Just back from our third visit to Kurumba ( 1st in 2019 and 2nd in 2021). This time we booked the delux pool villa ( previous visits were in garden pool villas) and it certainly didn’t disappoint! We’ve had the most fantastic relaxing week. We booked the all inclusive and ate in each restaurant ( except the Arabic) and didn’t have a bad meal. Although our two childrens favourite was the japanese and I need to give a special mention to Robert - he is a fantastic chef and put on an amazing show ( we ended up going there twice). We ate lunch in the bar everyday - the staff in there are amazing! Special mention to April as she remembered my sons pizza order everyday. Although all the staff were fantastic and nothing was ever too much trouble. We did the sunset dolphin cruise which was amazing and the children enjoyed the paddle board/ kayak rental that was included in our meal plan most days. My husband and children did a discover scuba dive with on site Euro Divers. Valantina was both knowledgeable and patient and gave them all the most wonderful experience which they all loved and can’t wait to dive again. My husband lost his watch during the dive and they found it later that day which was amazing service from them! It is the staff that really make this resort. Along with the amazing food and facilities. Yes you can see Male and the planes taking off and landing however we were not bothered by this at any point! Thanks to all at Kurumba - can’t wait to go back in 2023 😍…
What we liked: The hotel is very well kept, the staff is exceptional. The check in went fast and got our beautiful room after a nice lunch. We really liked the staff at the restaurant, they were helpful and also fast, remember what we liked. We were on full board plus and its nice that the drinks are included, wide variety of drinks, really good cocktails. The room was spacious, amazing outdoor shower and the l'occitane toiletteries are a plus. The beach is clean and well kept, water is crystal clear. If you cross the "water-wall" wich is an artifical stone wall around the beach you can snorkel around the reef, i saw lot of black tip reef sharks, 2 turtle, lion fish, crown of thorns starfish and the scary titan trigger fish as well. We traveled with our baby, the kids club was fantastic, the staff was really good with Sophia, we used the baby sitting service however its very expensive but professional. We tried the shark safari excursion, it was super experience but also very expensive. Do not liked: It is a shame that the advertisement of the hotel is not honest, when i booked our stay i choose Kurumba beacause of the pictures and the close location to the airport, but from the map did not understand how close it is to the airport. It is under the flying corridor, so you hear the take off all the seaplanes and also the big aircraft wich means constant noise day and night. I understand that this is the first resort of the maldives and maybe 50 years ago this was the perfect location for a resort but now you see the not so pleasent landscape of male, cranes, cargo ships etc and its not what you would like to see on a Maldivian holiday. Unfortunately all of the pictures you see in Booking.com are made from a really good angle. If you on the island you will always see the not so pleasant reality. If we were aware of this we would not book this hotel. You can easily access better hotels within 30 min boat time and trust me you can travel that far even with a baby because we did it. So overall i would like to suggest for the management to be honest, put up honest pictures of the island than the guest can decide if its suitable for him or not, but this deceit is not fair towards your guest. It is a great resort, with great staff please respect your guest more. I would not come again because of this. Also after i posted this review, i got a reply from the hotel, i quote: "We do not hide that fact, and we do assume people do their research before making their final decision." This is your research here, if you would like to watch planes take of every minute and enjoy the beautiful cranes of Male instead of the ocean view and quiet, then this is your place, go for it.…
Resort is well maintained. Breakfast was great with specially with the delicious omelette from Mahmoud. One of the best experience of arabic food with special care from Chef Mahmoud who makes me feel home. Will come back again Thank you all
This was our second time in Kurumba and we loved this second visit even more! We loved the fact that the resort is only a 6-minute speedboat ride from Male. This time though, we were more prepared and literally went snorkelling every day! As the resort has a great house reef - we saw 5-foot black-tipped reef sharks 3 of the 6 days were there, and even saw dolphins at the edge of the house reef while we were sunbathing on shore! Our deepest thanks to Joy, who was very accommodating for us throughout our stay (and Joy was superb during our first visit as well!) and also Naufal, the Front Office Manager (who gave us a very warm sending off at the end of our visit) and generally the entire Kurumba crew! (From the boat crews, to the hospitality staff, the cleaning crew and also the landscapers)…
I visited Maldives for the first time, and booked Kurumba for 9 nights. Everyone is saying we will get bored in same resort. But in Kurumba we enjoyed every day as our first day. There are so many activities you can explore in Kurumba at minimal cost like para sailing, snorkelling. There are so many restaurants in resort so that you can get large variety of options in cuisine. We enjoy our day like, first we have lavish breakfast, then we go for beach round and enjoy the beach view, then we go for some activities, and at last in bar area. They plan different types of DJ like folk, rock performance. Rooms are also very good and in low budget also as compared to other resorts in Maldives. There I met with Naufal Ji (Front Desk Manager), he is really helping. His nature is very good. When I have questions or need any help, I just contact him and he politely help me. We even connected today also. He just become my friend. One more person I met there is Ahmed Ji, he is there in Indian restaurant. He was also very kind. So at last I just say, if you are planning to visit Maldives, just try Kurumba Resort. They are very best in terms of service, price and everything.…
I would like to say this was our first trip to the maldives. and we really enjoyed it. Thank you kurumba hotel maldives. The hotel is top notch. There are many positives. The hotel is close to the city which is very convenient. The staff is very kind and welcoming. Separately, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff of the Vihamanaa restaurant. Ulaa shareef Afsan Zinan Kalum sadwaan Shimal. Very friendly guys. My little sister immediately fell in love with them. I still miss them. I recommend this hotel to everyone!
Our flight arrived late (and unfortunately without our luggage) and we were very happy that we chose the Kurumba to start our holiday in the Maldives due to its close proximity to the airport. A short 15-20 minute boat trip only, for the price it made sense for us to stay a few nights here as opposed to a hotel for a similar fee in Male. What makes this hotel is the friendliness of the staff. Each morning we were greeted by the same friendly faces who treated my young 2 year old daughter exceptionally well. Despite Singapore Airlines’ delaying our luggage for almost three days, the Kurumba kept us well informed about its whereabouts and even arranged for a special transfer for one case, which arrived at 1am on the second night. We stayed in a villa with a private pool. The villa is a little aged, but was fine for a base for a few days. Our television signal was very poor - so we couldn’t watch TV, but the room was comfortable and the bathroom very clean. Huge cosy bed. The pool and outdoor area was small, but rather nice. The gym definitely needs a bit of an upgrade, but all in all faultless for the price. Would definitely return here for a short stay before moving on to the next resort. Recommended…
We stayed here for the first time for our Christmas holiday. Absolutely amazing stay! Top service, well maintained and spacious villa, beautiful gardens, delicious food and drinks, great activities …. It’s a short 10 minute boat ride from the airport. We had such a great time. The people are all warm and friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic. Couldn’t say more about our stay. Our special thanks and aprication to Ms. Leyla for all the help and Hospitality.
Awesome experience. Very relaxing place for any kind of family. Polite and cordial staff. Excellent food at the restaurants - we tried Kandu Bar, Vihamana, Al-Qasr and the Cafe. Beach front deluxe bungalows are totally worth the stay. Overall a great package for someone who wants to spend 4-5 days in solitude, peace and have fun.
