We arrived a little late to great our hosts, Wally and Nancy. Very pleasant. We were informed of breakfast schedule and made our way to the room just up stairs. Nicely decorated. Slightly different to walk through the bathroom to enter the room, but the accommodations were comfortable and quiet. They supplied all need quality linens and toiletries. Breakfast was cooked by host/chef Wally who has been a chef for 18 years. Fresh fruit everyday waiting and two choices of entree. Waffles and French toast were exceptional. Price for what you get is very fair considering what the local hotels are costing in Ithaca. We would both recommend and stay again. Thanks for a great stay. J & M

Property's Favourite Review
My partner of forty years and I recently had a wonderful two-night stay at Glass Magnolia B&B. Overall, we really enjoyed out stay. Our room was comfortable and both breakfasts were excellent. We would definitely recommend this B&B for a stay in the Finger Lakes area. We were attracted to the area by the waterfalls in the State Parks. Arrival and check-in was quick and easy with Wally, Nancy, and Gus all greeting us. We had a quick tour of the breakfast room and the guest kitchen in the main house and we were then shown our room. Our room, the Lord Mayfair, has a king-size bed and a good size bathroom with shower only (no tub). It was clean and comfortable. A window air conditioning unit is available but we mostly just left the windows open overnight using the A/C for just an hour or two to cool the room off. There is a fair amount of road noise with the windows open in this room since it is right at the front of the house but the traffic dies down to nothing after around 11 p.m. We didn’t get to see any of the other rooms so I can’t really comment on them. Coffee or tea are always available in the main house guest kitchen as well as some fruit in a basket to help yourself if you’d like. I understand the other house also has a kitchen for guest use but I am not aware of what, if anything, is available there. Both morning’s breakfasts were excellent. Breakfasts started with a fruit plate along with freshly baked loaf. Juice or water are offered at the table. There are two choices for breakfast each morning and Wally does a great job preparing the food. We enjoyed having a beer one evening on the front veranda. Wally and Nancy also welcomed our use of the guest dining room one evening for a dinner we purchased from a grocery store. Restaurants in the immediate area are limited and they all seem to have nights where they are closed so check Google for hours before you head to any particular restaurant. Check-out was also very easy. Return your room key to Wally or Nancy, they confirm your payment method for the balance owing and away you go. As mentioned previously we would definitely recommend Glass Magnolia B&B.

My husband and I had such a wonderful stay celebrating our anniversary. We stayed for 4 nights in the Lady Jayne room. Nancy and Wally (and of course Gus!) were so welcoming! They really made it feel like it was our home. Our favorite thing was the morning breakfasts. Go there hungry!! Wally will definitely feed you well! The meals are wonderful. We loved hanging in the dining room speaking with other guests and hearing stories of the area from our hosts. There's even stuff left in the guest kitchen for late-night tea and snacks to bring back to your room. Interlaken is perfectly situated near everything you want to do in the area. It was an easy drive north or south to get around Seneca and Cayuga Lakes. Nothing is far away. We were near plenty of wineries and great hiking. The foliage at the end of October was beautiful. You won't be disappointed if you stay here!

You'll find Nancy and Wally Rudolph warm, welcoming, and doting hosts. You'll find their home cozy, comfortable, and eclectic. A chef with decades of experience, Wally takes special pride in the preparation of his imaginative breakfast offerings. We had two and both were off-the-charts awesome. If your trip includes a wine-tasting adventure, both Nancy and Wally will gladly walk you through the areas best. Interlaken NY is ideally located near many wineries and the B&B is located in the center of town and in the middle of Cayuga and Seneca Lakes. Go for it . . .

First time staying at a B and B and wasn’t sure what to expect. We spent two nights in the Kensington room. The room was very comfortable and clean. Our hosts Nancy and Wally were excellent. Their knowledge of the area was extremely helpful. Very friendly and you will not go wrong with the amazing breakfast prepared by Wally. If you like pets, you’ll meet Gus their dog. We left our visit with a great experience and looking forward to staying at a B and B again.

We spent two nights in the Magnolia Garden room and were most pleased with the accommodations and the breakfasts each day were incredible. Wally and Nancy are very gracious hosts and most helpful in providing recommendations for local sites, attractions and restaurants. We have stayed at many B&B's and the morning breakfasts that are served at both 8 and 9 AM were simply the best we have experienced. A very welcome rest up stay here, most recommended.

The pictures are somewhat misleading. The breakfast is very good. The hosts are very nice people. An upgrading would be in order. The location is decent. We didn’t mind , but if you have an aversion to animals the owner’s dog roams freely. However, he is not aggressive.

We try very hard to make our pictures and accurate dipiction of our B & B. Our location is perfect for easy access to both the Seneca & Cayuga Lake wine trails as well as fantastic hiking and great food. Gus, our black lab, loves to greet all our guests.

First of all Nancy and Wally were excellent hosts who provided a delicious breakfast and warm hospitality during our entire stay! Our room the Durham room is located on second floor facing street. And yes you will hear the traffic. The bathroom is the smallest we have ever experienced. If you’re on the larger side you may find it difficult. The shower was ample but the shower head needs replacing as the spray settings barely worked. We picked here as the weather was warm for first week October and listing for room said air conditioning. Much to our surprise unit was removed 9/30 despite the forecast. It does cool down overnight to 50’s by 5am but at bedtime around 11 room was warm. We used a fan the last night that Nancy mentioned to us. In summary a place we would consider again but a different room and would inquire about size of bathroom!

We spent 2 nights at the Glass Magnolia, September 13 and 14, 2023. Our room was comfortable, with a private bath, the Durham room, on the second floor of the guest house, which is next door to the main house. Wally & Nancy are great hosts! Nancy is an excellent source of local information and tips for excursions in the area. Wally cooks up amazing breakfasts, graciously served by Nancy. Delicious food, fresh, and plenty of it. Our room was clean and cozy. It wasn't very large, but that's ok, since we didn't spend much time in it anyway. There is a large sitting room, kitchen, and dining area downstairs that are common areas where you can sit and relax and read or drink a cup of coffee that you can make with the coffeemaker in the kitchen. Interlaken is a great location from which to explore the Finger Lakes! We thoroughly enjoyed having this historic home as our home away from home.

This was our first time staying at a B&B and first time trip to the Finger Lakes and it was a great experience. Wally, Nancy and Gus were the best hosts and breakfasts were delicious. We ordered the cheese plate for the first night and it was well worth the money and nice not to have to go find somewhere to eat after the long drive in. The Magnolia Garden Room was lovely, very clean and much larger than expected. It is one of the 2 dog friendly rooms and you would never know it, ie no dog smells. The queen bed was very comfortable - a bit on the high side, not a problem for us but could be for others. This is the only room with an actual closet, so plenty of room for everything. Located at the back of the main house & no rooms directly above - very quiet & no hot afternoon sun. It was an unprecedented 90 degrees every day, so we did not take advantage of the deck, table and chairs, but I'm sure in the cooler weather it's a great spot to hang out. Being on the first floor and having its own entrance was definitely a plus. Also, just steps away from morning coffee, snacks, microwave and fridge. Thank you again to the Rudolph's - hope to stay with you again in the future!
