Enjoyed a six night stay here as a solo traveller. My room was in the “quiet” area at the rear of the property with its own pool area. It was a very quiet peaceful stay. Location is excellent within walking distance to many popular restaurants . The included breakfast is basic buffet , but with egg station and is more than ample. Restaurant has a limited menu currently but food was enjoyable. Happy to recommend anyone wanting a peaceful stay in a great location.
Upon arrival, the crew was friendly. I noticed other guests having welcome drinks but not me. The manager then escorted us to the room and gave us a brief of the hotel facilities. We stayed in the Premier room with level access to the pool, which was great. Do note that the toilet is open concept, without any door. Then I realised that the WiFi in my room wasn't working. This was the start of all my problems. They took an entire day to try and fix the WiFi, walking in and out, bringing in ladders, engineers, staff, etc. This was extremely inconvenient to me as I couldn't change (remember no door to the toilet) and couldn't head out as I had to wait for them. It was extremely frustrating. Next morning, I told them I would like my room to be made up and towels replaced when I'm back from the gym at 11am. Unfortunately, none of it was done. So more ppl came in to make my room and try and fix the WiFi. Eventually, the manager gave up and very kindly upgraded me to a Deluxe Premier room which was superb! I would highly recommend that everyone just go for this room. He also offered either a 1 hour spa or dining at the restaurant. I chose the latter as I was alone with my son and couldn't leave him alone. Also requested for in-room dining since the restaurant didn't look too great. I went to Montigo's website to order my dinner which consisted of a fish, a kid's chicken rice and ONE GLASS of house wine. The lady took my order over the phone and did not convey any issue. 5 mins later, a guy showed up and told me they have changed the menu and it's only the bar menu now. Also, I couldn't have the wine since my dinner was complimentary. Seriously?! My dinner totaled to barely 200 RP, vs a 1 hour spa that would have easily been double that! And also, why didn't they update their room service menu? If I knew only bar bites were available, I would have just ordered my own food and paid for the wine. Eventually, it was too late to change anything so I just went with the bar menu and the manager decided to add the wine in. But I already had a very bad after taste about all this. If you want to compensate, do it well. Don't give caveats. Cos if so, I'd rather you don't offer anything. It makes me feel very cheap. I do think the manager was trying very hard but there was either a lack of communication or he just decided to change his mind. With so many options in Bali, I probably would explore another hotel the next time I return…
Excellent customer service, very kids friendly with large and clean play room and staff take extra efforts to make stay comfortable and peace of mind. Very convenient located among great restaurants and large hotels. Lastly Tilo the chick is very cute!
Booked in a Deluxe Room for 10 nights. The hospitality I received at Montigo was absolutely stellar. A big thank you goes to Krisna, Sinta, Aditya & Yogi from Front Office as well as Doni & Sarjana from Housekeeping (and many others whom I didn't manage to get their names!). Service was always attentive, genuine and heartfelt. The team made me feel at home and amongst friends. I have a background in hospitality and very much appreciate the rarity of experiences like this, especially in the face of tough shift-work and long hours. Achieving such a lovely environment can only be had with caring and hardworking individuals who interact from the heart. Management should be very proud of their team and the assets they all present. The estate is very conveniently located in the heart of Seminyak and is of a large land area. This helps with that feeling of being away from the main road's hustle and bustle. I mean, there's three pools haha. The room sits very well-sized at 38sqm with a spacious balcony and is perfect for single or dual occupancy. A very nice offering for their lead-in room category. I also enjoyed well-planned appointments like USB charging ports and a ceiling fan on the balcony to beat the heat. I didn't have the chance to enjoy the spa and other facilities as I was out for the most part. Montigo Resorts Seminyak presents excellent value even just with the estate and room alone. The service takes everything to the next level and honestly rivals some of the other experiences I've had with larger hotel groups. Special thanks again to Krisna. You're a legend brother. Anda adalah seorang profesional sejati dan saya berharap jalan kita bertemu saat berikutnya saya kembali ke Bali.…
Stayed here for a short trip. Our first stay with a nice clean, neat also charming and polite hotels staff. Swimming pool was absolutely huge and they have 3 swimming pool. Room was quite big and fresh. Nothing to be comment at this stay. Everything was recommended! Thank you Montigo!
I've been staying at Montigo Seminyak earlier this month during high season - it was public holiday in Indonesia so the traffic was pretty bad around Bali. It was the right decision to stayed there, as everything within walking distance. Great restaurants and beach clubs are nearby so i just need to walk! Potato Head and W Seminyak are next door, Biku and Fat Turtle are just across the road. Kids club and several pools are available for my kid to play. Love it.
Stayed at Montigo in a Balcony Suite for 9 nights. ROOM: Upon arrival at 11pm, there were already a number of problems with the room. Th TV wasn't working, fridge wasn't working and there was a strange smell at the entrance. Also, the water from the taps was quite smelly and it was obvious these had not been used in a while. I suggest letting all taps run for at least 10-15 minutes as soon as you arrive. This was all fixed the following morning but it should really be ready to go in every instance. I also noticed that the balcony railing was very loose and if someone heavier than me leant on it, they would probably fall. On two occasions, I also returned to my room to find out my key wasn't working and this required multiple trips back and forth to reception to have someone fix it. Bed was extremely comfortable. TV wasn't working properly - the sound and image were not in sync and it was obvious a satellite connection is being used. This needs to be fixed as I rarely used the tv because of this. BREAKFAST: Minimal and basic selection of food. I had bacon, eggs, toast and hash browns each morning but I found the food to be extremely oily. FACILITIES: Gym had basic and dated equipment but you would be better off going to one of the bigger gyms for a proper workout in Seminyak. Main pool was great for a quick dip. The staff were great and always on hand to fix everything needed but the entire hotel just needs a bit of love and a good refurbishment. Would probably look at staying at the Alila or W next time but for the price I paid, I can't complain.…
Three nights here and I should of left after the first night. Pros: lovely staff, balcony was great (albeit uncomfortable chairs) and the location is very good. Wifi also worked well and the air con is good. Cons: the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in. Cement slabs. I had two toppers put on my bed but these aren’t proper mattress toppers, just duvets with feathers. They need proper foam/bamboo toppers. I had to sleep on all the pillows to try and get some comfort. Not comfortable. Housekeeping must of changed my sheets yesterday and the smell of the sheets/bedding for my last night made me wonder if accidentally old sheets off someone’s bed had been put on mine - smells either like sweat or more like sheets have not been dried properly. Also no top sheet on the bed so the duvet is the only cover. Also there is a smell of smoke all the time esp in the morning. It’s not good to wake up to smoke but I have no idea where that is coming from. Noisy mini bar fridge. Every 10 minutes it would make a loud generator noise Tv - a wide variety of channels only 3 worked. Breakfast - do not eat the breakfast. It’s better to walk to sisterfields or Coffee Cartel or Gourmet cafe - all good but don’t eat the breakfast here. Upon arrival to my room, noticed my bathroom was unclean. Hairs in my sink and toilet smelt and stained seat. I had to call and asked for it to be re cleaned. It was not re cleaned that great and I had no soap to wash my hands. Yesterday housekeeping thoroughly cleaned bathroom and even looked like either they changed my toilet seat as it was now without stains. And the toilet looked like it had been bleached which was good. Some other guests are very loud. The building is an echo chamber so be prepared if you stay to hear lots of door slamming and people being loud. I am so disappointed that this is my first overseas trip for nearly 3 years and first place I stay is a huge let down. I am off to Ubud now with a very sore neck and back due to the bed and uncomfortable pillows. I wouldn’t return or recommend this hotel. Hopefully it improves as the staff are very sweet people but I am not sure where the 4 star rating has come from. It’s 2 star in my opinion.…
This is our first trip back to Bali after the pandemic. The hotel was good enough to honour a 2 year old voucher. The staff try very hard but the hotel is tired and in need of a good makeover. Few teething problems as they reopen such as restricted menu, basic breakfast included & bar light on with choice. On the up side they have some lovely rooms overlooking the pool. The pool is quite well kept. The best part of the whole experience at the resort is the location walking to fabulous restaurants such as Mano Lalucciola & Rustica all amazing & 5 star world class food.
We actually stayed right as Covid was becoming a thing. The staff are absolutely amazing, attentive, remembered everyone’s names, even really looked after us when I got sick, sorted a doctor and free food. Our room was one of the units with our own pool which was amazing. I highly recommend the Montigo and we will definitely go back!
