was totally shocked I explained to the man if the machine ruins my card I will not have no money in nyc the man did not care I asked for a manager to deescalate the situation and the man ignored my request. Fear of getting stranded in nyc I abide with the hotels rules he then stated the card I was using was declined when I was 100% positive the card had money and worked. I used a credit card next and it went threw finally. I then go upstairs to a room that was not worth the $164 a night mold everywhere stains on sheets holes in walls wallpaper coming off the wall broken ice machine in hallway walls paper thin I went down stair and requested a manager again requested denied I called customer service to complain at this time I ran into the manager who stated I could get a full refund if I did not like the room it’s been 3 weeks and I still have not got my $200 security deposit back do not stay here horrible staff and hotel the only thing they have going from them is the bridge going into Manhattan the neighborhood is industrial and there is no parking hotel uses this to there advantage and charges $25 a night to park your car.

Room was very clean, AC was a godsend and worked beautifully. Check in and out were very fast too. The gentleman working night audit the day I left was extremely helpful. My flight was cancelled so I rebooked at a different airport and he was very helpful with figuring out the best option to get to the new airport. Recommendation for future travelers - it’s a very quiet neighbourhood so if you’re wanting late night snacks, pick some up before you go back to the hotel. There’s nothing currently in the area that’s open after 8pm - at least for snacks.

Suffered four bites on leg, buttocks and lower back within 15 minutes after reclining in bed. Very frequent traffic noise (cars, motorcycles, sirens) and loud talking from returning guests, even at 02:00 a.m. Light switch did not work (had to turn on lamp). The TV was also inoperable manually or via the remote control (this item apparently was never cleaned--gooey substance thereon and missing battery cover),

Location was excellent and within walking distance of ferry and metro. Also a citibike rack just in front of the hotel. Breakfast was included, but not sufficient. We found a free parking spot just in front of the hotel.

Terrible experience. I arrived after midnight and was hoping to find a room. They didn't have one for the night which is understandable. However, I purchased two upcoming nights and sat in the lobby for 10 minutes before being removed like I was a vagrant. This is after the gentlemen behind the counter said I can hang around for 30 minutes and gave me the wifi. I've recommended this place numerous times in the past to visiting clients and friends. Never again. There are better hotels within walking distance that are far nicer. I was treated like I didn't matter at all. Which is not how hotels are supposed to treat paying customers.

I had stayed once before at this hotel with no problems. And yes, it is not up to par with Marriott but it was then clean and sufficient to be close to the city. But this time, after arriving late and straight to be awoke to a shower that trickled cold water. The front desk did say they could get someone but I couldn't wait for that as we were heading to meet family. I then got a good look at the room, the furniture had whitish mold on it both the bureau and the desk, the bed skirt also had white powder mildew on it - it was like I was in a 2nd rate motel. I have emailed 3x with no response from management or Wyndham themselves, terrible customer service. I will not pursue a reward program as I will likely not stay at another Wyndham after this experience.

Stayed here as it was close proximity to my meeting location and close to Manhattan. Was only at the hotel to sleep a few hours during the nights we stayed. Safe neighborhood. They have a parking lot but you have to pay to park there. We were fortunate to find street parking outside the hotel. There is no meters in effect around the hotel. The room was ok. The shower head and shower drain could use a good cleaning and there was no ice machine on our floor but all in all we had a good stay and would go back.

It was hard to write this review because my experience with this hotel ranged from disastrous to excellent, so I'll just point out each experience individually: the good: -Michael at the front desk. Always helpful and truly tried to help us with our concerns. -they don't offer breakfast but they leave some brown bags with muffins, granola bars, some fruit and there are small water bottles always available at the front desk. -reasonably priced. -about 10 mins away from the nearest metro station that goes straight to Manhattan. -room was ok. No frills. The bad: -when I made my reservation in December last year, I used a 3rd party site (it was impossible to access the hotel's website). Apparently there was some kind of problem with the hotel's "system" and it was not recognizing 3rd party reservations (or so they informed me when I called them). Thankfully, zenhotels, the 3rd party I used to make my reservation, took charge of the matter and made sure the hotel recognized my reservation. Had I left it to the hotel I would've lost my money and had to make another reservation. That is just inexcusable. -the neighborhood is weird. It appears that it is transitioning from industrial to residential, so there are many warehouses and garages and part of the buildings are being reconditioned. It's not bad per se, just weird, because 2 blocks away from the hotel in any direction the neighborhood looks nicer.
