A family vacation in every way! My husband and I have been going to Baumann’s every year for over 10 years. We meet with friends who are family for an annual reunion. It never disappoints. Carol and her staff are dedicated and top notch. She always asks for feedback and believe me she listens. The rooms are quaint and clean. Every year they upgrade different aspects of the facilities. They have many activities for the kids and some fun things for the adults too. Greenville and the surrounding areas are so much fun to explore. A stay at Baumann’s is a pleasant and affordable experience. Families return year after year for a reason!

We went here with friends for years. We even brought other families with us in past. It is a simple place, affordable. In recent years we noticed that it seemed to be sliding in quality. We went one year and the paddle boats were not out because of weeds in small lake. Yoga was no longer. Nearby events like go carts closed and there was nothing replacing them. Crafts and events during rain??? Gone. My kids found a rat in the game room two summers ago, and I bring bleach wipes to wipe game room machines down first day we come each time --it's filthy every time. No exaggeration. The pool table was also filthy and stained. They had a kid running the games most years and they acted like typical bored teen. Yet we put up with it (should you need to on vacation?) to see the same people each year. Some who have also stopped coming. Last summer there were a few very cold days and no one could use the pool because it was freezing. I called to ask what the temperature was this year and if would be heated. I was told "how would I know the pool temp.? When it gets below. certain temp the heater kicks on!" When I explained no one was in last year because it wasn't working right she answered, "No that's wrong!" My husband literally called me and showed me pics both days of no one in pool. Then she accused us of "complaining a lot" because I had asked about paddleboats and other amenities in the past. Sorry. I am not THAT person, but a customer is allowed to politely ask questions. It is not the kind of place with a ton to do--you go to see the people you're hanging out with, so if you love to boat and the lake is closed, yes, that's a big deal to some people. I would encourage you to go. See how the family treats you, especially Rosemary. Maybe it will be enough for you. Unless like most first timers who AREN'T going for a family reunion or with a large group, you will be underwhelmed, maybe even frustrated. If you have gone to Pine Lake Manor, right near by, that's more like Baumann's should/used to be. Or a place like Woodloch--more money? Yes! but they try really hard to make a nice time for you and don't berate you for asking about missing/changing amenities. Be sure NOT to ask for more than the minimum. You definitely get what you pay for with Baumann's. Very sad. The older family who built the place and clearly cared once, would be ashamed of how the younger ones have run it down and treat the public.

This place will always get a great review from me. The fact that my family has been going to Baumanns for over 3 decades says it all. Those that were once "just some other random guests" at Baumanns have become like family and we all look forward to it every year. They have made beautiful upgrades to the place over the years and still manage to offer great rates to everyone. You get so much for your money. The kids have always loved it, even as older teens. Being up at Baumanns bring me back to my youth. My kids always put down the devices and enjoy being outside, hanging out and enjoy the outdoor activities.

If you haven't yet been, cast away your fears and book right away. The rooms are nice, clean, and spacious. The food is plentiful, and delicious. The staff are very friendly, and the management is very, very accommodating. I can't explain how helpful they were - Our first time at Baumann's for our 25th wedding anniversary, from out of the country - they patiently answered our repeated and varied questions, helped with the cake and flowers deliveries (we were still traveling when deliveries were expected). We will be there next year too - the decision was made on day 1 of our 3 nights that we were to spend there. The guests too were so nice - many of whom have been coming there for years. Many wonderful memories to cherish. There are so many activities - The DJ was awesome, rock climbing, pool, the giant fire pit, Trivia/Jeopardy, etc. Highly recommended for a wholesome family experience.

Spend 4 nights at Baumann’s Brookside with family and had a wonderful time. It was their 100th anniversary, my dad first stayed there in1937 ( he was 10) he even met my mom in the Catskills, so we have a lot of history over the years. We even have a family stone by the pool. Looks good. Everything was wonderful , food delicious, service excellent, rooms were perfect and nights in the Casino with family/friends and a great DJ was so much fun. Carol and family run an awesome business, something for everyone, thus people keep coming back. Hoping to get up sometime in the next 2 summers with my granddaughter. This will be our 5th generation at Baumann’s!! Thanks for a great time!! Borelli-Nierstedt Family.

it is hard to add words to what almost every other reviewer has said in the past, that Baumann's is truly the definition of DELIGHTFUL. Having stayed in typical Catskills resorts like The Concord and Villa Roma, and knowing that Baumann's was celebrating their 100 Year Anniversary, I had no expectations that I was about to check into the Ritz or 4 Seasons, but what I got was equally valuable, a TRUE FAMILY RUN RESORT - that has done its best to modernize but has not lost any of the charm and excellence that allowed it flourish for 100 years, while most of its Catskills brethren are long since gone. To anyone reading this that has been to the "typical" Catskills hotel i mentioned, this is a whole different level and something you should experience at least once, if not each and every year It all begins with Carol Baumann, who is every bit of genuine and caring as every other guest has described. She has passed this dedication along to each and every staff member I encountered, everyone seems genuinely happy to be working there and will bend over backwards to make sure each and every guest has a great experience. There were so many little extras that I never expected ad that just made my stay there even more special I cant add many more details than what you already read, the food is both excellent and plentiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and you can do as many or as few activities as you like, there is an Olympic size pool and if the weather is nice, it is a great break, to relax there for most of the day. To sum things up, many of the reviews you have read, talk about families that have been going to Baumanns for years, and for generations. I personally got to experience this, as the guests were ultra friendly, and the majority that I met were repeat customers, and several groups were people who had met at Baumanns 10, 20 or even 30 years ago and return each and every year as a reunion. That in itself speaks louder than any single review ever could

After our annual family vacation resort closed, we were all concerned about finding something as wonderful as what we had. We did find it. A family resort dedicated to making families feel welcome, and they are as accommodating as can be. The kids loved it. The food was great, including tasty vegetarian options at every lunch and dinner. There were always activities, day and night, and the pool was great! Carol and her family take pleasing their guests very seriously, and our whole family thanks them. Before we left, the family insisted we book our family vacation there for next year. That should tell you what you need to know. Thank you again for making our time together as wonderful as could be.
