I was unfortunately unable to get in to Bali to not having 6-months validity on my passport. This hotel were very lovely and gave me a credit to stay at another time. I booked a date for Easter and had to again cancel due to Covid-19 and they gave me another credit. Good communication and my friends stayed (without me) on the first trip and loved the hotel.

Booked this hotel due to the reasonable price- I was taken to my room which was on the 2nd floor, the room itself was large & clean with nice decor, the bed was extremely comfortable & I got a really good sleep. The air conditioning was extremely good & consistent throughout my 3 night stay. The bathroom had a large walk in shower & plenty of room to get ready in The balcony was large & had seating which overlooked the lush hotel grounds & swimming pool. The pool was a good size & really nice to take a dip in, I didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so can’t comment The location is great, you walk out of the hotel & opposite there is a small supermarket & a lovely place which does breakfast, it takes about 5 mins to get to the main strip & is close to all other amenities - would recommend!

If you can extend your budget stay somewhere else. I stayed at Taman Ayu mid-December 2019. I previously stayed here 7 years ago when they started to renovate the two left and right wings. I chose Taman Ayu because I had stayed there before, becuase it is strategically located to the gym I was going to and because the price is always good here. I only paid $36 per night. Had it not been for the issues I encountered while I stayed there, I would say the Taman Ayu is great value for money. After the issues I had, I would say it is still good value for money but I would never stay there again. I arrived very late at night. I was allocated room 904 which is one of the older rooms directly behind the reception area on the ground floor. The rooms in this part of the hotel are still the older style but they have everything you need. They are a good size, with a private balcony. The balcony in this room faces the pool at ground level. Though the room was older it was clean, big and the bathroom was also large and clean. However, after unpacking I found the airconditioning wasn't working. I hate to be 'that guy' so tried re-starting it, changed the batteries with the TV but the aircon still wouldn't turn on. I went to the reception. The night manager tried to address the issue. After trying everything I had already tried I suggested I should move room. It was already hot that night and I knew it would be hotter still by the morning. I was offered a first floor room. I think It was 909. It was directly above the previous room. Again this was an older room. I didn't unpack this time. The aircon didn't work again. The remote controls were also unserviceable. I spoke to the manager and offered to pay for an upgrade, just so long as the airconditioner worked. I was moved to one of the rooms in the newer wings. This room was 12.8 and on what they call the 3rd floor. It's on the first floor overlooking the beautiful gardens. This room was nice, clean and the airconditioner worked. It was approximately 3 hours after check in before I was settled. The water pressure is fine. The hot and cold water takes some adjusting but is fine. The room and bathroom are large. There is a balcony. There is a dressing table/desk, small fridge and they provide two very small bottles of water each day free of charge. But, when they forget to clean your room and you use one of the bottles of water from the mini bar, they don't forget to charge you. The cost of the water wasn't an issue (keep reading). There are soap/shampoo dispensers in the shower, in lieu of soap bars or bottles of body wash. In this room they didn't work so I had to take the lids off and dip my fingers into the dispenser to get the soap out. None of the shelves, desk or towel rails were secure. Everything was hanging of the wall on an angle. I had been in the room for about 2 days. I returned from a day out and found the airconditioner wasn't working in this, my third room, either. I contacted the reception who very quickly sent a maintenance person. His attendance coincided with a big thunderstorm. He looked at the aircon and tried the normal things, batteries, reset etc etc. He then stuck his screwdriver into a power socket that was hanging outside the room, in the rain, and all the power to the room went out. No aircon. No lights. No power. Luckily he was ok. I had a little giggle to myself. The manager rang me and asked me if I was happy to move, again. I moved to my fourth room. This one is on the third floor which is actually on the second floor. There are no elevators. This room was exactly the same as the previous one. The desk and shelves however, were at least level. Room number 12.9. There was however, no toilet lid. The aircon worked and the power only went out when there were brown outs. I also missed my room being cleaned twice despite leaving out the 'please make up my room' sign. There were a few loose tiles on the floor and clumps of long dark hair remained on the floor in the bathroom for the entire remainder of my trip. On check out, remember the bottle of water, I was asked to pay for the bottle of water. I asked the manager if he knew I had been moved to four different rooms? He told me I used the water and had to pay for it. I paid the $1.50 because it was only $1.50 and it just isn't worth making this an issue. I was pretty happy to leave. The staff are nice people. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. The location and price are great. The rooms in the old section are dated. The rooms in the newer area are already suffering tropical blight (paint and war and tear) Room service (cleaners), no so good but they are young and perhaps lack some supervision. I never raised a complaint nor did I ask for a refund partial or full bearing in mind I only paid $36 a night. I'm not that fussed as long as the hotel is in the right place and has aircon. Taman Ayu was 50/50 in that regard. I write this review based on what I saw and experienced. If I couldn't change it it was pointless raising an issue at the time. The airconditioning in such a hot climate was a non-negotiable. I didn't bother saying anything about the room not being cleaned because it wasn't a major issue for me. I almost forgot. When I moved into room number 3 of the trip, there was a paper seal on the toilet lid (because this toilet had a lid) which read, 'This toilet has been cleaned for your hygiene', or similar. Clearly it had not been cleaned because I had to clean a few drops of dried urine from the seat before I used it. The stains on the toilet in the second room were water stains. I'm pretty sure they could do something about those. I'm sorry but I can't recommend the Taman Ayu based on this experience however, if you decide to stay here just make sure you go in with eyes open and be more pro-active than I am if there is an issue.

Stayed at the Taman Ayu so many times and never disappointed. I stay in a super deluxe room with views to the gardens and pool. Very relaxing. They have a new bar/restaurant near the pool for a drink or great for breakfast. Dayu will look after you with her co workers Kiki and Wisnu. They are fantastic people. Highly recommend

Not a very warm welcome when you check-in either. Once in the room, it takes 5 seconds to realize that there is an absolute lack of maintenance and that the cleaning is done in a rush: broken trash bin, toilet seat and wardrobe; worn out curtains, sheets, mattress, pillows and towels; table lamps not working; sockets completely out of the wall... plus 2 open (refilled I guess) bottles of water in the minibar! No one ever answered the couple of times I called the front desk but the housekeepers were kind enough to call my room and wake me up early in the morning to ask if I wanted my room cleaned and kept asking me on my way to breakfast even though I told them I needed it cleaned in the afternoon... I had breakfast the first day (big mistake!), every single thing was inedible and undrinkable. Having stayed at 4 different Bali hotels of the same standards and price (or even lower) this one was the worst by far, you can clearly see that there is a complete absence of management.

The pictures will speak for themselves. Apart from the location and the fruit-juice bar I can't tell any good. The room was not clean, pillow case was far away from white, let alone the bathroom's step-towel. In general, the total ignorance of maintaining featured the room, such as the broken socket, broken bin. Toilet has nevers seen domestos. The "bathroom" beside the pool was very below expectations. If I hadn't paid in advance i would have left the place upon arrival-

It's tired and dated, but for the price it's a great stay. Exceptionally clean, just old stains on toilet etc. It was a great stay until the end when an extra bill from the pool bar was added at the end, despite me paying cash for that one. It took several people to talk to to try and clear it up, but I left feeling I still wasn't believed, even though my signature was not on the receipt, especially when the manager said if i'm telling the truth he will have to sack his staff member as karma is karma, trying to intimidate me. So my suggestion is only pay at the end for receipts you have signed for rather than cash at the pool.

First time staying in the area and the hotel is reasonably priced for what it offers. Stayed in a two bedroom Family Cottage, room 927, for 10 nights. The cottage, although quite tired, is a great size, built over two floors that include 2 bed and bathrooms plus a dining and sitting area near the kitchen. A couple of issues were that the toilet didn't flush in the downstairs bathroom on the first two days, but was attended to by the efficient and friendly staff and after that all was good and the kettle leaked water....not good with electricity :). The breakfast, which was included in our room charge, was adequate for what we wanted. You had a choice of 5 different breakfasts and you could help yourself to tea, coffee, juice, cereal, fruit and cakes. Sadly the pool was a horrible green colour for the majority of our stay so only had a couple of quick dips. The beds were very comfortable and the aircon worked an absolute treat.

Taman Ayu room we had was on the ground floor, just a few yards to the swimming pool It was very comfortable large, spacious, clean and bright. More importantly the air-condition and fridge works and kept us cool. Good wifi connection with a decent speed too. This is a basic cosy hotel in a lovely green surroundings with no frills like elaborate lounge, reception, restaurants but there are so many wonderful restaurants within walking distance. Gourmet Bakery new cafe is at the door steps and offers a great range of freshly baked bread, etc. The swimming pool area is perfect for chilling out reading with a cocktail or a cold beer. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
